The animation i missed was in s2. The Professor used to stand around going "nooo..." and pencilling on his clipboard then suddenly hed go "AHA!!!!" and jump. It was adorable.
Aww that animation was awesome! I used to stand there and just watch him do that over and over, can't understand why TFB would take out such an iconic character animation. :(
Dark Hollow has to be one of my favorite realm concepts. I mean, a library nestled in amongst a torch and candle lit wood at night? Talk about my personal paradise!!
Yeah were we meant to understand it was a library in the original? I don't remember the books at all! So it was one of my favorite reignitions, if you will.
I think the issue with super charge is that in you build speed and momentum in Reignited, so you have to start at the top. In the original you instantly had the right speed no matter where you started.
@@ToridoriGamingI hate to sound like a nerd but this very false BUT i think the first speed is faster then remake. If u play the PS1 u can see the smoke color changing which indicates the speed But yea it feels slower in remake i definitely noticed that
33:36 He's actually meant to be a reference to the caterpillar from Alice in Wonderland, with the slug-like tail meant to represent a caterpillar body while the bottle is a hookah.
Can confirm that in High Caves in the original Spyro you could in fact glide from the bridge to the caves off to the side. At least to the first one. And from the first one to the second one. That’s how I always did it. Never occurred to me to use the supercharge for that. ^^;
Love that you went with Misty Bog. Looking at the updated environment with all its lighting and detail and mist had my jaw on my floor. Stared at a lot of these updated realms for a looooong time. Cheers for the great video Tori!
Congrats on your successful surgery Tori, glad you are recovering and getting better. Don't worry about being late on videos, just focus on getting well. We care about your health as well💜💉🏥
The biggest problem i have with the first game is that i played the 2nd game the most and forgot you can’t hover in the first one which killed me so many times :p Nice video and recover well also
Pretty sure you can sill hover in the first one as well, reignited uses the physics of the third game I believe across all games. Simular to the Crash trilogy in that the jumping physics from the third game were used in the firs and second game
That "Shoot your goo, my dude!" reference made me spit out my water. Thanks. Now I gotta clean my computer monitor lol. In other words, this was a great list! I just picked up the Reignited Trilogy on my Xbox One and was finally able to experience the original Spyro trilogy for the first time. I can definitely agree with most on here. I'd put Tree Tops a little higher tho in my own list as I didn't have too much of an issue with the realm. It was still a bitch and a half for that last dragon though, my lord. And funny enough, I really ended up despising Misty Bog. It was those fast as hell frogs and the fact I could not for the life of me figure out the correct paths for certain platforming bits. Specifically the ones closer to the middle of the realm where all that swamp that Spyro can't swim in is. Dream Weavers and Dark Passage ended up being my favorite realms in the game. I absolutely loved the music for Dream Weavers and those wacky waving inflatable arm flailing tube men jokers (or whatever they're called) got so many chuckles out of me. And then Dark Passage was just an absolute blast for me to explore. From the growing and shrinking enemies in it, to the more linear with a few branching paths level-design it was so much fun to go through personally. Sorry for the long-ass comment, but I genuinely loved this game and had to talk about it. I'm playing Ripto's Rage right now and I'm hoping that it's just as good if not better.
- In the OG Spyro you were able to reach those areas in High Caves without using the supercharge. - Wow. You managed NOT to see the Gameplay of Dark Passage that was released way before the actual release day?! Wish I also would NOT have seen this before the release to get even more blown away! - Great List - not quite my opinion but awesome listing. - Didn't know you went through a surgery. Hope everything's alright!!!
11:34 I don't actually want to sound like a jerk, but I never even thought to try using the supercharge to reach those caves. I've always flown from the bridge to the left cave and then from the left cave to the right cave. Also, I was not really conscious of the Ice Cavern skybox in the original either. I only once remember looking at it and thinking that maybe they intentionally made it vague enough to be either a sky or the cavern ceiling.
You don't sound like a jerk, don't worry! I think it's because I originally did it that way as a kid and it worked first time, so it's been cemented in my brain as the way you're supposed to do it. :)
In Haunted Towers, I managed to defeat an enemy very close to one of the fairies and she cheered me on with a fist pump. That one tiny animation alone was enough to place the world among my favorites. It's truly amazing how much detail and effort Toys for Bob put into these games.
These colour palettes are the same as the skylanders but I don’t think anyone realised. I just know because I’ve played skylanders with my siblings also made by toys for bob. Also the dark hollows I did like but sort of hated due to Blinx the timesweeper levels usually being like that and that game was pretty terrible.
@@ToridoriGaming YAY! A reply!! I really hope you do a Q&A video sometime. I love your personality and I'd love to get to know more about you without annoying you on stream.
Tree Tops is my fave level, i like myself a challenge and it offered so much to explore and different ways to reach your goal. In OG Spyro i tried to land via super charge on different, maybe not suppose to be places and it was hella fun. I know many people had problems with it, and i agree, had my fair share of tries, fails and deaths but the other realms were sometimes to easy for me.
@@ToridoriGaming Yeah, they outdone it the difficulty there clearly, but finishing it made it even more statisfying. Sure, it was meant to be a childrens game, in which tree tops not really has a place i think XD, but it should still be challenging. Haunted Towers is a good example for difficulty and being great to explore. (i hated the knights SO MUCH)
They should have made tree tops an end game level. Progressively harder levels is what it was doing but went backwards as beast masters is before the magic realm I believe
It's funny that people find Treetops harder in reignited. I've never made the final jump to the last dragon in Treetops in OG Spyro. But I made it on my first try in Reignited. No joke.
