Just to make things a little bit more clear, being at the bottom does not mean I hate/dislike the level and those at the top are not the end-all be-all of Spyro levels. In the end some times it just comes down to how much fun you had and how memorable it was.
I drastically disagree with one thing you said through a good part of the list: the time it took a level to be finshed. The beauty of Spyro to me is that you can actually speed-run it in minutes. A level is well designed cause is not a long track but it's a world. A world that you complete in 10 min.. 2 if you know what to do. But if you wanna collect everything it will require at least 40 mins. I don't think that saying "it takes 2 min. and i know that are other missions but stiiiiill..." is a fair point, in all honesty. The core of Spyro is the variety of things to do. It's not Crash designed for be "go from A to B".
I'm yet to get to that level. I hear it's hard, but I expet it will be fun for me. I enjoy the speeways, and theyr'e kind of hard, compared to the rest of the game.
As someone who is a longtime fan of the original, I love all the levels but treetops is unique in the game and that makes it awesome. It is also one of the levels that highly rewards the player for getting very good at the movement system within Spyro.
Okay, you lost me when you put Ice Cavern at the bottom. (yeah, I didn't make it too =P ) I know I'm not alone when I say that this level is absolutely gorgeous in reignited. Granted, most of the levels fit this description, but in this particular instance they nailed the mood and ambiance and it was one of the [many] worlds I had to stand back and admire for a moment. Dark Hollow too?! That's strike two!
I'll admit that Ice Cavern was one of those levels that carried over some of the baggage I had with the original game and maybe you're right that I should have looked at the overall art and mood a bit more, but in the end I just felt like it left so little of an impact on me. Hope you can understand.
In the 90s we never had a PlayStation (we had the N64) so missed out on Spyro first time around and the remaster is my first time ever playing that series. I can honestly say it is one of the most enjoyable series of games I’ve ever played!
-The cowlick missions are tedious and not fun at all -The level is way too big for it's own good -I personally had to scour the level for an hour to find one single green gem that was completely hidden in the grass, so fuck that level in particular
I loved the cows when I was a kid because I could just send them flying over the place with the superflame, but now they're just dumb, and those missions are boring as heck. I hate those bomb-spewing tiny birds at the beginning, and the level itself I find it devious rather than fun to navigate through. If it wasn't enough, I grew tired of the music, and that's a hard pass for me. So Zephyr can just go to hell.
Ice Cavern would be in my top 10. It's huge with a lot to explore and it looks amazing. I really like Terrace Village but that might just be because I really love how the sky looks because green is one of my favorite colors. I agree with you on Dark Passage. It's beautiful and lots of fun to explore and the enemies are great. It's definitely my favorite from the first game. I spent a lot of time just looking at the sky in the level when I first played it.
My Top 10: 10- High Caves. I loved how open it was, with a lot of Supercharge exploration and dealing with the almost invincible spiders. 9- Haunted Tomb. Mostly the side missions felt very cool, and also the snake slide, while short, was quite fun. 8- Seashell Shore. The metal shark battle, the Sheila fort, the clean-up pipe, it had incredible minigames. Probably the best water-based level in the trilogy. 7- Haunted Towers. Those armored dudes were intimidating as hell, and it had an amazing supercharge hidden section that felt extremely rewarding to do. 6- Icy Peak. It was gorgeous to watch, with fair ice mechanics, good hidden gem stuff breaking the ice, and with the best escorting mission with the dancer and a neat supercharge area to chase the speeders. 5- Metropolis. It had a great futuristic setting, an awesome double power-up and a lot of challenging stuff to do, a great last-normal level experience. 4- Skelos Badlands. The dinosaur missions were absolute gold, and we have the dancing skeleton as well, pair that with some well balanced enemies and you have a wondrous level. 3- Fracture Hills. It's an awesome level that grants hard challenges, paired up with some cool enemies and neat atmosphere. 2- Enchanted Towers. This level really grew on me, it has an amazing atmosphere, a lot of exploration to do, even plot-wise it felt nice, and having the so-called secret animal section be to just swap and use Byrd really felt gorgeous. Not to mention, the skate park here is impressive. 1- Tree Tops. I think it's the definitive Spyro 1 experience, with a lot of decision-making right from the get go, branching paths, hard and rewarding supercharge and awesome environment.
List of top levels, and my absolute favorite is second to the bottom... I genuinely cannot put any game from spyro 2 or 3 above 1 because future installments make you backtrack on the levels to complete them, which is incredibly tedious.
