Thank you for an informative video. I am just starting foam construction after countless years of balsa building and I find your videos extremely useful as I am still quite unfamiliar with working with foam. Again, Thanks for sharing!
Great video on tape offerings, I just picked up 2 different types of tape mentioned in the video to try out. Your videos are well detailed and presented. -Cheers
I recently fixed my Armin wing to an EA fuselage with not only rubber bands but with 3M adhesive foam picture frame mounting strips. This made a really firm bond yet they can be easily removed in a way that does not damage the fuselage or wing.
Sorry about people writing about your hand! That's not what I was watching. I have a rc Apprentice that I want to cover with clear packing tape! The other colors would work as accents!!! I sure some people who watch this have a mole on their face that people don't ask them "What Happened"? Thanks for the help!
I.m a newbie. Would you recommend putting some transparent packing tape on my nice, new Vol 500m EPP P51D warbird to protect it from upcoming crashes? Or, just in certain areas eg wing edges , tail etc. Beginner , not flown once, so any help appreciated.
Tape Bros is a good place to get tape, however on my second order...I bought a rainbow pack...and both the white rolls were nearly see-through (low pigment) and the color layer popped off in chunks...nearly all the roll , both white rolls..all other colors were fine...green was thin but usable and color stayed on tape.
Although, I appreciate the time and effort you put into this tape video, i STILL didn't get the "final verdict" for what I'm looking for and can't seem to find the answer. So, I'll ask you or anyone else who wants to give a "Definitive" answer (which is still your opinion but appreciated). Taking into consideration weight, strength, air foil/smoothness and lastly possible color options....which packing tape (brand/thickness) would be best to cover the leading edges of an older Parkzone RTF Radian glider? I just bought DUCK brand HD Clear Heavy Duty Packing Tape thinking that I'd probably end up returning it. I wanted 3mm but couldnt find any today. And also, I was looking at all the various Colored Duck Tapes (at Walmart) thinking that they would be to heavy to use JUST for looks and maybe a little protection. So, I'd appreciate ANY DEFINITIVE ANSWERS to 2 questions.....1)What do you think is the Best Packing tape for the Leading Edge of the wing of a 2M Sailplane (I'm thinking 3mm thick Packing tape is the answer. but bought the HD DUCK. (hopefully it's ok). and 2) Are the DUCK colored tapes best or better than say...Crylon Fusion (Enamel or Acrylic) paint as far as weight and spotting the plane goes? Thank you and my apologies for such a long comment/question. AE
You put a lot of work in the videos you make and they come out great. I love the foam boards planes but I think you would like a ritewing zii. The zii is the best plane I have built for fpv. Thanks for all the time you put in to E.A.
Will you do a video on how to use Lipo's in a safe way. How to charge and store. They seem to be a real danger to careless handling. It there a A123 or better flight pack to look at ?
adhesives and aluminum excellent, even glue works well.A new glue I really like and received a great write up in Consumer reports,Elmers probond advanced, rated number 1.It is none expanding ,so as a fill,it is not good. But its really nice.Lowes,Home depot etc
Can you suggest a tape to protect the epo foam on a bottom of an RC plane that taxis off of water snow ice and grass on the skid of the fuselage. I see where some have used carbon fiber but i would like something not so intense.

Ordered mine from Tape Bros. Great video. Please do more. Great help for beginners on a budget

Great information! Built plenty of scratch built birds, new to using tape for design. Awesome research and insight! Thanks!

very good quality video, excellent explanations - Thanks
I use masking tape to pick up any dust particles remaining after brushing off edges that I have sanded.
You should do a whole plane in that confetti tape.
Good stuff. Thanks for posting this info.
No Scotch Extreme packing tape? That's rather surprising considering how popular it is in the foamy community.

Great Video Ed
I have a plane cockpit made out of a thin plastic window. Do you recommend the mounting tape for a cockpit?

You definitely know your fluid mechanics! Are you an engineer?

I noticed that Tape Brothers has colored packing tape in 55yds and 110yds for the same price on Amazon, is there a difference in specifications?

*Gasp* no filament-backed packing tape ??
When you were showing your VTX are you had a orange flag. Is that a remove before flight tag..or...?
Very helpful video, thanks.
thanks Ed
there is a self adhesive foil called d-c-fix made in Germany have you tested it? if not can you please guide me
Gorilla glue double sided tape is also incredibly strong
It is! It didn't exist when this was made...
The tape is 0.2mm thick not 2mm as stated in the video. No idea that is in imperial...
