- Remember that scene in Troll 2, where the teens are watching that movie in their TV? It shows a guy in an ape costume touching a glowing egg, then getting shot in the air like a rocket! What with that? Well, that movie is called GRUNT from 1983, and it's some weird Italian caveman movie. Let's dive into the history of how I figured it out. Enjoy this Cinemassacre review!

This. THIS is the Cinemassacre I love, someone willing to dedicate his own personal time to watch something no one else will to come up with a beautiful connection between two not even popular movies. 🍿 This is why I’m subscribed.

THIS... So hard
Exactly!
Big facts.
More than a connection between two: he painted quite a _web_ of connections between all those different cheeseball Italian "genre film" sequels, sequels "in name only", and sequels "in sleazeball home video marketer renamed name only"! I considered myself knowledgeable about some parts of that web, but James showed it to be bigger than I ever knew...! 😄 And that _"Trolls_ is the true sequel to _Troll"_ thing (just like _Alien_ and _Aliens)_ was genius.
The whole movie Grunt looks like it should be playing on tv in a Sponge Bob episode
Perhaps if Nickelodeon gets a hold of it, they would.
I love this videos with only James talking to the camera. Relaxing and entertaining. More of this please!!
You mean not improvised, with actual scenes of the movie and edited? Yes, please.
James is a funny guy when he is just talking but his scripts are halarious
Yea mikes fun behind the scenes but james is the star
@@AbridgedPwned At least it seems he is into it. Most rental review he is not even there. That's why my favourite are Event Horizon and Annihilation. You can tell he is having fun on that ones. Like when he narrated his personal experience with the Blood Orgy scene at his home.

A man of culture... Diego Abatantuono is great in that movie.
@@Entropy3ko ECCEZZIUNALE VEERAMENTE
I was born in Italy and " Attila flagello di Dio " is a freaking classic there, me and my friends used to quote it all the time. It stars Diego Abatantuono in the role of Attila which was and still is a comedic actor, even if he starred in more serious roles like Salvatores' "Mediterraneo". He was very popular in the 80s and had a handful of recurring characters. His main "shtick" was playing a southerner who lived or was born in the north ,pretending to speak with a northern accent (poorly) and making fun of southerners. You see in Italy people from the north hate people from the south and viceversa, so many comedians make fun of that . I thought you may be interested .

You know that movie clip in trolls 2 where they watch a really weird monkey touch an egg and rockets off into space? I agree, this is perfectly timed.
I didn't remember Grunt!, which, according to conteporary italian critics is "the lowest point of Italian comedy Cinema", but I have to say that When Women had Tails (original title: Quando le Donne Avevano la Coda, literally translated in English) and Attila Flagello di Dio are two cult comedy movies, here in Italy, expecially the second.
Anybody, in Italy, knows that movie, and his protagonist, Diego Abatantuono, is a very well known and (nowadays) respected actor. He was the lead in the 1992 Oscar winning movie Mediterraneo, directed by Gabriele Salvatores.

“Attila Flagello di Dio” is a true comedy classic in italy, actually very funny if you understand the language. With the title “The Movie in Troll 2”, I thought this video was going to be a meta analysis.
Attila flagello di Dio is a HUGE film in Italy, it launched the career of one of our greatest actors and comedians, Diego Abbatantuono, who is very famous all over Europe. The problem is, most of the Italian movies of that time had jokes that only worked in Italian dialects or in the context of Italian politics and society of the 80s, so they're practically impossible to understand for foreign audiences, and even to younger Italian generations. But still great!