It's not that tedious because usually they tell you what you need so you can do everything else and know when to come back for the one thing you're missing. It's not something like Banjo Tooie where there's several parts that seems impossible and you need to visit eight other levels or figure out that it's connected to some esoteric and situational move you obtain half the game later.
And there’s me that loves ALL levels. Why? Because I made my childself proud by getting 3 Platinums and proving that I’m still a Spyro master. Besides…ALL OF DIFFICULT LEVELS! WHAT DO YOU SAY NOW?! I HAVE CONQUERED YOU ALL OVER AGAIN PERFECTLY!!!
Been waiting for someone to do a list like this and nearly considered doing one myself. Have to say this was very well put together and I enjoyed it immensely. I can definitely see your channel being one to watch for the future 👌
Best: Tree Tops and Dark Hollows... yet a genius critique anyway. (The Music of the first Spyro was... is the best : choose original soundtrack in the sound settings). Thanks for sharing !
4:17 I know I’m 4 years late but I just replayed Spyro 1 on my PC and the one thing that I would say could’ve bumped Dark Hollow up a little bit is the music. Even though I agree it’s a little small, cramped and it’s over in under a minute, you have to admit for a level that is in a game that you have to go around flaming and charging enemies, the music in that level is very peaceful and relaxing
That was a very quick 19 minutes, must've enjoyed it! Quite surprised to see some of my favourite levels so low down the list, for example 'Dark Hollow' and 'Ice Cavern' are two of my favourites from the first game. Also Bamboo Terrace rocks. I agree with Molten Crater being at the bottom though as it's too short and a little bit boring.
Love your videos ! The spyro trilogy are my fav. Best games ever ! Had so much fun playing with my mama and my brother when i was younger.. Was so magical and intriguing , and at times scary to me, but amazing. I now have the reignited trilogy and played them through last christmas :) it was a great time, was cold and snowy outside and i was drinking hot cocoa in my new christmas jammies, surrounded by all my christmas presents, playing reignited with my boyfriend cause he never played as a kid ! So he got to fall in love with the game too :) ( hes the one that got it for me because of how many times and how fondly i brought it up) and it was just as awesome playing reignited this last christmas with him ! He LOVED it too and we had so much fun..it was so cool to see someone getting to explore the worlds/ minigames / little secrets and the inhabitants in the worlds for the first time... He then said he really wishes there were more spyro games, or games similar to them. I am so greatful for these games really. Used to play with my mom and id get home from school and shed have a tray of juice and snacks ready for us all ehen we got home from school so we could play spyro and have snacks.. Shed already be sitting on the floor in front of the tv waitng for us and playing it :') walked in one time and heard " NO SHIT IM HAVING TROUBLE WITH THE TROLLEY! Ugh!!" hahha... My mom was so sweet. She loved playing these games with us too.. She overdosed this year and i really wish we could have played together one last time :'( we had so much fun
By the second level (Ice Cavern) you completely lost me and I disagree with most if not all after that point.... These are gonna be some unpopular opinions
Dark Hollow is pretty much the best imo. Yes it's short - it's meant to be one of the first levels you enter, after all. But it functions as an absolutely brilliant introduction to the world. It has a tonne of mystery to it (who owns the library? Are they magic books? Why is it in the woods? Why is that little underground sanctum there?). It also has a banging soundtrack.
Frozen Altars was my favorite from the music alone but the level itself was dope to me too. My other favorite was the 1 with cowboy dinosaurs when i was younger
Can’t believe Cloud Temple isn’t higher! The music is sublime and the art style in the remake is so beautiful. Also Agent 0 is one of the funniest characters.
I don't know? Tree Tops, Crystal Island and Fracture hills where all in the top 15. I personally find those to be some of the hardest, if not the actuel 3 hardest levels in the entire trilogy
@@mariokarter13 I actually really appreciate this comment. It explains a lot about how words are pronounced in French that I never understood before. I thought it was more or less random and a situation where you had to memorize which letters were silent when.
YES!!! Zephyr is in the top 3!! It’s always been my favorite world to visit again and again It’s fun, open, and the music is very energetic and memorable
I agree with your list ☺️ Also in my opinion, there really is no level of the 3 Spyro games both in the Original and Reginited that can be disliked. I feel each level is unique and playing it on the original in the 90s as a kid really made the entire series enjoyable and memorable.
