- During the defamation trial on Thursday, ACLU COO and general counsel Terence Dougherty testified about Amber Heard's Op-Ed and her $3.5M donation pledge. Dougherty spoke about how Heard stopped making payments on her pledge to the ACLU, although the donations given so far are still appreciated. He also spoke about the ACLU's involvement in the editing of Heard's Op-Ed.

The amount of people involved in this woman’s lies and manipulations is shocking. She even involved the charities. What an absolute narcissist.
I honestly thought narcissism was going to be on the list of her mental evaluation. But it is in the same cluster so it kind of makes sense.

I’m glad Johnny took this to court. He had every right to defend himself in front of a very judgmental and knee jerk public. The MeToo movement became a career move for some, not everybody can be taken at their word. If you’re not perfect yourself, don’t put the imperfections of others on blast.

Agreed. We all knew from the start that all there ever was, was AH's accusations, and that she had no credible evidence and no witnesses.
One of the reasons I'm so fascinated with this case is because of the role of the Media and the Public. We are no different than we were 2000 years ago when we would watch people killed for entertainment. This entertainment has just changed into a 20th-century form where we lie to ourselves that we are righteous and take pleasure in the destruction of innocent people.

I was at another trial of a celebrity high profile case, in August of 2021, and some media outlets I were close to stated the individuals Constitunal and Due Process rights were all violated, so asked why they only report on the false accusations and keep the negative narrative going, instead of reporting on the truth, the response were, because that's how they get paid, and if they don't do what their told they will be without a job.
I'm sorry but I couldn't sleep at night knowing I'm taking part in destroying a man's, or any life for that matter.
And the media continued to do stories throughout trial that weren't true. Things I've heard with my own ears. It's truly heartbreaking.

She also said that in court here in the UK in the case Johnny raised against the newspaper that called him a wife beater. Johnny lost the case and in his summation the judge cited the fact Amber had given all the money to charity as one reason he went in her favour.

I did see that and she lied. Camille forced her to admit that she didn't paid the full donation because JD sued. But Camille revealed that she gpt the $7 million 14 months prior to being sued.

From the beginning of this court case were Johnny would walk in with hair all out and not standing tall, very close to really defeated to now is an amazing feeling to see his confidence build back up again. Losing in the UK and that thing (Amber) to all of us showing our support, I believe has helped him so much. Johnny you have shown that one voice can make a difference!

I do believe that Depps confidence grew as the trial went on, but I doubt that has anything to do with his change of hairstyles. In cases like this his lawyers would have set up an outside mock jury who they continuously polled throughout the case. I’m betting they received feedback that having his hair down rocker style may negatively impact how some jurors viewed him & thus they switched to something more refined. So glad he got the win he deserved so many years ago.
This guy is definitely sweating about the op-ed they helped her write. He basically shifted the entire blame on her but it's pretty clear Heard was able to BUY them out with a promise of a large donation. They helped her lie on her op-ed and time it with the release of Aquaman to ensure it had a large media impact. Disgusting.
And happily took money directly from Johnny Depp too

I loved when they asked point blank was the op-ed about johnny, no. Then not ten minutes later, she wanted to keep pieces about her marriage in to make it more impactfull so we helped write it in flowery lanuage that just doesnt say his name. They knew about the NDA. There was so many lawyers working on this. There was people in the ACLU saying to cut all of johnny parts out. I 100% think they could be liable. It wasnt the title that drew people attentions. I have supported the ACLU, this really just rubbed me the wrong way. Instead of going after the Sun his team should have focused on Amber and the ACLU.

Was it actually a pledge or was she just saying publicly she would do it? Normally a pledge comes with a payment schedule, which could occur over the course of several years. If she didn't actually make a pledge and then followed up to have other people put her name on their gifts, her case is even worse.

I’m not from the USA so I have no knowledge as to the ALCU’s reputation within the USA. However, surely this evidence will erode any trust people have in this charity. Whilst Heard comes across as dishonest and manipulative in her dealings with the ALCU it looks like they were complicit in her defamation of Mr Depp. The emails make it very clear what her intentions were. The ALCU needs to have an internal investigation into it’s staff and their actions.

The judge of the UK trial sided with AH, becuase she testified that she fully donated the $7M between two charities. Proving to him her motives behind the accusations were not for financial gain. I wonder what that judge thinks now? Let's hope he is watching, and now knows she got $14M+ tax free, and hasn't fulfilled her "pledges", nor has she given any $ since 2018. She also got others to donate on her behalf.
Justice Nichols' son works with Dan Wootton, the guy who wrote the "wife-beater" article in The Sun newspaper. And his wife is a friend of Heard's UK lawyer in that case.
This info on the donations was included in the appeal against the outcome of the case and the appeal was still rejected.

I simply watch Johnny and Amber from 5:00 to 6:30 and it is so telling. He is chatting friendly with his team and gives his assistant a hug, she is tense and uneasy. I just wanna leave some feedback, in some videos the audio is really low, then this one, for instance, is at a great volume. It would be pretty cool to standardize the volume in the videos. JD won the case today. It's over. The op-ed was clearly targeting him. If not for her lawyers, his name would have been there.
So I just needed to see this because I wasn't going to watch all of his testimony because it is so long and didn't understand the importance of his testimony but this is very very very important to this case.

I have not read the op-ed but will look into it but I don't need to read it to know that it was about their relationship. Some of the e-mails read prove point blank that his name was taken out of the read but she is still talking about Johnny. And it's just kinda common sense because who else has she said has been abusive to her.

I went into watching this trial trying not to have any bias but if I were Amber I would be hiding under the table with embarassment every day.

The witness quite clearly explains in his testimony that that is not special treatment, it is normal.

On top of which, did he not explain that it makes sense to be gracious with donors about any actual lateness of payment or inability to fully meet donation pledges as, after all, donations are donations? The legal team that represents Amber would have rationalize how the case will end, given having gone thru essentially the same trail at UK. If Amber was already having financial hardship by 2019, why the legal team run the risk of continuing to represent Amber, let along knowing it's a losing case with an expected payout of 50m by Amber. The only financial outcome is clear and just baffled with the intellect of this legal team of Amber's.

I think they will end up settling. Amber is losing very badly and I don't see why her team should continue. This is damaging to their law firm and also damaging to Amber's reputation and future work in the industry.