@@ToridoriGaming Also, that jump you couldn't make later on in Wizard Peak, I made that first try in reignited but never made it in OG Spyro. Probably due to the fact that I gave up when I was 10. XD
It's harder when you know how it was since that's what you come in expecting, so it's not impressive for those who never played the easier OG spyro to do well since they have no expectations.
Toriiiiiii! I'm glad you are feeling better after the surgery. Making a major comeback with a long video too. Also, don't feel bad for taking time out. There is no shame in taking time out for yourself. Anyway, welcome back! Good quality videos as always.
This is my first time playing the original Spyro games. I never had a PlayStation growing up, but I did like Spyro himself because he was a dragon and I've always loved dragons. In fact, I had a stuffed Spyro and a Spyro bobblehead growing up. I was lucky enough to play Spyro: Dawn of the Dragon on my Wii in my late teens. Now, at 28, I'm finally able to experience this wonderful trilogy! I'm on the final battle with Gnasty Gnorc right now, but after watching your video, I'm cracking up because I completely MISSED Icy Cavern!! I have to go figure out where it is. I thought I was missing some dragons and now I know where they are! It's good to know the wonky game mechanic is not just me and is affecting veteran players. I find the camera to be frustrating at times as well as the gliding and jumping. I really enjoyed your list and found it funny that some of my favorite realms were towards the bottom of your's. I really enjoyed Gnorc Cove because I loved hitting the metal barrels at the Gnorcs. I was tickled to just headbutt the barrels over and over again and there were some really satisfying Gnorc kills in that level, like the 4 TNT in a row on the stairs. Magic Crafters reminds me a lot of Norway. In fact, when I first entered the homeworld, I thought the orange-bearded trolls were friendly citizens or something and approached one thinking it would be a NPC to talk to. Oh, no, he promptly attacked me! And I never want to experience Haunted Towers again! I love the fairy kisses, but trying to not only do that crazy jump but also get up those stairs was enough to make me walk away for a bit lol. Glad you're getting better every day!
Great video! As someone who grew up with these games, it was an interesting experience to play the reignited versions. Just comparing the two like you did makes me want to go back and do that myself- but on a blog. Misty Bog, I agree with your comments a lot. The visuals were amazing in so many of these reignited levels, but that was one of the best for sure. And I found some aspects less challenging (that stupid cave!) than others, which was nice. Tree Tops- omg- what a pain. When I played the original the first time, I died so much I got multiple Game Over screens... in Reignited, at least 10-15 deaths with that last dragon. I think what I hated most about reignited- it's very unforgiving when you make contact with a wall when you're gliding. You touch it at all, it knocks you out of the air.
I’ll have to agree on no. 1 I didn’t really care for the level in the original, but I had a really good time with it in reignited. Great video once again! Didn’t even feel like it’s 40 minutes 👍
I was hell bent on 100% -ing Spyro 1 until I got to tree tops, lost a shittonne of lives and sacked the whole game off for a month, talk about a difficulty spike!
First time I played through Reignited on PS4 I struggled quite a bit in Tree Tops with the jumps, however when I played it again on Xbox One i didn't really struggle with it... I guess learning it all from previous run helped me quite a lot (especially with Gulp in Ripto's Rage).
Just found your History Of Spyro games series and I LOVE the channel. I love Spyro so to see you've been streaming the trilogy? Amazing news :P This popped up in my recommended and im like "boom lets go"
Why does this have such few views?? It’s an amazing video and I can tell you worked very hard on it! I hope you feel better post surgery and keep up the great work on your videos!
Lofty Castle is dragon rehab It has mudada who is just mudada Baruti sounds high Useni owns the lace Kosoko isn't there because nobody knows that he does drugs
Tori I timed the amount of time it takes to say “TFB” and “Toys For Bob” and I found that it’s actually quicker to say Toys For Bob than TFB by a few milliseconds. Even if we were going to be generous, and allow + or - a few milliseconds to account for human error, they would take roughly the same amount of time to say. Under no circumstance in my testing did I find it to be the quicker variant. I just don’t see your justification for abbreviating it in spoken word. Feedback appreciated. Yes I know this is a sad waste of time, but I have a lot of time on my hands currently.
This comment is brilliant, thank you! 😂 But in all seriousness, the reason I say TFB is because it's easier to say in a long complicated sentence than 'Toys for Bob'. I slur my words sometimes if I read something long winded or difficult to pronounce, so any way to make it simpler for me is good in my book. :)
26:52-28:23 28:23-29:57 Two realms which I love, I've also got things that I like about your editing skills, too: 1:24-1:27 Such a nice sweeping shot of Ice Cavern, one of my favorite realms 1:31-1:35 Nikolai Tesla would like these Gnorcs working for him 4:34-4:38 How rude of you to talk about Mr. Purple like that 5:56-5:59 What if Spyro farted out knowledge? What then? 6:24-6:27 Friendly Fire! 7:03-7:07 I wonder if there is a good 3D model of that battleship 12:12-12:25 So he's a Nerd Cabbage, then? 17:02-17:07 Can we get a separate video of that, please 25:45-26:03 Nikolai Tesla would like these Gnorcs working for him 39:55-39:40:02 BUTT! I'd like to single these two moments out: 26:03-26:18 Fat dragons are *the best* unless there is a mod to make those fat dragons even fatter 36:28-36:38 But, Tori, bellyflops aren't scary, this ferret loves getting bellyflopped by a certain black-furred fox and a certain dragon
I finally decided to place the Dream Wavers world “Haunted Towers” as my most favourite level in Spyro 1 Reignited. Many things I love about this level such as the cute looking fairies 🧚♂️ that give Spyro a magic kiss, the colourful memorable dragons and the addition of the eerie green 🟢 glow that pulsates off the metal knights. So yeah It’s definitely worthy being at No.1 of the all 17 levels 😊
@@ToridoriGaming I'm good last week I had a nasty raging as the doctor describe a raging UTI and I had to be on antibiotics for it but much better and doing good
Great list you have a really good top 5. Lofty Castle was my favourite in OG Spyro 1 but idk I feel like in Reignited it's not as good in terms of colour and skybox. My number 1 now would probably be Ice Cavern or Haunted Towers.