Opinion when I was 6 My least favorite is Hurricos by far, but my favorite would have to be Magma Cone. Purely for the music in the original game. Opinion currently (I'm 16) My least favorite is still Hurricos but my favorite would have to be Cliff Town
I love Hurricos, but in a different way. I mean, I couldn't care less about it as a level but I love its vibe, it makes me feel so damn melancholic. I believe it's because of the grayish sky and the drizzle over that green field, accompanied by that kinda blues music that I enjoy a lot. It has a beautiful landscape, only for that reason I'd defend it. Otherwise, it'd just be a meh level with some decent platforming in a couple of spots.
im kinda late but personally i love magma cone except for the music remake. it just sounds like someone moaning inside of a toilet in a dark empty room
Liked the video ! I disagree with almost all of it hahah but i always love spyro videos and you seem sweet. :) always love hearing other people's opinions and thoughts of spyro and the levels. Subscribed! One of my favorite levels of all is Charmed ridge :) " where have you been jammes!?!?! We were supposed to meet in the temple an hour ago !!" my brother used to have a crush on that little fairy that was dating Sgt.byrd haha. And bianca. I also LOVE mystic marsh and icy peak. Icy peak might be tied with charmed ridge for me. Mystic marsh is my favorite when playing the original riptos rage, because of the colors, its all purple and light colored and mystic hahaha. The reignited colors arent as good in my opinion, but i still love the level . also LOOVE skelos badlands. Really not a fan of fracture hills lmao like the level is beautiful and cool but ugh i just dont really like any of the challenges. And that fuckin bagpipe music..
I think its more appreciating to know that people still like your work even when they disagree with you on something. Pressure is sure to be on for the next list...
I hated a lot of Spyro 2 levels due to the amount of backtracking I needed to do and boring side quests. I wanna finish a level in one go, not have to come back three times
My favorite levels for each homeworld in each game (just because a top ten feels too hard to make): - Spyro the Dragon: Toasty (Artisans), Ice Cavern (Peace Keepers, my least-favorite homeworld of the first game, though), Wizard Peak (Magic Crafters, my favorite homeworld of the first game), Tree Tops (Beast Makers-one of my favorites of all-time, and I get through it very quickly now thanks to that shortcut), Dark Passage (Dream Weavers), Gnasty's Loot (Gnorc Gnexus) - Spyro 2: Ripto's Rage (my first-ever video game, by the way): Colossus (Summer Forest), Breeze Harbor (Autumn Plains), Cloud Temples or Metropolis (Winter Tundra, my favorite homeworld of the entire series, with Autumn Plains and Magic Crafters not far off) - Spyro: Year of the Dragon: Cloud Spires (Sunrise Spring, my favorite homeworld of the game), Enchanted Towers (Midday Gardens), Fireworks Factory (Evening Lake-and Fireworks Factory is one of my favorite levels, if not my top level, in the series, though I hate that Agent 9 minigame), Crystal Islands (Midnight Mountain-least-favorite homeworld of the game) Least favorites: - Spyro the Dragon: Stone Hill (Artisans-good level, just not my favorite of the first few), Dry Canyon (Peace Keepers), Blowhard (Magic Crafters), Misty Bog (Beast Makers), Lofty Castle (Dream Weavers), Gnorc Cove (Gnorc Gnexus) - Spyro 2: Ripto's Rage: Hurricos (Summer Forest), Scorch, Shady Oasis, or Zephyr (Summer Forest), Mystic Marsh (Winter Tundra) - Spyro: Year of the Dragon: Molten Crater (Sunrise Spring), Spooky Swamp (Midday Gardens), Lost Fleet or Charmed Ridge (Evening Lake), Agent 9's Lab (Midnight Mountain)
I'm only on the first game in the reignited trilogy, and I don't remember the originals well, but I suppose I could rank Spyro the Dragon Best: Artisans- Dark Hollow Peace Keepers- Ice Cavern Magic Crafters (best place)- Wizard Peak Beast Makers- Misty Bog Dream Weavers- Jacques Gnorc Gnexus- Gnorc Cove Gonna put Fireworks Factory as an honorable mention Now for the worst realms: Artisans- Town Square Peace Keepers- Cliff Town Magic Crafters- High Caves Beast Makers- Terrace Village (great in the original) Dream Weavers- Lofty Castle Gnorc Gnexus- Twilight Harbor
I just recently finished the reignited trilogy and I have to say since I played them again after waiting 15 years since the original I can die with no regrets whatsoever
Omg that song from Fractured Hills... i kinda hate it to be honest :p Once is fun, twice is okay, but all the time after you rescue one it just gets annoying to me haha
My biggest upset was how low Lofty Castle was. It's probably my favorite level for the slammin' soundtrack and nonsensical structure. I also really love the name.
