How to make tape hinges for foam RC airplanes

If you have a foamie or want to build your own airplane, this skill is a must: how to make tape hinges! In this example, we will make a tape hinge between to pieces of Depron foam board. But it can be any other kind of flat material: balsa, plywood, metal, plastic. The basic idea is always the same: two strips of adhesive tape on both sides

I feel a lot better crashing my home build airframe's that's for sure. A really big bonus once you've got a decade plus of building experience is you can design a plane from the ground up and build it much lighter and better in any way than an off the shelf product, short of a very high end composite glider built by one of the masters.

I only bevel the wing side. Not many planes need more than 45 degrees deflection.

first apply double sided tape z hinge second comes packing tape. just packing tape will get sloppy eventually