You know, I understand Reignited seems easier, and I thought it was just from me being older and nostalgia at play but man, going back on OG Spyro, they did a lot of mechanical tweaking that, even though I find refreshing and fitting for a remake....idk I can't put my finger on it. For some reason, flying segments are ungodly impossible for me as opposed to the original....still love the game though and planning on 100% it soon.
It’s momentum based for the most part, ocean speedway you just have to find the sequence. I have completed it, i too found it very hard, especially getting all the boats in a row... I would tell you the sequence but I don’t want to spoil it
I honestly didn’t like some of these levels designs or obstacles because the camera was sometimes uncontrollable when either active or passive, and would always focus on *T H E M S C A L Y B U N S* of Spyro. Especially on the supercharge tracks.
I eventually realized that with the speedramp jumps, instead of pressing X at the end of the ramp, you have to keep holding down square until you are close enough and still high enough to start gliding. it's off putting, but easier once you register the change
Yeah I could tell halfway through my second play through I was starting to get the hang of it, still I feel sorry for kids trying to pull off those ramp jumps!
The jumping and gliding in Spyro 1 is so annoying now, definitely takes some getting used to. Alpine ridge was one of the worst bits because of that where those 3 islands are at the end. Like the rest of the level though
I have something to say in regards to OG Terrace Village. I think it was made to look unpleasant intentionally cause of how the Gnorc's soiled and electrified they're Swamp Dragon Home. Not to mention Spyro's doubting whether or not the Swamp was truly beautiful before said defiling. Yes, Reignited is often Gorgeous to look at but feel some the original intent was lost in translation. 'Especially in 3!' Spyro 1 is by all means a kids story but it's a kids story with an Dark Edge! It's in the line with some Dark Fantasy 80's kids films such as Labyrinth, The Never-ending Story, and The Dark Crystal. Whist Reignited is more tune with Modern Disney/DreamWorks animation/style. I gripe about how they took away that amazing bad ass moment when Spyro unexpectedly morphed into an 80's action hero plowing down machine gun welding soldiers but I do understand it;d greatly clash with the tone Toy's for Bob has. However that dose not exuse the censoring/altering of the Buddhist statues in Ripto's Rage and especially replacing Charmed Ridges Arrows with Plugers. Cause Heaven Forbid an Preteen see's an Cartoon Dragon get hit by an arrow! (But we'll totally keep the super-psycho Sorceress evil plot. Don't worry we'll have a goofy monkey talk over it to keep the kiddos smiling!) The style is not alway's a bad thing since it dose give some wonderful animation on Spyro and the other characters, but it felt off for me. Maybe I'm so use to Spyro looking whimsy yet dark and grimey too just being whimsy with just an inch of creepy it turned me off. If I'd make an complaint about Spyro 1's Remake it'd not be because it lacks some of the more abstract surreal quality's or the gliding rough thanks to Unreal Engine but for the fact that's audio isn't as good or as funny. I don't get why so many people think the OG dragons didn't have much personality/indivdaulity for it very much was there through subtle body language and line delivery. You could tell who's a passive dragon, an aggressive dragon, who's an wise dragon, and yes who's an forgetful stupid dragon. Also I miss some of the dark humorous slapstick that aroused from Spyro killing things left and right. For example removing the exaggerated reactions from the barrel dropping gnorc's in Gnorc cove made the level my most disappointing experience in Reignited 1. Also I hate how they made the once Scary Sheep Dogs in Toasty cute and how they made the once adorable Squirrel Doggos ugly as sin (In my eyes) which minus's the horror and humor of it. Unrelated Note: I actually think the Dragon Eating Plants are creepier in the OG version. Just the dead look in they're eyes and they're empty gaping holes for mouth's with the teeth of a Rabid Rabbit not to mention how unassuming they look sells the fear better. Besides it's the Dragon Eating Shrubs in Reignited's Stoney Hills (is that right?) that make me jump and Scream!
Tree tops is literally my favorite level. Very unique level, and literally the only level I actually die on. Spyro 1 is so easy, this level is a fun challenge.
A nightmare... you look forward to? But if it's a nightmare isn't it supposed to full of things you fear? Like, a dream full of bloody, macabre imagery and horrific monsters from beyond the veil of human imagination... does that qualify as a dream or a nightmare based on it's content, or how it makes you feel? Toridori, indirectly asking the real philosophical questions.