I don't like Tree Tops but I prefer it in Shadow Legacy and Dragon Shores in Shadow Legacy is better too same as Coastal Remains in Spyro A Hero's Tail.
Fireworks Factory was the last level I played before I quit as a kid and it was great. My favorite is Tree Tops, with Wizard Peak and High Caves tied for second.
im on a bit of a spyro kick rn and been watching a lot of vids about it, i definitely agree with a lot of comments here about ice cavern being a fav. it was refreshing to go from the desert hub with other desert portals to an icy world. though replaying it again with the remastered version it is a lot simpler than what i remembered as a kid lmao
Top levels for me in no particular order: Metropolis Haunted towers Lofty castle Tree tops Dark passage Cloud temples (Huge spyro the dragon 1 fan here, less for spyro 3)
I got stung by a weever fish once and that was more fun than Fracture Hills! It's all subjective I suppose but that has to be bottom or not far of for me.
From a fellow brit spyro mega fan THANK YOU for saying Gateway to Glimmer 🤩🤩🤩 Don't really agree with your ranking however everyone's nostalgia and love for the game is different. I wouldn't rank a level low because of its difficulty like you did with the tomb level from spyro 3, just because the enemies are a little spammy and it's harder than most it doesn't mean its a bad level. It's meant to get you aggravated. The music in all 3 games is fantastic INCLUDING MAGMA CONE! I spend my life humming and singing all of the soundtracks from these games😂😂 apologies if the music you're discussing is the new soundtrack as I switched it straight to original the second the game downloaded 🤣
I like your idea of excluding boss levels, homeworlds, speedways, and side characters. If I were you, I would also exclude the boss levels in Spyro the Dragon. I would've liked it if levels are ranked in each game separately. I would've also liked it if music was ranked separately. Personally, my favorite levels in no particular order are: 1 Desert ruins 2 zephyr 3 misty bog 4 mystic march 5 enchanted towers 6 haunted towers, 7 spooky swamps, 8 seashell shore 9 charmed ridge 10 fireworks factory
Lemme send my top 10 aswell, since i like yours a lot :) 1. Cloud Temples 2. Zephyr 3. Fireworks Factory 4. Scorch 5. Misty Bog 6. Haunted Towers 7. Charmed Ridge 8. Desert Ruins 9. Seashell Shore 10. Robotica Farms I only really hate 1 level from all of the three games, which is Mystic Marsh. Just..... ughhh that charge minigame.....
I think the clash between Metalhead and his level design is intentional. Beast Makers is a very nature and biodiversity themed hub and having a technologically advanced robot and machinery feels like it's something to be got rid of in that setting.
I'm kind of in the middle here. Some of your comments I do agree with while others I don't. My main reason for the disagreements is I mainly the environment designs, the colour schemes and music rather than the enemies and difficulty of the level. For example Dark Hollow is more nostalgic for me than Stone Hill for those reasons. Yet I do agree that it is far to short of a level. Your video was great and I love how you presented your points, kept me interested until the end.
Cheers, looking back I do wish I could have expanded my comments on certain levels so as to give some better clarity but as you can tell there was a lot to get through. Really enjoy reading about peoples disagreements so as to shed light on potential details people account for more in a Spyro level.
@@hotcoss I understand. I to enjoy seeing what people have to say about the reignited trilogy, seeing how much they like or dislike what TFB have done to their fave characters, levels and enemies. It really shows how much we loved the original games. Thank you for taking the time to reply back. Much appreciated
It might have been one of the easiest, but dark hollow was probably my favorite level overall. Between the music, the lighting, the colors, the gameplay, and even the level design. I loved that level. Also, Ice cavern was pretty good too.
I don't mind Twilight Harbor in Spyro 1. In fact, I think it's a better idea that the creators switched the guns the Gnorcs were using to some kind of Ooze guns. Nothing against guns, but gun safety is a HUGE deal. But as for both original and Reignited games, I have my likes and dislikes about certain levels, but the Spyro Trilogy overall was the very first game I played in which I completed the game entirely. And so many good nostalgia in it, especially with Tom Kenny playing the voice of Spyro in all five of the games. The very first game, Spyro was voiced by Carlos, who did the voice of Rocko from Rocko's Modern Life. Little fun fact for you there! ^^
Unpopular opinion, but Zephyr is my least favorite level in the whole trilogy. I just found the cowlicks a drag to do and the seeds were boring as hell. Really don't see the appeal personally. Loved the ice Caves though!
