Have you ever wanted for a FINAL FANTASY Character you like to be playable instead like any other party member? Which ones would be your ideal playable character? I'm sure Sephiroth was that for many people.
Also: 2nd video in a month to ignore Seymour when he could be included, let's gooooooo
Beatrix is at the top of my list. Banon and general Leo are intriguing to me of course. I wish the guests in 3 were actually playable. They're all pretty interesting. And I would definitely add Vossler to the main party in 12.
I only know that if FF9 gets a remake of some style, there should be an option to include Beatrix in the party somewhere somehow, she's so cool
Well, there's still hope for Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth with all it's dlc potential! Besides, we can still play as Sephiroth and Zack in VR (one mission per character, sadly).
Maybe not Rebirth, but I wouldn't be surprised if Part 3 becomes some sort of updated game with additional stuff and events and characters to play as with different challenges being the last complete version of the project
Snow is also a guest party member in Final Fantasy XIII-2, specifically in the Sunleth Waterscape. But unlike Fang in Lightning Returns, he's attacks are quite divorced from ours, not variable. If you ever get back into XIII-2, I recommend you replay the Sunleth Waterscape section after acquiring Snow as a "monster." You can have two Snows on screen if you already have Snow in your Paradigm Pack. It's cute and hilarious. They're like long-lost twins, especially when they boast in battle. I had them both fight on their own once. Sure, the fight took forever, but it was worth it.
So THAT'S why Snow's eidolons are the Shiva twins😂
Yeah, the XIII-2 3rd addition is also certainly into the AI category in my eyes, Snow being part of it is a good call as he is one of the few from that game that helps in normal story fights, because while adding the DLC fights where you can have Lightning herself etc and use them as that "monster" spot of the 3rd companion feels like a feature for special content rather than normal guests.

You forgot FF4, am I right? Characters like Cid, Edward, Yang and the sage who was killed by Golbez are temporary party members, similar to FF2
Small addition to XIITZA: various clan members accompany the team during certain marks (optional monsters to defeat)
I personally think the FF4 cast is all part of the main team. They don't even die and are still able to be used in future releases. I thought about Tellah, but the way he joins is just normal party arrangement stuff and as he is the only one to actually die didn't come back lmao