That's an interesting question. In a personal way i kind of had that with Brütal Legend, specifically the Guillotar which looks like a monstrous sloth corpse with guillotines for legs. I have a great fear of guillotines, but as soon as i learned that you could ride almost any animal in that game (spare of course for the metal hedgehog things) i wanted to ride them. And best thing is, riding them kind of helped me get over my fear of guillotines. Kind of. It was awesome riding around on them.
Just a minor note regarding tree tops. The second supercharge route that you pull off was the proper way to do it in the original as well, but your route was cool to find! I guess TFB used the original route only Also high caves, you could reach the caves without supercharge. If anything I never thought of using supercharge to reach those caves
Tree Tops is one of my favorite realms on its own but it's true that it's way more precise on RT. It was the only time in my playthrough of all 3 games that I got a game over.
@@ToridoriGaming True, True. Thanks for the amazing video btw! I wish I could support you more! Money isn't the greatest thing here, so All I can do is click on the ads. good luck!
If I'm being honest, I thought Spyro 1 was a more enjoyable game in the Reignited Trilogy than Spyro 3. The improvements made to Spyro 1 were absolutely incredible it made me really excited to visit every world! Granted, I still think Spyro 3 is the most aesthetically pleasing game of the group but the satisfaction I got playing through Spyro 1 put it up right above the 3rd game.
Didn’t like those dragon babies at all most were the same animations and ugly character models, in the artwork in the guidebook, of the dragon babies they look way better and should have used that. Didn’t like agent 9 thought he was mediocre, his jumping and movement felt awkward and shooting also felt awkward. I like that he had different camera angles in some mini games but in all he was a it lacking. Skateboarding levels were a bit broken with wall clipping issues and especially super bonus round where you oils completely clip one wall saving you about 3 seconds... characters really weren’t memorable in Spyro three, and I thought they were done worse than Spyro a hero’s tail. Namely Hunters voice and model. Bosses seemed way too easy, compared to the second game and would have liked a challenge but some levels made up for it like firework factory even though the boss was a pain.
Funny thing about Tree Tops and Supercharging, I have the exact opposite opinion. In the original, even though I knew the routes perfectly I always struggle with the supercharge jumping because for some reason the getting the second super charge would not register and I will for short on the jump, on reignited I perfect all the jumps on the first try with ease. I wonder why my experience was different. Also the undies in Gnorc cove are still there just more subtle. The "I don't like sand" edit was brilliant. lol
One thing I really hated was how awful all the super charging felt in this game... my god and don't you dare use the analogue stick 'cause it feels almost impossible to make a sharp turn, I had to use the D-Pad when charging and supercharging around corners, I feel your pain girl!
I was going through the Tree Tops struggle just yesterday. I don't know if it's an issue with my PS4 but it seems like occasionally turn inputs get dropped while charging, which made that level even more extra fun. I totally forgot about the mini map that was added in Reignighted, which might have made my life just a little easier. Gonna try and clean it up today :D
Oh my god tree tops was a nightmare. There was no way id have found those charge combos on my own. Had to watch guides and took me like 30 attempts to get both done.
I admired the complexity and creativity but there are certain issues with the controls... and my own incompetence that made it just ridiculous to 100% it. I played the games as a kid but i dont think i was as keen on 100% completing everything, never realized these combos were a thing until now.
I don't mind the gnorcs having paint guns in twilight harbor. The gnorcs in general have been so hilariously incompetent up to that point that suddenly outfitting them with serious military gear doesn't make much sense anyway.
I think if Toys for Bob could've found the source code for the three games it would've been alot better. :3 Since Crash Bandicoot Insane Trilogy had the Source Code and even the upcoming Medievil has it too. Spyro will never be the same without it. :3
Being honest, I didn't notice a huge problem with the gliding. Even when I didn't clear a jump, it always felt like my fault, like I didn't scooch far enough to the edge or didn't jump at the right time. Then again, it's been a long time since I played the original.
you have my warmest wishes, for a complete recovery! oh Tori since Medievil is being remastered I would like to ask, do you have a soundtrack, from the game you fancy more than others, and if so, which one. My personal favorite is either Dan's Crypt or The Asylum Grounds
Indeed, also Pools of the Ancient Dead or Sleeping Village. It's actually quite difficult to decide a personal favorit. They are all both grandous and ambient masterpieces:)
I had a flub or two in Tree Tops but nothing to the degree that you did. I think it's the charge that's been tweaked overall, turning seems a bit less forgiving.
I have never done tree tops the way you showed in the old one. I have always done it the way that you have to in the remake... I never needed the super charge to reach those right areas in the high caves. but I do agree with you that they messed up those two dragons. the one who says smash bugs with super charge I always saw him as this really big dragons and now to small to me. and ya the other one not being enthusiastic about the jumping and gliding is sad.
To be honest I never found the gliding and speed jump sections to be much of a challenge and got most of them in one try. Although maybe its because I never actually played the original game (started with 2) so didn't have any preconceived standards of how hard its meant to be. The only issue was in finding what the routes and jumps are to begin with. But I also agree that the longer more detailed grass makes finding gems incredibly tedious, especially in the stone hills level.
