Loved this video it says it exactly as it is with Anthurium. Yes started out with the queen and no longer have her lol. It’s all a learning curve and plants are there to teach us the good and the bad. I’m now loving my little Anthurium collection, starting most of them off as seedlings, it’s so rewarding watching them grow from 2 leaved tiny babies into plants in their own right. 👍💚

I have both type of plants, and like both. They are very different. Like the variety of leaf shape philos have, but do like the compactness of Anthuriums. Not so fond of how ugly Anthurium leaves can get as they age, and the lack of leaves that can occur, but nothing is as beautiful, except the black velvet alocasia, as the dark velvety leaves of anthuriums.

I only have anthuriums. My easiest have been all the ones you mentioned that are not :-) and they all were my firsts :-) I guess it depends on conditions. For me they all have been light thirsty. Yes, we can manipulate the lighting to make them darker but, if you notice you will see their neck (part that attaches to the leaf) turning to the light source. I have all in a moisture retentive, well draining, aerated mix under grow lights some almost right up under it (the queen is one of them) and she is loving her life. Growing in 50% humidity.

I love my philodendrons much more over my anthuriums but your videos have inspired me to venture into more anthurium plants…I recently have purchased a new Peru imported Anthurium Monster after I swore I would buy no more. My Queen is amazing and I’ve even propagated her but other than that I struggle with my Variegated Anthurium Pterodactyl 😓 She hates me. Her roots are AMAZING but she used to have many leaves and now only has one. And just stays like that now 😢 Mere is what I call her.

I'm Colombian. AKA Aeroid Heaven. I moved to Philadelphia and I'm just learning how to grow plants indoors. I know little about growing Anthuriums, other than they, just like Begonias, are finicky and they detest changes in growth conditions.

If you want to go, let me know and I'll make a few recommendations regarding places to visit that can offer guided hikes, a little bit of beach, a little bit of mountain, etc. We have everything from Caribbean and Pacific coastlines to snowy mountain peaks to desert.
Who knows, you keep making these educational videos, you might even take a tax write off for the trip.

Got my first one a Angamericanum and it's struggling a bit but I guess my biggest problem yet is that I cant really read it? Like are the yellowing margins a lack of potassium or over or underwatering??