Favorite 10 in no particular order: Dark Passage Aquatic Towers Fireworks Factory. I slightly like the original version of this level better due to the dragon mission being less broken feeling. The original was one of my favorite missions, but the reignited version is just annoying. Other than that I love the other missions in this way more than the original. Hurricos. Undoubtedly one of my favorite soundtracks and atmospheres Cloud Temple (awesome) Ice Caverns Doctor Shemp Cloud Spires Fracture Hills Aquaria Tower Dark Hollow Honorable Mention: Thieves' Den and Monkey Monastery Enter the Dragonfly was pure garbage, but if they ever decide to remake that game and make it better, Thieves' Den is the one I look most forward to. It had my favorite missions, soundtrack, and authentic in the whole game. Monkey Monastery while not as interesting, also had excellent music and atmosphere.
Just to make things a little bit more clear, being at the bottom does not mean I hate/dislike the level and those at the top are not the end-all be-all of Spyro levels. In the end some times it just comes down to how much fun you had and how memorable it was.
I absolutely hated Tree Tops. And there's something charming about Dark Hollow imo.
I don't think I'd be able to narrow down a specific level in Spyro that was my favorite, but as a whole I pretty much loved all of Magic Crafters.
It was the perfect twist at that point in the game, both for the art and gameplay with all the moving platforms.
I love wizards peak specifically! One of my favorite in the game
I feel so weird. I hecking loved ice cavern
Me too. It was my favorite peacekeepers level.
Same
Yeah, it’s my favorite personally. He got me right in my icy heart 💙💔
It was one of my favorites from the first game too.
Me too it was one of my favourite worlds in the first game
I drastically disagree with one thing you said through a good part of the list: the time it took a level to be finshed.

The core of Spyro is the variety of things to do. It's not Crash designed for be "go from A to B".
Aw man, Dark Hollow is one of my favorites! Yeah it's short, but between the music and the night setting, I just kinda wanted to live there. ^_^
Same, I played that one first and it felt so wonderful!
The greatest soundtrack of all the levels, for sure. Plus Dark Hollow has so much mystery to it. One of my faves for sure.
thats pretty much my first memory of spyro looking back, Dark Hollow
I keep the Reignited Dark Hollow theme on my PS4. Listen to the theme whenever I boot up.
this man is insane. How can anyone like the impossible jumps of tree tops
solar tree tops sucks
Zigor Campos ikr
Once you memorize it and do it enough, it gets easy and kind of fun.

I'm half joking, dw ;p
Each to their own, of course.
I took quite a few chances to be baffled by the way the gems glittered like alighted starlight.
I LOVE Ice cavern and dark hollow !
Dark hallow is cool in reignighted, but pretty bare bones in the orrigional.
Putting ice cavern in 2nd last is insane. Its a great level and way better than most of the other levels in that realm that follow the same theme.
In the 90s we never had a PlayStation (we had the N64) so missed out on Spyro first time around and the remaster is my first time ever playing that series. I can honestly say it is one of the most enjoyable series of games I’ve ever played!
15:25 I have never had more frustration in my life
7:01
Zephyr, whilst visually appealing is one of my most hated levels. Those stupid cow things and the noise they make drive me insane!
I absolutely hate Zephyr, and have not liked it since I was a kid
Those fucking elephants or whatever they are. I dread having to play that level.
-The cowlick missions are tedious and not fun at all
-The level is way too big for it's own good
-I personally had to scour the level for an hour to find one single green gem that was completely hidden in the grass, so fuck that level in particular
I used to love messing with them and glitching them to kingdom come 😅
I loved the cows when I was a kid because I could just send them flying over the place with the superflame, but now they're just dumb, and those missions are boring as heck. I knew from the very beginning that fireworks factory HAD to be #1
Ice Cavern would be in my top 10. It's huge with a lot to explore and it looks amazing. Oop, Ice Cavern was one of my favorites and my boyfriend’s favorites from the original
its very basic for the ice level, crystal glacier, icy peak y frozen altars is more god
And there’s me that loves ALL levels. Why? Because I made my childself proud by getting 3 Platinums and proving that I’m still a Spyro master.

And on that moment a single tear fell from my face, and my heart lit up.

