"mas bumata ka" means "you look younger" in your new haircut. the kind of neighbourhood you went is pretty much safe and the people are friendly and helpful...it isnt like BGC but you will meet real Filipino people there. Usually, street food vendors hang out in the corner of streets. That's why we usually say there are different kanto food like kwek kwek, squiid ball, kikiam, calamares. Because,they do not use English in everyday language, But once they stay in Native English Country, in just Few Months They will become Fluent easily. Cause kuya = older brother ate = older sister is a culture here in PH giving respect to your siblings but today kuya and ate also used to all people as a sign of respect...
