- How stunning are these bird hides 😱 We really enjoyed our day bird hide hoping. Mkuze is such a unique place with such beautiful scenery and well of course bird hides, and what a special moment it was having ellies come to drink at the hide. We really enjoy the peace and quiet that Mkuze brings.
I hope you enjoy this series as much as we did. We can’t wait to share everything with you!

I love your accent. Your so lucky to live so close to all this wonderful nature.
I have stayed at Londolozi and Shamwari. I used to live Pietermaritzburg so must of the sites in Natal I have seen.
The Kruger National park was great as well.
Keep up the good work most pleasant.
People cannot begin to know the exciting smells and plants.
I adore the Hadidas the best. When I hear them screaming it reminds me of SA.
Lovely video with birding content and identification. Mkuze is one of the better kept parks.
Couldn’t agree with you more! Mkuze is truly a gem! I just wish more people would see that and go experience it for themselves 🙏🏼 They deserve that.
your birds are special to watch!
Julle twee se kennis rondom voels out of this word die watergat man lekke dankie vir puik episode soos gewoontlik
Baie dankie Shaun 🤩🙏🏼
Love the birding keep it up❗❗
Thanx so much for sharing. Stunning video. Haven't been there in years. Just came across ur video and so enjoyed it. Will def follow u in future.
Thank you Linda! 🤩🙌🏼 Such a special place. It really stole a piece of our hearts. Already planning our next trip back 😉
Fantastic bird sittings and some wonderful photography of healthy looking animals.
Thanks for taking us with you on your journey!
☺️
Mkuze is a great destination for birding we have not been for a few years due to covid and the closures of the campsite. Thanks to the honorary rangers that is now open so we will be back soon. You need to camp at Nyalazi campsite outside Nyalazi gate at Umfilozi next time in KZN.
Thanks for another great video. Those are the nicest hides I've ever seen. Lots of great birds. Nothing like an elephant experience like that.
Thanks Doug! Couldn’t agree more. The bird hides at Mkuze are really out of this world!
Looks really good. As you said, well done Mkhuze staff for their hard work at the upkeep. It's certainly improved since our last visit many years ago. Really enjoying hearing all those bird calls.
Stunning place
Wow! Stunning, guys. Looks like you had the place to yourselves… I’m dying to go back there now 😅
Would love to know what photography gear you use?Your birding footage is awesome
Loving the bird content, please keep it as at least part of the focus of videos going forward! A nice change for someone like me who's a fellow bird-nerd ;)
Thank you Sean! We are also to much of bird nerds to not keep it part of our videos 😋😉
We are still very rookie when it comes to birding, but love learning more from our trips and from the comments 🤩🙌🏼
This is an absolutely stunning episode. Wow, the bird cals and video are fantastic well done. Can't wait to stay at Mkhuzi in December. Thank you.
Great video guys, definitely a place I have fond memories of. Such a pity it doesn’t seem to be well supported by visitors as these parks really rely on tourism income. Hopefully your wonderful video will encourage more people to go there and experience the magic that is Mkuze for themselves. 😊
Couldn’t agree with you more! It is a fantastic reserve, and their honorary rangers are really doing a fantastic job at getting it perfect. Lots of upgrades that have happened and are still in the works. Really hope more people will start going to this beautiful reserve! 🙏🏼 Such a gem!
I love that you are capturing the bird calls and other natural sounds. Your videos have (technically) improved a lot! Thank you so much for sharing these gorgeous locations with us. Just a tiny criticism Stacy, am sure you won't mind as you're an "onnie". Am sure all your students watch you - there's no "k" in escape. It's not "ekscape", or "ekspecially", yikes! Also, no such word as "breeded" (seen in your other videos). Past tense and participle of "breed" is "bred". I'd never point these things out if you weren't teachers.