sorry for the shameless plug, delete it if you want

I'd give Frozen Altars a lot of extra points only for its gorgeous music. Easily one of the best themes in the entire game.
Colossus remains one of the most memorable levels for a good reason, and then immediately a bad reason of the go's awful ice hockey minigame
I was hoping for either Metropolis or Zephyr because those are my favorite levels in the original trilogy

SeanKennedy100 yeah my favourite level was fairly low too, but hey at least we all enjoy the game and have our own personal experiences with it :)
Yeah, gotta agree with all the comments. Ice Cavern is amazing
"On a side note, what is it with game having quests based on Romeo and Juliet all the time?"
Nier Automata: **sweats nervously**
Juliet had a mans voice in the original ripto's rage.
Firework factory as #1? That's one of my least favorite levels. Mystic Marsh is my favorite.
Ok ok I just played Ice Cavern for the first time like 5 minutes ago and I gotta day I loved it
Frozen Altars was my favorite from the music alone but the level itself was dope to me too. My other favorite was the 1 with cowboy dinosaurs when i was younger
Can’t believe Cloud Temple isn’t higher! The music is sublime and the art style in the remake is so beautiful. Also Agent 0 is one of the funniest characters.
I feel like he's putting down levels that were 'hard'. I love challenges
I don't know? Tree Tops, Crystal Island and Fracture hills where all in the top 15. I personally find those to be some of the hardest, if not the actuel 3 hardest levels in the entire trilogy
Nah he has some of the harder ones like tree tops near the top
Bruh Molten Crater below Haunted Tomb is insane. Molten Crater is basic, but nowhere near bad.
1. Tree Tops
2. Ice Cavern
3. Lofty Castle
4. Desert Ruins
5. Seashell Shore

I got recomended this video after watching the guy ranking all the 188 spyro levels in all games, and it's interesting to see nother classment
I loved ice cavern and dark hollow in reignited is utterly magnificently beautiful.
The S at the end of Jacques is silent. You wouldn't call a guy called Jack "Jacks."
It's a French name. You don't pronounce consonants in French words unless they're followed by a vowel.
S'il vous plait is "see voo play" for example.
@@mariokarter13 Thanks, but I do speak French. That's why the mispronunciation of Jacques irked me so much.
@@mariokarter13 I actually really appreciate this comment. It explains a lot about how words are pronounced in French that I never understood before. I thought it was more or less random and a situation where you had to memorize which letters were silent when.
YES!!! Zephyr is in the top 3!!
It’s always been my favorite world to visit again and again
It’s fun, open, and the music is very energetic and memorable
How do you not have more subs??? This is the kind of quality I see from channels with 500k to millions of subs
Ice cave forgettable? It has one if the best secret glides in the trilogy.
I agree with your list ☺️
Also in my opinion, there really is no level of the 3 Spyro games both in the Original and Reginited that can be disliked. I feel each level is unique and playing it on the original in the 90s as a kid really made the entire series enjoyable and memorable.
Opinion when I was 6
My least favorite is Hurricos by far, but my favorite would have to be Magma Cone. Purely for the music in the original game.
Opinion currently (I'm 16)
My least favorite is still Hurricos but my favorite would have to be Cliff Town
I love Hurricos, but in a different way. I mean, I couldn't care less about it as a level but I love its vibe, it makes me feel so damn melancholic. I believe it's because of the grayish sky and the drizzle over that green field, accompanied by that kinda blues music that I enjoy a lot. It has a beautiful landscape, only for that reason I'd defend it. Otherwise, it'd just be a meh level with some decent platforming in a couple of spots.
I think all the levels are great I couldn't rank them, but there is one level i despise, spooky swamp.
Such a strange ranking. almost like they've just been listed randomly.
My favorite is actually Cloud Temples xD
Me too!
It's definitely in my top 10
im kinda late but personally i love magma cone except for the music remake. it just sounds like someone moaning inside of a toilet in a dark empty room
Pressure is sure to be on for the next list...
ice cavern wilil always be one of my favorite levels. its just so satisfying for my tiny brain to complete
Hey, hot take, but why do people complain about Handel and Greta’s design in Reignited? I personally think they’re adorable!
Personally my favorite is tree tops. Imaginative as far as the supercharging goes and forces you to think.
I am 6:44 in and am appalled of the treatment of Spyro 1
I can't believe that you put desert ruins up so high. I feel like we're playing a different game entirely.
