I really enjoy seeing creators talk about why and how they started their channels. It's wonderful that your channel has reinvigorated your love for archaeology! Thank you for sharing and keep up the good work!
Thanks so much for your kind note. I really appreciate it. I think I didn't go into the "why" as much, but maybe that's another video idea! Thanks for that :)
One of your knitters... still here! (There might have been a LEGO Museum of History video as well connected to your circle of people :)) Curiosity for unexpected shiny new things allows me to sit a few minutes to listen and maybe learn something I never knew I wanted to know. Mean comments suck and I don't really understand it ...but it's everywhere.
Dr. Smiti! Another knitter here who was a cultural anthro major! I love what you’re doing and would just echo others by saying how happy I am that you’ve felt your love for archaeology grow through doing this work. Excited to see what you and the team are cooking up for us!
another one of your knitters who has been super excited to see more from you! im so glad you were able to push through the negativity and make it work for you, love your work!!!
I'm glad RUclips recommended your videos to me. One thing I really value about you (and some other smaller channels) is that you interact with comments and provide additional information and answer questions, being honest about when there simply isn't enough archaeological evidence to give a satisfying answer. While you probably won't have the time to engage to that degree once/if your channel gets big, I wish you all the best in getting there - so it can actually pay the bills! I sometimes think it's ridiculous how much time and money creators have to pour into a channel in the hopes that it becomes sustainable at some point down the line. I could imagine that more videos related to fiber arts could be quite interesting for a lot of us, as well as information about aspects of daily living of various people - providing a sense of what it might have been like to live thousands of years ago. I'd also love collaborations with other channels, eg with the more experimental side of archaeology. Learning about how simple thread or woven items are made from Sally Pointer on RUclips has been so interesting, I would have LOVED having that available when I was a child with too much time on my hands!
Thank you so much for your kind note! It means a lot and I value your feedback. Responding to comments is important to me, especially when I can say thank you or provide extra context. We have more fiber arts related videos in the works so stand tuned. Thanks again for all your support!
As a fellow archaeologist just starting a RUclips channel, I am grateful your video appeared on my feed! Your hesitation about your credential and rigourous fact checking really resonate with me. Instant follow! 😊
Inspiring tale! It's lovely to hear how the video production projects have increased your love of archaeology. Modern academia selects for narrow specialists, and you put into words how this kind of work can be a powerful antidote to that. Great video!
I really love to hear that you are doing topics that spark excitement. As I’ve said before I’m always wondering about things but my research skills are really deplorable. My kids sometimes help but it’s at the cost of the “key words” speech. I was using fine key words that made sense to me and my dyslexic brain. Not my fault google hates me and my phrasing! Anyway the fact that everyone on the team is excited will show in your content.
Thank you so much for your kind note and sharing your experience with research. I can only imagine your frustration. It’s a lot to navigate and I am glad we can help in a small way with our videos.
I LOVE the editing style of your videos! The course you took absolutely paid off! The effort your team puts in does not go un-noticed, the style of your videos are approachable and it doesn't seem like you are "trying too hard" which I think is the hallmark of a good channel. If it can communicate heady topics in an approachable way and the effort that goes into production, results in an effortless feeling video that has a certain brand to it., you have succeded!
Wow, fascinating insight into this journey! It's great to hear that you and your team are landing in such an exciting place. I know I'm excited to see more of your work 😁
Great video! I especially loved the insight on handling comments-- great tips, all around. And what a fascinating journey. I so appreciate you sharing!

what you’re talking about at 3:15 is something i see in common with plenty of my favorite channels, usually education based
That’s really nice to know. I appreciate you sharing that!
