It’s really telling when Amber gets on the stand and Johnny doesn’t look at her at all. He’s not giving her any more power over him and not giving her the satisfaction.
Her constantly harassing him to stop drinking at the same time she herself was drinking 2 bottles of wine a day. That’s crazy making in itself 😵💫😵💫😵💫.
She didn’t want him to stop drinking, she just wanted him to feel shame and humiliation from his drinking.
She is the type of person that will not think there is anything wrong with her. When the doctor was testifying and told the court she has 2 types of personality disorders, she didn’t even bat an eye. Most people when it’s public like this case is would at least get red or embarrassed at this statement. I wouldn’t be surprised if they diagnosed her with narcissistic PD

I was in the exact same marriage. Listening to his testimony is like reliving my own hellish nightmare. "from someone who professes to love me but gives me mostly hatred" I so relate. You can't fix that, you have to leave.

Additionally, as an addict, I really appreciate his candor and imo he explains addiction and the feelings that drive the behaviors, in an absolute, raw and painful sadness that so often plagues addicts.

My brother was married to a woman like Amber. He is still in therapy for PTSD years later. They have been divorced 18 years and she still calls him to torment him. He has changed his number moved all kinds of things. She always finds him. They never let go.

As a person who suffered DV violence directly, I refuse to accept her claims. Idk what is it about other DV victims that I feel instantly connected to them. I can see the way they talk, the way they express themselves… and I get flashbacks of what I lived. When I hear him talk, it takes me back. Stuttering for words because my ex was “so nice and well liked” everyone was on his favor and he essentially destroyed my reputation. I left him, and he told people I left him to cheat on him. He then went and destroyed my car and stole my computer right before finals. And still people or the police wouldn’t believe me. It got to the point that I started to believe I deserved it. If nobody else saw it, it everyone kept pointing at me being the bad person, then I must’ve been the bad person. Because when I left him he began drinking so uncontrollably and almost died, I was the bad person for living him. So I went back to him to save his life at the cost of almost losing mine. It took a lot of counseling and medication to somewhat recover from what I lived with him. I still wake up shaking and crying in the middle of the night after horrible nightmare that I am back with him.
You are not responsible for your ex. Leave them if they are still abusive. I left mine and after a while we remained friends and though I still loved him and believed he had changed, I would not put myself back in that marriage

I'm glad you left and are still working on healing. Ony remember you will never be responsible for someone else's bs and you will never be obligated, married or not to deal with someone's bs. He’s being so candid, genuine, honest, and self reflective. He’s not an abuser. He tried so so hard to make the relationship work.
He learnt at an early age to manage confrontation and difficult emotions by being avoidant - and look where it’s got him. He is now standing up and facing everything head on - there is a chance this could be the making of him, painful though it must be. Good luck Jonny.
Went through that avoidance phase myself, luckily I raised my head before any further damaging relationships developed (there were a significant number of).. So to conclude nothing good comes from escaping. Just raise your head and stand up for yourself, Johnny!

I just listened to some audio that was released yesterday on another channel, and i heard Johnny in the middle of some weird drunk exchange (amber was slurring and not making any sense), she finally leaves the room, and he says to himself "what a waste.... what a waste". She is an abusive person, who abuses substances, and utilizes her narcissistic personality to manipulate others. She needs her fix. Johnny became her target for supply. I wish his spirit peace.

Being involved in DV is like being in a bizarre, crazy nightmare. Unless you have experienced it, you cannot understand. These abusers are actually criminals. They do not let up. When the victim gets away, their rage escalates. They want to destroy the victim. Whether physically murder them or psychologically or emotionally, the abuser will continue the abuse. Johnny Depp suffered but stayed true to his character. He is a decent person.
Not always true. I was trapped in DV for 14 years. When I left, she let me go...no issues. It was wierd for me.

He suffered Narcisistic Abuse, clear as day. Narcs can be so manipulative, playing the victim, playing the act. When he talks about arguing with her, and the unending loop, it clicks. I had narc mother. She even told my psychiatrist (that she sent me to "cure" me) that I hit her, which never happened. Just to get reactions out of you.

When Johnny said that he came to the realization that AH had a [pathological] need for conflict, that really resonated with me. Narcissists are all about power and control. It’s not about trying to communicate or connect with you. They create conflict to get a reaction out of you and then use your reaction to say that you’re the problem, not them.
This is so hard and sad to hear. Yet, I hate how AH's lawyers interrupt Johnny Depp from finishing any thought, yet AH is allowed to go on & on with her theatrics that never happened, or more likely we're what that cow perpetrated on Johnny Depp.

Luckily, Depp's father seems to have been a role model to him. As his father was always patient towards his abusive mother, so was Johnny to Amber. His difficult early years taught him a lot. But in my point of view, he owes a lot to his father's extraordinary patience
I agree. My mother was a very hard person to live with, she could get angry and scream on a simple talk where the other one does not agree with her. She was making backstories out of her mind about everyone that she didn’t like for some reason and was always confident about what she was thinking, never questioning herself, never apologizing to anyone even tho she did an enormous amount of bad things to people around her. And she was inconsistent, saying sweet things in a good mood and depicting the other as a monster during an argument. My father was thoughtful enough to try to have a good relationship with her and also for the sake of us, me and my little brother. He was incredibly patient with her and we’re talking about a man that wasn’t known for his patience, he grew in a violent family.
My father at some point stoped that relationship and stoped talking and seeing her. From that point my mother started to brainwash us about how he was a manipulative monster and a violent man.
I never saw my father being violent, getting angry yes for sure, but never violent and always thoughtful, taking care of us all and genuinely concerned about our wellbeing.
I relate a lot to that case even tho it’s not exactly the same.

