South African Garden Birding - Beautiful Garden Birds & Bird Sounds
It's been a while since we last posted a garden Birding video in our Vlog series, but here we go, Garden Birding in South Africa number 3! I can't say we travelled all over the place to get this footage, but we did use two locations, both in Gauteng, South Africa. The first location was Bedfordview and the second location was in Highway Gardens.
When we are missing the Kruger National Park we generally look for something to keep ourselves close to nature, and in this video you will see a variety of common garden birds, that can occur in your garden, especially if you are in Gauteng. Bird watching in your garden is a great way to get used to the more common bird species and the calls they make, and in this video we have added beautiful bird calls in the background that are only of the bird species seen in this video. If you would like to see more videos like this please leave us a comment, we can go to quite a few different locations. This was filmed in the beginning of summer on two small gardens, and it's just for the love of "twitching" aka bird watching.
In no particular order, these are the birds we managed to capture on camera, just being in their natural urban environment:
    Southern Masked Weaver
    Cape Robin-chat
    Go-away-bird
    Olive Thrush
    White-backed Mousebird
    Cape Sparrow
    White-bellied Sunbird
    Common Myna
    Cape Turtle Dove
    Southern Red Bishop
    Laughing Dove
    Red-headed Finch
    Green Woodhoopoe
We missed out on a few others, but as mentioned, please leave a comment if you would like to see more variety, we have a couple of places hidden up our sleeves!
We hope you enjoy the video! Please like and subscribe for more Wildlife and Kruger National Park videos and content!
