As you may see, I didn't include FF7Rebirth because while you could say Sephiroth got the upper hand (with the execution all over the place) and I'm waiting instead for a bigger one at part 3 where he breaks Cloud AND summon Meteor not very much time into the game, which makes me hopeful to see the world being affected by this impending Doom, Lightning Returns-style, not happiness allowed (jk give me my minigames)
Now that I think about it, I need Meteor in p3 to feel an Evangelion type of end of the world with many people defeated about it (maybe at the latter parts) and we being the only ones deciding to face God without our broken will
oh Caius is my favorite antagonist of the series. Even before the end, but that way of finishing 13-2 and following in LR is so cool. If Rebirth ended at the NC instead as I always wanted I could say something similar about Sephiroth but oh well..
He remains unmatched 🫡

I hope so too! I truly have to organize my life lmao. Once I take my time enjoying Rebirth I should catch up with those in the most chill way possible. I found a way to do it without making my back hurt like before so eventually I should try again.
Although I think XIV have its recognition, it's only harder by experience to include it with the rest on general topics being so huge
I'll be honest, I'm pretty satisfied that I was able to upload this video because for the first time I can upload 13 - 2 ending which is my favorite without getting nuked. Let's goooo Caius and Seraaah
Always great to see awesome antagonists winning.
Ardyn? The most entertaining one. He plays with the gang and is obviously a schemer, but the bros don't have a choice but to accept his aid. Gets his revenge and long-deserved rest.
Caius? Perfect character with a perfect theme plays with his opponents and still wins. Goddess dead, curse broken.
The triumvirate Cidolfus-Venat and myself also succeed in their ultimate goal to bring the reins of History back in the hands of Men. "The Cryst is sundered, Age of Stones complete. From the Undying ones the World is freed."
Honorable mention goes to Garland, considering his role in Stranger of Paradise. Where he is an anti-hero. Still the very first FF antagonist.
I need to spread the love towards Caius' actions, as long as copyright allows me to.
I did thought about you but there wasn't a big sense of End of the World and apocalyptic state in XII, only a first invasion and a final declaration/battle in that part of the world, so nothing cataclysmic
@@DroWarriorOfLightTrue, though it never was Venat's goal to harm the world-but to free it from the Occuria. An "End of the World" scenario may have happened if Ashe would obey the Occuria and fight Archadia with shards from the Sun Cryst.
XIII-2 and Type-0 had the best endings in the whole Final Fantasy series imo. Well executed, the "Nothing you did this far mattered, world's screwed up anyways." kinda endings. (My favorite type, haha)
I agree with you honestly. As much shit XIII could get, its 2nd game ending was crude and straight to the point: everything's fucked up. The Caius moment later in the unlocked ending is just a cherry on top.
While Type-0 is just glorious emotional bliss with the best vocal song in a FF game, I love that and I love them (not you Machina)
@@DroWarriorOfLight Glad to see those games get love, they're unfortunately not all that popular. Type-0 got overshadowed by XV and XIII didn't really attract fans so XIII-2 didn't get as many players as it could have. But for me they're both favorites.
And honestly, XIIILR was also a gem, but the ending was a bit over the top. If it wasn't for a random space battle and it would have been near perfect imo.
Edit: Also I agree with the Machina thing, he was written a bit badly, although ( *spoilers* ) I know he was manipulated by Mother because of the previous spiral.
I am now excited of the idea of showing a world in FF7 REMAKE Part 3 that is constantly on an impending doom, as Meteor would be summoned early in the game. It would be a nice "end of times" feeling
I want that so bad now. I'm thinking of having the same locations from Rebirth but a clearly more doomed reaction/vibe (maybe except the GS lmao), so it doesn't feel it's the same 2 games in a row etc, plus the new places ofc

Don’t even get me started with Caius. He pretty much dug himself into a deeper hole than he already started out in.
I don’t really feel sympathy for Ardyn because the writing was on the wall from day one.
It was painfully obvious That Bahamut was playing him when he realized he was the ONLY PERSON who could absorb the Star Scourge into his own body. Meanwhile the Oracle has the actual end all be all method of dispelling the disease and Somnus as much as I despise him, used the best course of action in spite of the near genocidal proportions of casualties he had to endure
Well I think that's the better part of antagonist: NOT feeling sympathy. Instead just feel that things can happen at any time with them, in the same way Sephiroth kille some of your party members, when you immediatly go to the Northern Crater you feel nervous because anything bad can happen again etc.
Sympathy or Redemption are just attempts to not make them fully unidimensional like Kefka is, for example
