    I can see you point, but her situation is different. In her case its not a case of having longer legs or better endurance or a greater turn of speed. Its that she has an excessive amount of male hormones in her body, (and internal testicles) which in essence does not classify her as either male or female, which is terribly unfortunate for her, but still not within the category or either gender. For Savinova or lets say Bolt, they are competing within their gender.

    I hate that Semenya felt she needed to throw this race so ppl wouldn't keep on tallking crap. She ran this race so relaxed. had she wanted first, trust and believe, she would have had first place with no problem. But I don't want to take anything from the first place winner because she is a great runner.

  • @trackandfieldarchive
    @trackandfieldarchive 12 лет назад

    No i don't have access to her records, but there are two questions based on that.
    1. Why have they gone to such great efforts to keep the results from the public? If everything was okay then they shouldnt have any problems going public as it would alleviate any suspicion.
    2. Why would Semenya be so coy in foxing the whole year, scarcely breaking 2:00 in the lead-up races and then just drop a 1:56 from nowhere, and then just as quickly go back to running the same poor races she had run prior?

  • @trackandfieldarchive
    @trackandfieldarchive 12 лет назад

    The most satisfying race of the whole championships. With all her(?) foxing through the year, trying to cover up her obvious advantage, Semenya still didn't get away with it. Savinova all the way!!!

  • @trackandfieldarchive
    @trackandfieldarchive 12 лет назад

    no i am not a hater and i am certainly not ignorant. How am i ignorant? If anyone is then it is you for actually thinking that she wasn't foxing and thinking that its fair that she run. I am merely an athlete (an 800m runner no less) who believes in the sport being an even playing field. People like you are too busy being diplomatically correct instead of looking at the cold hard facts. Semenya competing does not classify as fair to the other athletes. Its not her fault, but its still unfair.

    Caster was definitely sandbagging, she was making a statement about the way she was treated. in my opinion she is the real champ... the african queen is years ahead of her time.

    Unfortunately you are wrong. Why would she throw the race? If she didn't want to win then why run at all? Your logic is not right.

  • @nettehardy

    agree with u....i also think that she let Russian win coz she not giving her best in this race..she deserves gold medal but it might be another issue then if she win...

    Anyone who thinks that Semenya threw this race doesn't know anything about running!

  • @trackandfieldarchive
    @trackandfieldarchive 12 лет назад

    What kind of comment is that? Where did I even hint at race? Majority of my closest friends are either African American or Carribean. I lived in the US for 3 years and most of my teammates in college were black, some of which I consider extended family. You have completely missed the point and tried to make it into a racial issue.

  • @trackandfieldarchive
    @trackandfieldarchive 12 лет назад

    I see what you are trying to say but within the sport of Track & Field there are two classes, male and female. Unfortunately for Semenya, she is neither. Its a terrible hand to be dealt but it is not within the rules of women vs woman. If she was running these times being all woman, no problem. Body weight or other factors have nothing to do with it, you are either male or female period. There is no category for Semenya. I feel for Semenya but it doesnt change the facts.

  • @trackandfieldarchive
    @trackandfieldarchive 12 лет назад

    Yes it is extremely suspect. Sorry, haha, 'foxing' more or less means pretending or faking, or more finely put, to baffle or deceive someone, or behave in a sly or cunning way. So in Semenya's case its been deceiving people into believing her performances pre and post world champs were legitimate. Its a term commonly used in Australia and in England, i thought it was a global term. Apologies for that.

    Nope you are completely wrong. If she was going to throw the race then why race at all? Athletes do not think this way. You are wrong. Savinova is the fastest 800m in the world and she fair and square won the race. Its called getting tired and Semenya admitted after the race that she didn't have anything left. Please stop speculating.
