Cause it takes time to do it…I did it by myself twice but I have pretty healthy hair so the difference was small.

Not a lot of stylist in the USA does this technique but it's very common in Japan so they don't remove the length

Honestly it looks like you more damage being done after you do that technique. I do something similar but I’m only lightly dusting the top of the hair and getting the split ends to smooth thr strand

This is a great video, James. Can you explain whether those flyaway hairs are breakage, texture or split ends? And is it inevitable her hair would grow like that given how fine it is?

How do I find a stylist that can do this technique in my area? What is the term I should ask for? (I.e surface cutting or dusting)?

I find that just showing them physically what you mean is far more effective than trying to figure out what word they might understand.

hi james , have ever tried 2 step toning on blond?
what i mean is you first apply toner that you made from permanent color+ low peroxide(2%) on wet hair
let's say it's an ashy purple like 9/16.
after 15 minutes you wash it and apply demi permanent on damp hair let's say rose gold .
it creates very interesting effect which lasts longer than toning with just a demi color.
since permanent colors penetrate deeper and stay longer inside your hair.
also it gives additional shine since demi permanents are little bit more shiny than permanent color.
