No offense since I don't know Korean, but from my perspective it's kinda gone from watching robots battling each other to being able to understand each players' personality and emotions going into their matches. It honestly feels like an entirely new ASL show. Caster Park is absolutely hilarious btw. Thanks to everyone involved. Cast is definitely an upgrade from prior seasons.
Fully agree, I really appreciate the subs, especially for the nomination ceremonies as we get to see way more personality. I think it would be best/great if it was just a 1 day delay for the upload, but that's probably not logistically feasible.
Couldn't agree more, live translation is so limited, I much prefer proper subtitles. Tastosis also really made it feel like they were right there in the studio, overall a great season and a massive thanks to ASL and the patreon supporters for allowing these two to continue doing what they do.

Such fantastic games. As a Terran Fanboy, seeing my two favorite Protoss/Zerg duel it out was a real pleasure. Both of these guys really deserved to be there and they both played top tier games. I think it also has to be pointed out what Larva said about 'What it means to be a champion' for the group selection next season. Can't wait for that, because even in this season he was like, 'yeah I don't care who's in my group, i'll crush everyone lol'. Much respect for his spirit and skills. By far my favorite zerg to watch. Thanks to the ASL/Afreeca team for continuing support for BW. Lastly, big thank you to Tastosis for making this happen.. Best Finals I've seen in a long time. Absolutely insane. Loved it. Was torn between both the runner up and the winner. But ultimately I wanted the winner to win. Both players displayed a lot of emotion like they really wanted to win. I couldn't have asked for more from this series. It's amazing how Larva's rivalry with Flash has prevented the Stylish Zerg from reaching the finals time and time again, but after such a spectacular growth this season, Larva went all the way and beyond my expectations to become season 11's champion! Sincere congratulations to Larva, it was time you showed everyone how good you really are with Zerg! And nobody can make fun of your foot play anymore. Keep on styling bro, you are awesome!
Larva is nice to see, always something crazy and special to see. Playing with his feet, popping out a hairdryer, random stuff you never seen before ... and as long as he wins, it clearly pays off.
my hands and feet freeze during prolonged concentration, i think its some kind of blood circulation issue, might be whats happening to him, at home i use a cup of hot water to warm my hands on :)

Lim Hongkyu aka Larva aka O Great Foot-Gamer! This was absolutely his season! What a journey! So deserved! I love both Larva and Mini, and how they play, so this was a dream finals for me! This was the perfect gaming gift, as my birthday is early June! Rewatching it was a blast!
Been watching starcraft for only 3 years, but instantly gravitated to Mini as my favourite player as a real innovative, cerebral, screwball, cheesy player with top notch potential, even if protoss' like Snow or Rain at the time were having more success. Sometimes in prior season's I feel he's not always lived up to that and choked on occasion, but to watch him this season reach his ceiling has been very gratifying to see. He's really turning Z vs P on its head in the face of otherwise dominance of by the tops zerg vs the other top protoss'. His micro is second to none, and he's just a master with zealot control and getting timing attacks at +1& legs or using mass DTs. He can be proud of how bodied the defending champ Queen in both the group and semis, and how he played in this excellent finals.

The first time i ever watched an english language casting of this game was in 2009 - F91 vs Ret "Liquibition" match. Up until then it had been 10 years of watching Kespa matches without an idea what was going on. Tasteless and Artosis really have carried the torch by bringing such professionalism to English language casters. Thanks again guys for keeping our esport alive!
I feel like those background arcs after game 1 really put things in to perspective for the entire series. One had success moving forward from the early starleague days, and one had a bumpy journey as the background character who never had his moment to shine. Great outcome

great series and my favorite matchup. larva has officially evolved from a tile in the creep colony to late game defiler. cast was so good. mini is one of my favorite players to watch and he has what it takes to be a champion some day. see you when you get back, flash, these guys will keep you honest for sure.

Mini was like a super villain this season just completely destroying everyone in nearly flawless ways. The big upsets. There was a lot riding on this! He'll get his day soon enough, but I am glad to have seen Larva grow throughout these years.

2:22:16 LMAO that reaction. Spoilers below: . . . . . . You can see the pain on Mini's face that he got scouted first so it's already a given that he's cheesing. But it's not over as he's yet to know if Larva did a standard build order that he won't be able to react with in time. Unbeknownst to him that Lings are on their way, and later Larva literally just let out a huge sigh of relief (2:22:34) after the Lings passed the bridge without sighting anything, meaning that Mini has no idea that it was coming. If it was spotted, Mini will block his ramp with probes and the initial zealots will be used to block Larva's ramp instead and start to play defensively. On that point, the chances for Mini to get back to the game isn't as slim as we've witnessed here.
Yes Mini was desperately unlucky with that build order. He also scouted top right 1st and then bottom right, so got the last scout a second too late. His micro was so good with the probes fighting lings, he was still nearly able to hold it for a time but I guess it was never that realistic to be able to scout with all that chaos all over the map to find the hidden base at 12oclock any quicker than he did.
I can't believe I have not watched this when it came out. I've been a Larva / 홍규 fan for so long, they even cut to my face from one of the first ASL matches I saw live. Which, mind you, was Mini vs Larva from ASL 5, 2018, where Mini won an easy 3:0. But interestingly, more people were standing in line for their pictures to be taken with 홍규, which, I have framed and on my desk. That time, I have also exchanged greetings with either Tastelss or Artosis, as they came to say hi for something funny I've written on my board I've shown to the crowd. I didn't really care about them then, but if it'd happen today, I'd take a picture with them, too.
I love the announcer so much hes fucking hilarious. His complete over the top reactions along with trying to start shit between the players is one of the highlights of these games.
Spoiler When Larva & Co. dropped FlaSh off for the military he said to FlaSh he would keep the throne for him. Way to start that off. So happy for him :-)

