She is a woman. She has a condition in which her body produces a lot of testosterone. Every other part of her is women. What's unfair is men that have recently become women, taking the place of women in the Olympics.

So of course it's unfair to compete against women without the condition. On the other hand I think it must have been a shock on reaching puberty to discover you have the condition and living with this. There's a great book called "Middlesex" which covers this.

Caster, if I remember correctly, has abnormal levels of testosterone production. Which probably accounts for what you were seeing. She has to take testosterone inhibitors to be able to compete so as not to be over WADA doping levels.