Yeah I think whether you played the original or not factors in to some of the difficulty of the jumps. Us old time players still have muscle memory left over from those games. 😂
Yay! Another list! Glad to hear you're getting better! My rundown: 17. I totally agree with you here. To me, those jumps seem to be harder to get to here than in the original. Music was much better though. 16. This level was mostly meh in my opinion. It was pretty easy to get through and it wasn't anything much different from the original. 15. Ew... this stage... It seemed harder than the original. That's about it. 14. This level surprisingly bored me... and the superflame ability doesn't last as long as it did in the original... NERD XD 13. I figured you'd put this low because of what you said about it before. I personally dislike the new rock organ used in the song and the level is a bit harder to complete. Those ice yetis also attack WAY faster. 12. I agree there wasn't much to this level. Then again it is the first level of the game. 11. Those stupid paint guns seemed to be inspired by Splatoon... Gosh, do I hate Splatoon... 10. I couldn't charge the bulls in this level for some reason... Every time I tried, I'd bounce off of the bull before it attacked me. 9. Once again, I felt this was harder than the original. It was still okay though. 8. I hated this level. This level took me the longest to beat from what I can remember. It was a pain... 7. The only thing I didn't like about this one was the death animation for the bigger enemies. 6. This was definitely an improvement from the original, from music to enemy animations to dragons. It's still incredibly easy though. 5. This level had an incredible design in my opinion. The skybox and level design were beautifully recreated as well as that awesome soundtrack! 4. I hated the hidden dragon... the knights come to life faster, and if you reached the entrance before every knight rose on the stairs, the knight in the entrance would rise and block you off. 3. I absolutely loved this level. The dogs and turtles were so cute! Although, the music wasn't as good as that electric piano during the chorus was quieted down more compared to the original if you know what I'm talking about. 2. This level was fun, but to me, it wasn't anything special. 1. Loved this level. Easier than the original, level design and animations were better, and the music sounds amazing! I'm honestly a bit surprised this was your number 1 choice. I totally loved watching this video! Hope you can make one similar for Spyro 2: Ripto's Rage Reignited!
The reignited version of Twilight Harbor is 100% the worst since they replaced their guns with pink goo blasters instead of something like flamethrowers or lava guns. The pink goo looks so out of place and completely clashes with the more intimidating atmosphere of Gnorc Cove, and everything that made the original feel like a final level where things get real as well as the whole technology vs magic theme is gone now. What's left is a silly level that doesn't even fit with it's own homeworld.
one animation I miss and im sure is noticed in other realms i just never took notice aside from this one is in the second game in the snow realm the fodder there were little walking snowballs. in the original game when you hit them in any way they would melt. which would make sense when flamed (not so much charged though) but now they just POOF! and it upsets me greatly... idk why im so upset. i think its just one of those things. and like Ben Hack mentioned that I didn't noticed but thinking back i DO realize that 'noise' was missing XD I remember always hearing him if you were close by going "AHA" and yeah i didn't :O one other thing I noticed the jumps were off too and realized (I'm sure you have by now) since they used the same basic mechanics for spyro through all three games in reignited you can now charge to do a jump in the first game which made metal head and those damn gems at the end much easier to get but in the original if you charged to do a jump you would go straight down and the charge wouldn't give you any distance. I think because of this however they nerfed the jumping in an odd way because in the second and third game you can use triangle to hover and get that extra umf. so the first game suffered a bit. not impossible but harder I suppose. The game is very much not something for new people to jump right into and made more for old fans cause the design choices does NOT make it clear what can be charged or flamed and it can be frustrating for someone who never played it before. but it was nice to play with my nephew how at like age 2 I played the first one but now that he is 10 we played the new one and he was so entranced by the colors and enemies. this coming from a kid who loves playing violent games with high res I was glad to see him be more kid like and enjoy a game geared towards his age group ;A;
Funny thing is, my name is Marco. And seeing my name there 3 times makes me feel like, “Either this a coincidence or someone out there knows I love this game”. Either way, seeing it makes me smile 😊
- Tree Tops: Oddly I didn't have too many issues with this level, at most it's just the weird layout that makes the order of doing things hard to decide. TFB did make the jump mechanics more difficult though, you really need to wait as late as possible to begin a glide. Also wow, you always used that completely different route? I would've found that impossible even on the original. XD - Dry Canyon: No mention of that super weird vulture glitch people seem to keep getting? :P - High Caves: LMAO at candle fetish. XD - Twilight Harbour: OMG the enemies get so annoying here, I ALWAYS get hit by them. Don't underestimate the goo guns! :P Also if you try to get PSN trophies, finding all six gears is a NIGHTMARE. - Cliff Town: I'm pretty sure there's a baby dragon in Spyro 3 called Marco too. :P Someone REALLY likes their Marcos at Insomniac.
That's the funny thing, I always thought that WAS the route you needed to take in Tree Tops. It's so odd that we all play these games differently. :D What vulture glitch is that?
@@ToridoriGaming Do you remember when you did the stream how when the vulture just flew up to you out of nowhere (right before the big glide to the locked chest)? LOTS of people have gotten that glitch, myself included.
The reason Reignited's platforming was so rough for you is because it takes after 2 and 3's physics more and you need to charge into a jump then glide in order to get the most distance.
Thank you Gigimave! I am planning on getting it finished (as I hate leaving series up in the air), I've just been so busy with other projects. I think I'll start it next though. :)
@@ToridoriGaming I miss that animation as well, and I really don't like how they permanently closed his eyes! I loved his goofy eyes in the originals.
I loved that animation. Something I miss in Spyro 2 is when you 100% a level it would play a flue sound. Oh well I can still mimic the sound.
That Idle animation was in Spyro 3.

My only issue is that it's too small!
I think the issue with super charge is that in you build speed and momentum in Reignited, so you have to start at the top. In the original you instantly had the right speed no matter where you started.