I'm an obstacle for her and I know she doesn't like it. You can clearly see he’s really scared of her. Not just her behavior but anything to do with her. Remember women can be just as controlling and abusive as men. It’s on a different level. I have had such a experience by a ex. Your world and social life surrounds that person. You don’t realize how bad it is until something dramatic happens. For him her cutting his finger tip.
An example of this is the texts and them being used in court. They have no part of this case so why did Amber have them? To claim he was discussing her within them but again they have nothing to do with her. This is a jealousy issue. Petty and immature.

I am a woman and I am here to tell you a former victim of domestic violence, a man, I witnessed the abuse of man by a woman. It was frightening. I wonder today if he's even alive. I called the cops but being the abused, he lied. When they were moving out she was pregnant. Our landlord said, "heard you are pregnant. What a shame. God help that child." Women can be evil too....scarier.....more conniving.

Horrible...been there...I tried to keep peace and perfect for many years...I was paid back by having my own be back broken and 2 operations... Chronic pains and digestive system ISSUES-...being told to stay home and he called my job...all of his actions speak louder than love...it was all Controlled and abuse...took me awhile to see that I was in the dark never seeing the TRUE reality...it was a fight for everything...all of it was a mess...not what I wanted, for my kids or myself...I ended up being with PTSD and anxiety...

My mother worked in a domestic violence unit, although she never talked about specific aspects of cases, it never failed to upset me by the fact that other humans could do that to other humans.

I recall hearing from a woman on a TV show about DV who was married to a man who did all these things but also physically abused her as well. She explained how she was always on high alert, walking on eggshells, trying not to do or say anything to "set him off".And I'll never forget how she explained that sometimes it was actually a relief when he finally did lash out at her and start beating her, because it was better than living every moment with constant anxiety, wondering if or when the beating would begin. To her, that was worse than the actual beating itself.

I am grateful that he is helping to increase public awareness of this sick dynamic and what these types of people are capable of doing to you. No one asked, "Why didn't you just leave her, Johnny?" but anyone who's been through this form of abuse knows the answer and how much these people mess up your sense of reality and truth. It is hell. I hid under prescription drugs for 6 years because of an unhappy marriage. So I can relate with him on that subject. I just wanted to stay in that black out condition because I didn't know how to deal with my life. I am 5 years sober now. Life's not perfect but I've worked hard to learn how to cope with out hiding in a drug induced fog. Hope JD can get through all this. Prayers for him to come out on top 🙏❤️

I am so proud of him for doing this. It is so hard for men to come forward and admit being abused for so many reasons especially someone with this high profile job. No one understand that they are not stupid. It is a viscous, precise cycle of the abuser. They start out slow, saying things to break you down , your confidence ,self worth even your sanity and all the while they are doing this "always under the guise they love you", they have already started the isolation of everyone in your life who is your support system. Unless you have lived through this there is no way you could explain it like this. It's a type of Hell, no one should endure. I'm in tears watching this. I was 23 he and he was 33 when we got married. I only met him less that 2 years prior. We worked at the same place. He was a high school teacher and I was a middle school teacher's assistant. I was incredibly to young, vulnerable and insecure. It took me 8 years to really understand what was happening to me. Then after being kept in a room by myself bedridden for 4 years, because as I later found out he was purposely making me sick. I had nothing but time, so I thought a lot and then researched a lot and I finally gained a backbone. I may have been the weakest physically than I had ever been but I was the strongest emotionlly. I left him many times previously, but he always hoovered me back. I fell for it every time. I left for the last time in November 2021. I'll be 38 in June. Johnny sounds like a wise man that has the ability and actually has learned from his mistakes. He knew to walk away, he knew what she was doing, which is why when he reacted instead of walking away after responding didn't help he was so disappointed in himself. Good for him for ending the marriage after 15 months. I guarantee you that he would say the psychological, emotional and verbal abuse was much worse than the physical. Not because she couldn't hurt him, but because bruises heal quicker. God Bless Johnny for doing this. Honestly, unless you have been through it is almost impossible to understand because it is so insane. I hope people realize this abuse exists and people need support from family. It's so clear how she used and abused Johnny all the time she was with him, she planned it all from the start of their relation just to satisfy her own needs and to get what she wants! She never really loved him, she just saw him as a credit card, you can get all you want but every time you see it, it reminds you of the debt, she only wanted to have the joy of taking but never wanted to give back, to her Johnny stood in the way of her joy and therefor she got this extremely angry and crazy against Johnny. She's the ultimate borderline Narcissist psycho Golddigger!!!
this pattern of abuse is so incomprehensible unless experienced first hand. It takes a lot of time to realize that they really, from the core of their heart & existence hate you. You are the embodiment of everything they hate, everything they ever wanted but wasn’t born with it or didn’t have the privileges to be 'you'. Accept that they hate you and the fog is there no more. It becomes a little bit easier to leave the perpetrator finally once you get that revelation to yourself.
So agree. Once you give up 'the dream" (of a loving relationship with flowers and hearts, of a partner who will rescue you and save you), then you literally are free. All you have to do then is plan an escape. But you first have to realize that they are not normal; that they will never be normal; that it is not 'poor communication' on your part; and that even medication won't help them. The abuser will not stop until they devour your soul and/or kill you. That is how it ends. So run. Run as fast as you can if you are in such a relationship.
The difference between Johnny and Amber, when he’s thinking, you can see that he’s trying to remember what happened , when she’s thinking it looks like improv/trying to remember her lines
