I just did this and took a hand mirror and used my door mirror to trim the back which was not easy but my hair needed it so badly if you see lots of split ends TRIM IT your hair will grow so much faster and healthier because you won’t be losing length from the split ends!!!

Do you do this on dry hair that has been shampooed and conditioned only? I usually put a leave in conditioner on my hair when it's damp. My hair is VERY frizzy where I live right now so should I straighten it to get a good judge of what's split and what isn't?

so i have pretty wavy/curly hair, which tends to get pretty frizzy fairly quickly after it dries. would you recommend i straighten my hair before doing this??
I'm no hair expert but I'd try straightening it as long as you use heat protectant spray or something because unprotected heating is what can lead to more breakage anyways. I use a gaming headset so my hair is often very frazzly. I might straighten mine to try this so I don't cut non-split ends.
My sister is a cosmetologist and she will do her own hair if she has to but usually she plans a day with one of her cosmetologist friends to do eachothers hair.

To sharpen cheaper scissors cut through tin foil until sharp.
Good tip! Would a knife sharpener work as well?
ive found that this doesnt work very well for me 😞 If you have good regular shears, i would just use a wetstone