Yeah that sounds about right, it's bloody annoying though. :/
@@ToridoriGamingI hate to sound like a nerd but this very false BUT i think the first speed is faster then remake. If u play the PS1 u can see the smoke color changing which indicates the speed
But yea it feels slower in remake i definitely noticed that
I love Lofty Castle because the music is just so majestic it makes me cry!!!!!!!
I love the way that the fodder interacts with Spyro. Especially those lizards in Cliff Town.
And the bouncing chickens!

Oh boy, time for a 40-minute treat!
*grabs popcorn*
Bring me some too!
Can confirm that in High Caves in the original Spyro you could in fact glide from the bridge to the caves off to the side. At least to the first one. And from the first one to the second one. That’s how I always did it. Never occurred to me to use the supercharge for that. ^^;
Oh man, I made the game a lot harder for myself as a kid.. xD
Same that's how I always do it too ^^
Love that you went with Misty Bog. Looking at the updated environment with all its lighting and detail and mist had my jaw on my floor. Stared at a lot of these updated realms for a looooong time. Cheers for the great video Tori!
Thank you for watching Jack! Misty Bog in Reignited is truly spectacular, isn't it? :D
Congrats on your successful surgery Tori, glad you are recovering and getting better. Don't worry about being late on videos, just focus on getting well. We care about your health as well💜💉🏥
Hey The Lizard King, thank you! I never stop - already planning another video. :D
The biggest problem i have with the first game is that i played the 2nd game the most and forgot you can’t hover in the first one which killed me so many times :p
Nice video and recover well also
Oh lord, I can imagine you plummeting to your death multiple times... xD
Toridori yeah but it’s no prob if you have enough patience :p
Pretty sure you can sill hover in the first one as well, reignited uses the physics of the third game I believe across all games. Simular to the Crash trilogy in that the jumping physics from the third game were used in the firs and second game
Oh yes I always died because I forgot about the fact that I couldn't hover in Spyro 1
Dark Souls: *Y O U D I E D*
@@cdst1997 you literally cannot hover in the first game
Literally any dream weavers realm is my favorite
Agree with tori
In Haunted Towers, I managed to defeat an enemy very close to one of the fairies and she cheered me on with a fist pump. That one tiny animation alone was enough to place the world among my favorites. It's truly amazing how much detail and effort Toys for Bob put into these games.
Aww I never noticed that animation, that's awesome!
I LOVE this channel! I'm so glad you're getting better. Thank you so much for your content, it's amazing!
Hey Donovan, thank you so much!
@@ToridoriGaming YAY! A reply!! I really hope you do a Q&A video sometime. I love your personality and I'd love to get to know more about you without annoying you on stream.
You can ask me questions on stream, that's fine! 😀
I'll agree on that, some of the realms - even much later ones - were way too easy. But Tree Tops pushed my patience to its limits.. xD
I'm glad your surgery went well!! I hope you'll feel weel soon!!
It's funny that people find Treetops harder in reignited. I've never made the final jump to the last dragon in Treetops in OG Spyro. But I made it on my first try in Reignited. No joke.
Yeah, on my second play through I had no issues with it so I don't know what's up with that!
@@ToridoriGaming Also, that jump you couldn't make later on in Wizard Peak, I made that first try in reignited but never made it in OG Spyro. Probably due to the fact that I gave up when I was 10. XD
Some jumps are harder in reignited. But tree tops is hard anyways.
Hello Mags, how are youuuu? I missed you guys. :'(
It’s great to have you back Tori I really missed you
I missed you more!
Toridori thanks Tori that means a lot
Watched this video a few times, hope you you do it with the other 2 games! Love your content Tori ❤
Unpopular opinion, tree tops is the best spyro 1 level, by far. It was soooo fun as a kid trying to figure that one out

First time I played through Reignited on PS4 I struggled quite a bit in Tree Tops with the jumps, however when I played it again on Xbox One i didn't really struggle with it... I guess learning it all from previous run helped me quite a lot (especially with Gulp in Ripto's Rage).

But in all seriousness, the reason I say TFB is because it's easier to say in a long complicated sentence than 'Toys for Bob'. I slur my words sometimes if I read something long winded or difficult to pronounce, so any way to make it simpler for me is good in my book. :)

SO GLAD YOUR FEELING BETTER WELL WISHES STILL
Hello Dana, thank you! How are you? :)
@@ToridoriGaming I'm good last week I had a nasty raging as the doctor describe a raging UTI and I had to be on antibiotics for it but much better and doing good
Ouch! Glad to hear you're better now, UTI's are not fun. :(
Great list you have a really good top 5. Lofty Castle was my favourite in OG Spyro 1 but idk I feel like in Reignited it's not as good in terms of colour and skybox. My number 1 now would probably be Ice Cavern or Haunted Towers.
Thank you Matt! Ice Cavern was certainly a surprise for me as I never cared for it much before. :D
Agreed
You know, I understand Reignited seems easier, and I thought it was just from me being older and nostalgia at play but man, going back on OG Spyro, they did a lot of mechanical tweaking that, even though I find refreshing and fitting for a remake....idk I can't put my finger on it. For some reason, flying segments are ungodly impossible for me as opposed to the original....still love the game though and planning on 100% it soon.
I agree about the flying sections, they're very unforgiving this time around! It's a shame because that would be my only major gripe about Reignited.
Ocean Speedway can kiss my butt.
It’s momentum based for the most part, ocean speedway you just have to find the sequence. I have completed it, i too found it very hard, especially getting all the boats in a row... I would tell you the sequence but I don’t want to spoil it
Awesome Video ! Hope Your Recovered !