I've never been more happy for an ASL winner in my life. I've been following Larva ever since he was started in the PL, playing a few games in and there. It's been a long time coming, watching him grind hundreds upon hundreds of games vs Flash. Losing like crazy at first, slowly becoming a monster. Larva is the fastest efficient APM active progamer. Sometimes he gets sloppy, but when he's on top of his game, he's the only one I've seen consistently beat Flash. He's also an innovator, I remember in 2018 where he just went mass muta vs protoss, literally taking every expand and sunkening it up. I saw him play against a progamer Protoss only making lings with 2 evo chambers (in BW... not really a thing) and win. Most underrated for a long time, finally the champ.
Man... Larva "has" been grinding forever. I've watched his matches since the beginning of ASL. He played like an absolute beast in every round this season. Mini definitely had an awesome season as well. #ASL4LIFE

What a fucking cast guys. What a match. That was amazing! I remember finding Larva obnoxious for some reason in the early seasons but he has worked and worked and worked and it shows. He's a fantastic player and deserves it.

I love both Larva and Mini, and how they play, so this was a dream finals for me! This was the perfect gaming gift, as my birthday is early June! Rewatching it was a blast!
Been watching starcraft for only 3 years, but instantly gravitated to Mini as my favourite player as a real innovative, cerebral, screwball, cheesy player with top notch potential, even if protoss' like Snow or Rain at the time were having more success. Sometimes in prior season's I feel he's not always lived up to that and choked on occasion, but to watch him this season reach his ceiling has been very gratifying to see. He's really turning Z vs P on its head in the face of otherwise dominance of by the tops zerg vs the other top protoss'. His micro is second to none, and he's just a master with zealot control and getting timing attacks at +1& legs or using mass DTs. He can be proud of how bodied the defending champ Queen in both the group and semis, and how he played in this excellent finals.

The first time i ever watched an english language casting of this game was in 2009 - F91 vs Ret "Liquibition" match. Up until then it had been 10 years of watching Kespa matches without an idea what was going on. Tasteless and Artosis really have carried the torch by bringing such professionalism to English language casters. Thanks again guys for keeping our esport alive!

I feel like those background arcs after game 1 really put things in to perspective for the entire series. One had success moving forward from the early starleague days, and one had a bumpy journey as the background character who never had his moment to shine. Great outcome

great series and my favorite matchup. larva has officially evolved from a tile in the creep colony to late game defiler. cast was so good. mini is one of my favorite players to watch and he has what it takes to be a champion some day. see you when you get back, flash, these guys will keep you honest for sure.

THE CONNOR MACGREGOR ZERG WINS! SO GOOD! Mini was like a super villain this season just completely destroying everyone in nearly flawless ways. The big upsets. There was a lot riding on this! He'll get his day soon enough, but I am glad to have seen Larva grow throughout these years.

You can see the pain on Mini's face that he got scouted first so it's already a given that he's cheesing. But it's not over as he's yet to know if Larva did a standard build order that he won't be able to react with in time. Unbeknownst to him that Lings are on their way, and later Larva literally just let out a huge sigh of relief (2:22:34) after the Lings passed the bridge without sighting anything, meaning that Mini has no idea that it was coming. If it was spotted, Mini will block his ramp with probes and the initial zealots will be used to block Larva's ramp instead and start to play defensively. On that point, the chances for Mini to get back to the game isn't as slim as we've witnessed here.
Yes Mini was desperately unlucky with that build order. He also scouted top right 1st and then bottom right, so got the last scout a second too late. His micro was so good with the probes fighting lings, he was still nearly able to hold it for a time but I guess it was never that realistic to be able to scout with all that chaos all over the map to find the hidden base at 12oclock any quicker than he did.
I can't believe I have not watched this when it came out. I've been a Larva / 홍규 fan for so long, they even cut to my face from one of the first ASL matches I saw live. Which, mind you, was Mini vs Larva from ASL 5, 2018, where Mini won an easy 3:0.
But interestingly, more people were standing in line for their pictures to be taken with 홍규, which, I have framed and on my desk. That time, I have also exchanged greetings with either Tastelss or Artosis, as they came to say hi for something funny I've written on my board I've shown to the crowd. I didn't really care about them then, but if it'd happen today, I'd take a picture with them, too.

I've never been more happy for an ASL winner in my life. I've been following Larva ever since he was started in the PL, playing a few games in and there.
It's been a long time coming, watching him grind hundreds upon hundreds of games vs Flash. Losing like crazy at first, slowly becoming a monster.
Larva is the fastest efficient APM active progamer. Sometimes he gets sloppy, but when he's on top of his game, he's the only one I've seen consistently beat Flash.
He's also an innovator, I remember in 2018 where he just went mass muta vs protoss, literally taking every expand and sunkening it up. I saw him play against a progamer Protoss only making lings with 2 evo chambers (in BW... not really a thing) and win.
Most underrated for a long time, finally the champ.
Man... Larva "has" been grinding forever. I've watched his matches since the beginning of ASL. He played like an absolute beast in every round this season. Mini definitely had an awesome season as well. #ASL4LIFE
