You see, Muslims standards of public dress are based on Divine commands. What we believe should or should not be covered comes from what Allah has commanded, and insofar as we believe in Allah, we follow that guidance and strive to understand the larger cosmic significance and wisdom of those commands. Others might not believe in any of this, but at least Muslims have some reasoning that follows from higher principles.
But the Western standards of dress imposed on all are based on nothing more than cultural norms, and cultural norms have no principled basis. They ultimately boil down to, “This is just what we do,” or “This is what we found our forefathers doing and we just follow them because that’s what is comfortable.” There’s nothing more to it.
Yet, they are so confident and so militant when it comes to their views on dress, views that are ultimately based on nothing. But our views are based on the firmest foundation, yet we easily cave and throw it away for the sake of meaningless cliches about “choice” and “freedom,” cliches that fall apart with the slightest bit of scrutiny.

Let me just clarify something i think needs to be clarified here. On at least 3 occasions I’ve seen them accuse Al Andalusi for whataboutery. Clearly they have no clue what whataboutery is, whataboutery means that you justify one problem by pointing at another problem. That’s not what Al Andalusi is doing at all.. So one of the examples is the issue of a woman being stoned, when Al Andalusi responded with the fact that women are being raped in the UK. Al Andalusi is not arguing that the stoning of the woman is fine because rape is happening in the UK, what he’s actually arguing is that if crimes against women in Qatar defines Islam, then they should equally define Western values based on crimes against women in UK. He simply exposed their hypocrisy, nothing to do with whataboutery. But I don’t think they’re bright enough to understand that..

Someone give Abdullah a medal for having the patience, self control and fortitude in the face of such hypocrisy, being constantly interrupted, not being allowed to make his point without someone attacking him, and so calmly and gracefully answering them. I had to constantly pause every few minutes to take a deep breath because the way the debate was conducted, riled me so much and made me so angry, hard to imagine what he must've felt like on the spot during the unfair one sided heavily handed debate.
I have a short temper, and especially in debates, I believe when you have such important discussions, you should be respectful and polite enough to let everyone have their proper turn and have the opportunity to speak properly. When you're in a 4 vs 1 debate and are being constantly interrupted, if I imagine myself in his shoes, I'd have punched each of them in the mouth just to shut them up for a few minutes while I made my point 😂...
IF he'd being given a fair opportunity to address each of the points put on him without the constant interruption, he'd have fairly easily dismantled their points, which is why the host and the accompanied guests seemed to need to pile up on Abdullah. Hats off to the man.

As an Indian, I must say that the Niqab is worn by Muslim women by choice across India and Pakistan while it is not required by law. To assume that women wear Islamic clothing because a man is requiring them to is an insult to women's intelligence.

To the contrary the evidence that exists shows that women are not forced. This is broadly acknowledged. With regards to parents teaching their children their faith and raising them as devout Muslims there is no harm in that. When they are older they can choose. Many families have siblings that wear hijab and their sisters do not. However forcing anyone is wrong, even if the cases are few. The main problem is when countries like India and France attempt to tell women what they cannot wear. Leave it alone and focus on things that matter such as educational and economic development, exploitation, trafficking and violence against women.

@@abusuf I think education is very important, and let the woman decide if they want to wear it or not. But I think family are not able to provide reasonable quality education to their children in india due to various family reason. If one is told by their parent to do something for more than 2 decade, there is no wonder that they would do it for rest of their lives and there is no harm in it. But most of them don't get that choice because education is lacking and reasonable rational thinking has not been developed. Make them educated and accept their choice whatever they want to do.

@@saihinadir the conditions for the workers who built the stadium were said to be much better than before. To say they didn’t fulfill this promise is a very kind way of putting it. The working- and living conditions throughout the whole process were horrible + 6500 of them died..
Another thing is that Qatar said they would accept anyone, but are now not accepting people that wear certain clothes or have certain marks (on their clothes).
They also just suddenly chose to ban serving of alcohol two days before the World Cup.
There are so much corruption going on here; that to say you support this - is the same as saying you support your leaders leading such countries. It’s all based on pure corruption and lies.

🔅How is the host supporting a specific view when the host should be neutral?
🔅Even if you have the best knowledge of Islam, you won't encompass all of it to respond in detail, the interview is setup in a way to grill the single Muslim and make Islam look bad because this is the whole purpose of their media.
🔅No matter what you say, everyone who's watching this will come with an idiology within them that they will support and they will always side and support that idiology, be it Islam or liberalism.