All good now thank you 🙂
I honestly didn’t like some of these levels designs or obstacles because the camera was sometimes uncontrollable when either active or passive, and would always focus on *T H E M S C A L Y B U N S* of Spyro. Especially on the supercharge tracks.
well done for making a video so soon after surgery
Thank you :)
Those three islands had my butt clenched for the entire glide, oh man!
I have something to say in regards to OG Terrace Village. I think it was made to look unpleasant intentionally cause of how the Gnorc's soiled and
electrified they're Swamp Dragon Home. Not to mention Spyro's doubting whether or not the Swamp was truly beautiful before said defiling.
Yes, Reignited is often Gorgeous to look at but feel some the original intent was lost in translation. 'Especially in 3!'
Spyro 1 is by all means a kids story but it's a kids story with an Dark Edge!
It's in the line with some Dark Fantasy 80's kids films such as Labyrinth, The Never-ending Story, and The Dark Crystal.
Whist Reignited is more tune with Modern Disney/DreamWorks animation/style.
I gripe about how they took away that amazing bad ass moment when Spyro unexpectedly morphed into an 80's action hero
plowing down machine gun welding soldiers but I do understand it;d greatly clash with the tone Toy's for Bob has.
However that dose not exuse the censoring/altering of the Buddhist statues in Ripto's Rage and especially replacing
Charmed Ridges Arrows with Plugers. Cause Heaven Forbid an Preteen see's an Cartoon Dragon get hit by an arrow!
(But we'll totally keep the super-psycho Sorceress evil plot. Don't worry we'll have a goofy monkey talk over it
to keep the kiddos smiling!)
The style is not alway's a bad thing since it dose give some wonderful animation on Spyro and the other characters,
but it felt off for me. Maybe I'm so use to Spyro looking whimsy yet dark and grimey too just being whimsy with
just an inch of creepy it turned me off.
If I'd make an complaint about Spyro 1's Remake it'd not be because it lacks some of the more abstract surreal
quality's or the gliding rough thanks to Unreal Engine but for the fact that's audio isn't as good or as
funny.
I don't get why so many people think the OG dragons didn't have much personality/indivdaulity for it
very much was there through subtle body language and line delivery. You could tell who's a passive
dragon, an aggressive dragon, who's an wise dragon, and yes who's an forgetful stupid dragon.
Also I miss some of the dark humorous slapstick that aroused from Spyro killing
things left and right. For example removing the exaggerated reactions from the barrel dropping gnorc's
in Gnorc cove made the level my most disappointing experience in Reignited 1.
Also I hate how they made the once Scary Sheep Dogs in Toasty cute and how they made the once
adorable Squirrel Doggos ugly as sin (In my eyes) which minus's the horror and humor of it.
Unrelated Note: I actually think the Dragon Eating Plants are creepier in the OG version. Just the dead look
in they're eyes and they're empty gaping holes for mouth's with the teeth of a Rabid Rabbit not to
mention how unassuming they look sells the fear better.
Besides it's the Dragon Eating Shrubs in Reignited's Stoney Hills (is that right?) that make me jump
and Scream!
Glad to see you’re recovering!
Quick question: Is there any correlation between your favorite realms and your favorite music tracks?
In Spyro 1 not so much, I kinda like all the songs. :D
I hope to see how you like the others. I loved a MASS majority of the dragons in this game
Actually making a video on just that, ranking the dragons. :D
See, you love my videos - I make you think. ;)
I guess TFB used the original route only
Also high caves, you could reach the caves without supercharge. If anything I never thought of using supercharge to reach those caves
Tree Tops is one of my favorite realms on its own but it's true that it's way more precise on RT. It was the only time in my playthrough of all 3 games that I got a game over.
One thing I miss though with all the Reignited realms is the backdrop (or skybox, I love that word btw) preview while you fly into them.
11:49
I NEVER used the super charge for these things... I didn't even thought it was possible to charge to there...

Spyro 3 is my absolute fave but I thought Reignited Spyro 3 was a bit rushed. So many glitches and slightly dodgy graphics compared to 1 and 2. :/
Bosses seemed way too easy, compared to the second game and would have liked a challenge but some levels made up for it like firework factory even though the boss was a pain.
personally i'd put spyro 3 on the bottom of my fav list of the 3. I agree!
The "I don't like sand" edit was brilliant. lol
That line at 25:15 made me laugh by butt off! { D Nice one Toridori!

This video in a nutshell: I hate dying because of my own mistakes therefore this level sucks.
Sure buddy suuuuure
One thing I really hated was how awful all the super charging felt in this game... my god and don't you dare use the analogue stick 'cause it feels almost impossible to make a sharp turn, I had to use the D-Pad when charging and supercharging around corners, I feel your pain girl!
It's such a shame because the supercharging combos were so much fun before. :(
I was going through the Tree Tops struggle just yesterday. I don't know if it's an issue with my PS4 but it seems like occasionally turn inputs get dropped while charging, which made that level even more extra fun. I totally forgot about the mini map that was added in Reignighted, which might have made my life just a little easier. Gonna try and clean it up today :D
You can do eeeet, I believe in you! :D
@@ToridoriGaming thank you! I actually just got it done.
Oh my god tree tops was a nightmare. There was no way id have found those charge combos on my own. Had to watch guides and took me like 30 attempts to get both done.
