      Imo it's only hyped up that much because thus far, not too many people have it. Once it comes from TC, just like the Delta Force did, the hype will be gone almost overnight. It's mostly an "exclusivity" hype.

    This was so nice to see such huge anthuriums....wow! I wouldn't know where to put these plants in my house, ha. They are so beautiful. I do agree about potting mixes for sure. I only have one for most of my plants except my succulents. I never believed in having 20 different bags of potting soil sitting at my house! Thank you both for this informative video.

      Usually the best potting media… is one in which the plant grew up in 😅 they really are adaptible to many different mediums. Its usually sudden changes that do them in.

    That Vapor pressure deficit chart is fascinating. Also interestingly, as the temperature goes down, the humidity percentage will go up, as cooler air has a lower capacity to hold humidity (and the percentage is of the air’s capacity). So if someone is looking to raise their humidity reading, lowering the temperature is a good option (within reason of course).

    Great insight and very educational. I’ve been growing these indoors for years and already learned some of these with first hand experience. However your explanation and highlight still taught me few tricks and confirmed some of my believes. Your willingness to share the knowledge and experiment with controlled variables to attain those knowledge takes tremendous effort. Most people typically are unwilling to share or refuse to make the effort to document. I think it worth the effort to write a paper out of this :) I really appreciate this episode!

    Hello, his speaking was absolutely fabulous to hear & love the information.I'm not a lover of Anthuriums( sorry) but I presently use all of his advice on my indoor plants..temp,light plus air.And what he said about the air-conditioning is spot on. In my state of Ohio our humidity indoors is 80. It was so unbearable I turned on the air knowing it wouldn't affect my plants because it dropped it down to 70. ( which is still decent) Happy to know this is why my plants is happy..Thank You, your contents are always worth waiting for.

I do not believe that plants should be hidden a tent, or shut away in a cabinet, so all of my Anthurium are living in ambient with supplemental humidifiers. Are average in home environment is 70C/50% humidity, which is great. My potting medium is also nearly the same! I may add some pumice as well. I used to add a bit of pon.

    It would be really cool if you could do a history of anthurium hybrid episode. I know its crazy at this point in time but Id like to know the history of Tim Anderson and Doc Block and NSE and Ree Gardens and such. It probably wouldn't be a super popular video but this information is really hard to find. I too love the stories behind plants and find it frustrating that its easier to buy complex hybrids (that can look gorgeous of course) but sometimes all but impossible to find a pure species.

    • @onlyplants

      Thats actually an excellent idea but Im not sure if Im up for the job lol. A sort of timeline / family tree type video would be cool to track the journey of some of the coolest anthurium we see today. I hope an anthurium enthusiast can make one. @@onlyplants honestly love the channel I always end up learning something new and truly enjoy seeing all the amazing plants and it’s definitely inspiring. Maybe one day I’ll have my lil jungle on your channel along with all my bioactive planted reptile and amphibian enclosures 🤷‍♂️

    Thank you for reminding us that plant enthusiasts who gatekeep also exist. Sometimes we/I forgot with bunch of positive plant people on the internet, there are some who are elitist and keep their collection and way to grow it close to their chest. This episode is kind of ironic because both of you are the complete opposite of each other. 😅

    Now I am actually thinking about bringing my anthuriums indoors, I was afraid that the ac would dry them!

      I just brought all of my anthuriums indoors into AC lol. Medium indirect light with some supplemented light. Crossing fingers

    • @onlyplants
      @onlyplants  5 месяцев назад +1

      They actually suffer in the high heat, high light and high humidity of my greenhouse

      Sounds like a plan...I have an area that gets light from a South facing window along a staircase, now I got a little project 😊 exciting to see how they do there! I have noticed my (Magnificum x Ace of spades) started producing leaves one after the other when I brought in indirect light in our porch, it wasn't doing anything for months when I brought it home and left it in my greenhouse, the new leaf was same size as the previous. Now they are getting bigger with every new one. I can just imagine when I bring it indoors 😅 thanks again for this, knowledge is power!
