It does not make sense for a European to compete with them: that would mean to subject oneself to too great a torture. Of course, you may entertain your pride being escorted for some time by two very fine Ethiopians behind you and two very nice Kenyans ahead of you (or vice versa), but when it comes to the real melee, they will show you who is the queen here.
On 5000 meters and 10 000 meters the Ethiopians are arguably better, but the Kenyans are better in 800 meters and 1500 meters/mile and also WAY better in 3000 meter steeplechase.
sweetie you need a hug. those females were and are BEAST.....THOSE KENYANS TORE IT, Represented.......cry you a river boo........ you may need Rudisha as an amuse bouche
World records are meant to be smashed. However, there are more Kenyan athletes who have smashed the world record in each of the these events in the men's category than Ethiopian athletes: 800 m, 3,000 m, 3,000 m Steeplechase, 2 miles, 5,000 m, 10,000 m, and the marathon. Even the men's 5,000 m and 10,000 m in terms of the number of different athletes to smash the world record Kenyans exceed Ethiopians. In fact Ethiopians have only two athletes, i.e., Haile Gebrselassie and Kenenisa Bekele to have held those two records between then of which many more Kenyans have held before them, In 5,000 m *four* different Kenyan athletes have left their mark on the world record books and in 10,000 m *five* different Kenyan athletes have made their mark in the world record books for a total of *eight* different Kenyan athletes all together for the two events.
Vivien in a class of her own. Shes too good. So proud of this Legend.
The commentator is also racing😂😂
Vivian cheruiyot my all time favorite. Big up
My all time female Kenyan athlete. Vivi.

@@wizzydenoble_2254 i love this response
thats just beautiful commentary
So intense between Vivian and Meseret. Too bad Vivian didn't run this time in the Olympics then she would have probably won it.
Kenya th powerhouse of marathon
Congratulations Kenyan queens
vivian cheruiyot, waw!
Kenyan queens did great
Wonderful.
meseret was really upset but she came back in both 2012 and 2013 for gold
Vivian missed the Olympics in 2012 in her prime... Glad she made amends in Rio when she was aging
Kenya is still the best period!!
Without Tirunesh, Defar was not a threat. Vivian is an iron lady, not easily broken. Its her time and moment now.
Vivian had twin turbo charger
That crack of voice.....
Kenya 2012, we're coming.

Great race. Dreadful picture quality.
Hahaha... bye bye Defar...Take that!!!
Only east Africans can do that on major championships
Kenya>Ethiopia.

@@tosj0298 obiri destroyed that myth... But let's face it bekele will always be the best that I accept..same way kipchoge is the the best in Marathon
The only person that scared Vivian was Tirunesh Dibaba. The rest she could deal with them well.
Steph Curry
Ethiopia cames first and Kenya second because the Kenyan have ever smashed world record in mens and womens 5000 and 10000 so Ethiopia is best