I hated a lot of Spyro 2 levels due to the amount of backtracking I needed to do and boring side quests. I wanna finish a level in one go, not have to come back three times
My favorite levels for each homeworld in each game (just because a top ten feels too hard to make):
- Spyro the Dragon: Toasty (Artisans), Ice Cavern (Peace Keepers, my least-favorite homeworld of the first game, though), Wizard Peak (Magic Crafters, my favorite homeworld of the first game), Tree Tops (Beast Makers-one of my favorites of all-time, and I get through it very quickly now thanks to that shortcut), Dark Passage (Dream Weavers), Gnasty's Loot (Gnorc Gnexus)
- Spyro 2: Ripto's Rage (my first-ever video game, by the way): Colossus (Summer Forest), Breeze Harbor (Autumn Plains), Cloud Temples or Metropolis (Winter Tundra, my favorite homeworld of the entire series, with Autumn Plains and Magic Crafters not far off)
- Spyro: Year of the Dragon: Cloud Spires (Sunrise Spring, my favorite homeworld of the game), Enchanted Towers (Midday Gardens), Fireworks Factory (Evening Lake-and Fireworks Factory is one of my favorite levels, if not my top level, in the series, though I hate that Agent 9 minigame), Crystal Islands (Midnight Mountain-least-favorite homeworld of the game)
Least favorites:
- Spyro the Dragon: Stone Hill (Artisans-good level, just not my favorite of the first few), Dry Canyon (Peace Keepers), Blowhard (Magic Crafters), Misty Bog (Beast Makers), Lofty Castle (Dream Weavers), Gnorc Cove (Gnorc Gnexus)
- Spyro 2: Ripto's Rage: Hurricos (Summer Forest), Scorch, Shady Oasis, or Zephyr (Summer Forest), Mystic Marsh (Winter Tundra)
- Spyro: Year of the Dragon: Molten Crater (Sunrise Spring), Spooky Swamp (Midday Gardens), Lost Fleet or Charmed Ridge (Evening Lake), Agent 9's Lab (Midnight Mountain)
I'm only on the first game in the reignited trilogy, and I don't remember the originals well, but I suppose I could rank Spyro the Dragon
Best:
Artisans- Dark Hollow
Peace Keepers- Ice Cavern
Magic Crafters (best place)- Wizard Peak
Beast Makers- Misty Bog
Dream Weavers- Jacques
Gnorc Gnexus- Gnorc Cove
Gonna put Fireworks Factory as an honorable mention
Now for the worst realms:
Artisans- Town Square
Peace Keepers- Cliff Town
Magic Crafters- High Caves
Beast Makers- Terrace Village (great in the original)
Dream Weavers- Lofty Castle
Gnorc Gnexus- Twilight Harbor
Dark Hollow is my favorite level. There is something so nostalgic about the music
Obviously this is all opinion, but I loooove ice cavern. It was my favorite leave as a kid and still is to this day
I just recently finished the reignited trilogy and I have to say since I played them again after waiting 15 years since the original I can die with no regrets whatsoever
Ice Cavern second to last actually made me gasp
Nice video!!! I don’t trust you though because you put Misty Bog so hugh, I personally hate that level lol
I believe the music in Magma Cone is an homage to Piltdown Man from Tubular Bells
You had 2 of my top 10 in your bottom 10 and 2 of my bottom 10 in your top 10
Nice list! Keep up the good work!
Omg that song from Fractured Hills... i kinda hate it to be honest :p
Once is fun, twice is okay, but all the time after you rescue one it just gets annoying to me haha
Trouble with the trolley, eh?
I think the molten crater speed chase side quest thing was the most fun I had as a kid in a video game ever.
im on a bit of a spyro kick rn and been watching a lot of vids about it, i definitely agree with a lot of comments here about ice cavern being a fav. it was refreshing to go from the desert hub with other desert portals to an icy world. though replaying it again with the remastered version it is a lot simpler than what i remembered as a kid lmao
To put Spooky Swamp that far down the list is a crime in that of itself
Top levels for me in no particular order:
Metropolis
Haunted towers
Lofty castle
Tree tops
Dark passage
Cloud temples
(Huge spyro the dragon 1 fan here, less for spyro 3)
Kwnstantinos Stergiou bro I just played tree tops again and it was soooooo good. Took me a while to remember how to beat it but it was worth it
@@caylorsirk4033 it's one of the most rewarding levels if you manage to make that one supercharge jump
I remember playing more than an hour the first time I played tree tops. I didn't know how to get to the damn island.
