Asalaam Alaikum brother, JazakAllah khair for your informative video on an important topic which is often glossed over by Muslims. You mentioned using existing legal measures such as a Will and Power of Attorney as alternatives. I agree this will work for the majority of Muslims, however I wanted to point out an exception. Wealthy Muslims with assets over £325,000 at the time of death will be subject to inheritance tax, anything above this amount will be charged at 40% inheritance tax. A spouse under English law can inherit from their deceased spouse tax free - this is a significant tax benefit for wealthy individuals and doesn’t apply to any other family relation. Writing a will is important for everyone as it ensures your estate is distributed according to your wishes (the shares ordained by Allah for Muslims) but this doesn’t help the tax position in any way. Most British people (including Muslims) will not be wealthy enough for inheritance tax to affect them but there will be many cases where it applies, for example anyone who owns an average size property will usually go over the tax threshold. The affected individuals can seek specialist inheritance tax advice so they can plan to pass on their wealth in the most tax efficient way. For example they can gift and as long as they don’t die within 7 years it will be tax free, even if they die within 7 years the amount will be tapered according to a scale. As an accountant I could go into more depth regarding this matter but I will leave it there as it’s a specialist area and only affects a portion of the population but I thought it was worth pointing out for your benefit and the Ummah inshaAllah, and Allah knows best

Here in Germany there are financial incentives for people to get married, like different 'classes of taxation'. Depending on one's salary, this can easily reach up to 1,000€+ each month in tax savings. Do you think it would be justified to 'take the risk' of losing one's property in case of a divorce?
Correction in 0:40 : The Hadith of Allah’s throne shaking when people get divorced is fabricated and a false Hadith. Even though the hadeeth is da’eef does not mean that divorce is permissible and is not disliked by Allaah. Rather divorce is disliked by Allaah, and is not permissible except when there is a need for it. A man does not have the right to divorce his wife for no good reason that makes it permissible.

South Africa places economic and legal restrictions on religious marriages and doesn't recognise Muslim marriages as a civil union, civil marriage or customary marriages. After 25 years of marriage our children are still considered as born out of wedlock. Yet John and John are recognised by the law

Why should a Muslim woman agree to a Nikah only marriage when it benefits only the man zero benefit for women , it allows domestic violence no divorce rights only the man has the rights . What special things do Muslims have ? She can only request for a divorce from her husband and male judge . In shariah there is no punishment for a man who divorces his wife without any reason . No wonder majority of woman are not agreeing for a nikah only marriage where your husband can divorce you anytime take your children if they are older than 7 years and you will be left homeless unless your father and brother takes you in . Better to die than stay in a nikah only marriage