Did you pull all your hair out by the end of it? 😂
*inserts The Office thank you meme* My thoughts exactly!

I always remember the Ant Caves theme as being utterly terrifying! D:
Indeed, also Pools of the Ancient Dead or Sleeping Village. It's actually quite difficult to decide a personal favorit. They are all both grandous and ambient masterpieces:)
Cannot wait for the remake!
@@ToridoriGaming me neither! I hope they'll publish both the first and the second installment:)
Now I really want to play the second one, it was the one I played the least but it was so fun.
Bring back old Ajax and Cedric!
My rundown:
NERD XD
Hey Createology, love your breakdowns on my videos, it's awesome to see your thoughts! Also nice to see we agree on most things. :D
Definitely! :D Looking forward to what you upload next!
Misty Bog music is a joke
The reignited version of Twilight Harbor is 100% the worst since they replaced their guns with pink goo blasters instead of something like flamethrowers or lava guns. The pink goo looks so out of place and completely clashes with the more intimidating atmosphere of Gnorc Cove, and everything that made the original feel like a final level where things get real as well as the whole technology vs magic theme is gone now. What's left is a silly level that doesn't even fit with it's own homeworld.
But I love the goop shooters, I think it's hilarious and think it fits better with the whole vibe of Spyro. D:
Oh, whaaaa. It's not a big deal at all. It makes even less sense for there to be automatic weapons in a dragon kingdom.
one animation I miss and im sure is noticed in other realms i just never took notice aside from this one is in the second game in the snow realm the fodder there were little walking snowballs. in the original game when you hit them in any way they would melt. which would make sense when flamed (not so much charged though) but now they just POOF! and it upsets me greatly... idk why im so upset. i think its just one of those things. and like Ben Hack mentioned that I didn't noticed but thinking back i DO realize that 'noise' was missing XD I remember always hearing him if you were close by going "AHA" and yeah i didn't :O
one other thing I noticed the jumps were off too and realized (I'm sure you have by now) since they used the same basic mechanics for spyro through all three games in reignited you can now charge to do a jump in the first game which made metal head and those damn gems at the end much easier to get but in the original if you charged to do a jump you would go straight down and the charge wouldn't give you any distance. I think because of this however they nerfed the jumping in an odd way because in the second and third game you can use triangle to hover and get that extra umf. so the first game suffered a bit. not impossible but harder I suppose.
The game is very much not something for new people to jump right into and made more for old fans cause the design choices does NOT make it clear what can be charged or flamed and it can be frustrating for someone who never played it before. but it was nice to play with my nephew how at like age 2 I played the first one but now that he is 10 we played the new one and he was so entranced by the colors and enemies. this coming from a kid who loves playing violent games with high res I was glad to see him be more kid like and enjoy a game geared towards his age group ;A;
Dreamweaver’s dragons have the best names such as Mudada, Unika and Lateef
Mudada, Mudada, MUDADA!
Lateef is one of my faves. He's so cool. Actually. Just all the Dreamweaver dragons.
i would disagree with alpine ridge but MAN dark caves and misty bog were absolutely amazing
Misty Bog was certainly a surprise for me!
Funny thing is, my name is Marco. And seeing my name there 3 times makes me feel like, “Either this a coincidence or someone out there knows I love this game”. Either way, seeing it makes me smile 😊
They did it specifically for you! I wish there was a Victoria or Tori in the game. :(
Dark passage is my favorite level all in spyro
- Tree Tops: Oddly I didn't have too many issues with this level, at most it's just the weird layout that makes the order of doing things hard to decide. TFB did make the jump mechanics more difficult though, you really need to wait as late as possible to begin a glide. Also wow, you always used that completely different route? I would've found that impossible even on the original. XD
- Dry Canyon: No mention of that super weird vulture glitch people seem to keep getting? :P
- High Caves: LMAO at candle fetish. XD
- Twilight Harbour: OMG the enemies get so annoying here, I ALWAYS get hit by them.
What vulture glitch is that?
@@ToridoriGaming Do you remember when you did the stream how when the vulture just flew up to you out of nowhere (right before the big glide to the locked chest)? LOTS of people have gotten that glitch, myself included.
Ohhhh when it flew through the wall?
@@ToridoriGaming Yep!
Hey, I want to do my own list about levels from worst to best, mind if I do, i am gonna credit your video in the description of you want
No need to credit me, I don't own Spyro. Have fun! 😊
@@ToridoriGaming aw, thanks, gonna have fun
11:30 you were able to reach those caves from the edge of the bridge. Ik because I still play the original.
I love Dark Passage!! It's easily number 1 for me!
But i like your list
Partial to fairy magic you say? Thats why she loves me lol.
I love me Thomas fairy. ;)
The reason Reignited's platforming was so rough for you is because it takes after 2 and 3's physics more and you need to charge into a jump then glide in order to get the most distance.
Yeah literally I noticed that too
10/10 for top tier star wars meme
Why thank you! ;)
Will this series be continued? I would love to hear your opinion on the realms in the other games as well. best spyro vid on yt
Thank you Gigimave! I am planning on getting it finished (as I hate leaving series up in the air), I've just been so busy with other projects. I think I'll start it next though. :)
21:08 I choked... brilliant xD
It's coarse and rough and irritating and it gets everywhere, ya know? :/
We hope that you will make a full recovery soon!
Hello Phoenix Dragon! I'm pretty much back to my normal self now, just a bit of soreness and stuff but that's to be expected. :)