Yo am I the only one who agrees with his assessment of ice cavern??
I got stung by a weever fish once and that was more fun than Fracture Hills! It's all subjective I suppose but that has to be bottom or not far of for me.
From a fellow brit spyro mega fan THANK YOU for saying Gateway to Glimmer 🤩🤩🤩
Don't really agree with your ranking however everyone's nostalgia and love for the game is different.
@Mary Ann same here I've still got the original one from when I was a kid.
I like your idea of excluding boss levels, homeworlds, speedways, and side characters. If I were you, I would also exclude the boss levels in Spyro the Dragon. I would've liked it if levels are ranked in each game separately. I would've also liked it if music was ranked separately. Personally, my favorite levels in no particular order are:
1 Desert ruins
2 zephyr
3 misty bog
4 mystic march
5 enchanted towers
6 haunted towers,
7 spooky swamps,
8 seashell shore
9 charmed ridge
10 fireworks factory
Lemme send my top 10 aswell, since i like yours a lot :)
1. Cloud Temples
2. Zephyr
3. Fireworks Factory
4. Scorch
5. Misty Bog
6. Haunted Towers
7. Charmed Ridge
8. Desert Ruins
9. Seashell Shore
10. Robotica Farms
I only really hate 1 level from all of the three games, which is Mystic Marsh. Just..... ughhh that charge minigame.....
I think the clash between Metalhead and his level design is intentional. Beast Makers is a very nature and biodiversity themed hub and having a technologically advanced robot and machinery feels like it's something to be got rid of in that setting.
My Top Ten Levels :)
#10 Frozen Altars
#9 Breeze Harbor
#8 Hurricos
#7 Lost Fleet
#6 Spooky Swamp
#5 Aquaria Towers
#4 Shady Oasis
#3 Skelos Badlands
#2 Mystic Marsh
#1 Robotica Farms
@@sharkybunkle Always happy to
Like the video even tho I disagree with 80% of the list
I find it fascinating how different a lot of ppl opinions are
Subscribing because it says I'll be number 699 and I cant pass that up, also good content to listen to while playing cookie clicker.
Charmed Ridge, Spooky Swamp, and Crystal Islands looked like they were meant to be in the first game
High caves and Charmed Ridge are top two.
It might have been one of the easiest, but dark hollow was probably my favorite level overall. Between the music, the lighting, the colors, the gameplay, and even the level design. I loved that level. Also, Ice cavern was pretty good too.
shoulda talked about home worlds too.. honestly out of all levels midnight mountain had to be my all time fav. The music is iconic.
Tree tops is infamous…if you didn’t have the internet as a kid, it was damn near impossible to 100%
I found Fracture Hills so hard as a kid but I found it one of the most fun levels in the remaster
I really liked the dancing pigs in fracture hills.😆👍🏾
Glad fracture hills made it so high. My favorite riptos rage level, and the bagpipes rule
I agree with placing Molten Crater at the bottom of the list. Deeply uninspired, also it's startlingly short.
Understandable about number one I can respect why Firework factor was #1
Fractured Hills is my favourite level next to Town Square, colossus, and Bamboo Terrace. Least favourite is probably Tree Tops and Aquaria Towers.
I feel like my level list is the literal opposite of yours but I think it’s mainly because I have such nostalgia for the first game 😂
Unpopular opinion, but Zephyr is my least favorite level in the whole trilogy. I just found the cowlicks a drag to do and the seeds were boring as hell. Really don't see the appeal personally. Loved the ice Caves though!
Favorite 10 in no particular order:
Dark Passage
Aquatic Towers
Fireworks Factory. I slightly like the original version of this level better due to the dragon mission being less broken feeling. The original was one of my favorite missions, but the reignited version is just annoying. Other than that I love the other missions in this way more than the original.
Hurricos. Undoubtedly one of my favorite soundtracks and atmospheres
Cloud Temple (awesome)
Ice Caverns
Doctor Shemp
Cloud Spires
Fracture Hills
Aquaria Tower
Dark Hollow
Honorable Mention: Thieves' Den and Monkey Monastery
Enter the Dragonfly was pure garbage, but if they ever decide to remake that game and make it better, Thieves' Den is the one I look most forward to. It had my favorite missions, soundtrack, and authentic in the whole game. Monkey Monastery while not as interesting, also had excellent music and atmosphere.
I also felt that thieves den was the one level they did right, except for the wizards
