I absolutely feel the same way about traveling solo, in particular Utah/Moab. This summer I drove from NC to Alaska and back, living out of my Bronco for 3 and a half months. While I saw many amazing places including your home province, nothing tugged on my heart strings like the outskirts of Moab, which I have been to many times. I had a very similar experience, camping on the edge of a canyon, away from all other people, and not even so much as a whisper of wind. Dead silence. It was the highlight of the trip!
Doing this alone adds to the serene and profound sense of solitude, the drone shots with the truck driving along in front of a stunning mesa--great work, great art.

I have come to realize that driving through the back country in four wheel drive is my meditation. I'm still alert and paying attention but it can be incredibly relaxing at the same time.

The only time(s) I was in Utah it was dark. My favorite thing in life these days, (I'm 71) is getting be hind the wheel of my Jeep(now), finding the back roads and just going. Afterwards I think that I should have stopped more often, got out of the vehicle and looked around more. My wife says I should but if I'm on my own... well she's not there to tell me to stop. Speaking of solitude. Travel across southern MN, SK and AB via the range and township roads. If you do ever meet another vehicle, it's a local. You get a wave, maybe the tip of a Stetson and you drive on.
I love that you took your truck out solo. That is how I enjoy adventure and exploring the most, and these days I am always solo. I am wintering down in the LA Posa valley near the KOFA range, Arizona in my Toy Hauler. This spring, I'll park my Toy Hauler and Quad at my brother's house in northern Arizona, and hit the road again in my truck. Last fall, I did 3K miles thru Nevada, Idaho, Western Montana, and part of Utah. My focus This spring will be southern Utah and New Mexico. Wife and I have vacationed to Utah twice now. We have every intention to move there from Michigan. We absolutely love it there. Can't wait to road trip out there instead of fly in and renting a Jeep.

I did a lot of trips with my community in 2024, but I definitely enjoy the solo trips (I’m introverted). I did the trip you did here in 2022 solo and it was a great time. I left the camper as a basecamp so next time I’ll probably take it. Wasn’t sure how high muddy creek would be tho nor did I have the gas carrying capacity then.
That's a cool area, Factory butte is so distinctive. Knew where you were before you ever said it, and I've not been to that side of it. Have spent a bunch of time in the surrounding area exploring some amazing slot canyons. It's nice to see some new perspectives and different places around there that we haven't seen yet.
I understand exactly what you mean, I also like to drive around on unknown roads just to be alone and clear my brain of everyday stress. And also likes to hike after unknown streams just bring my fly fishing rod and a few flies can go for hours. But unfortunately here in Sweden we do not have as large uninhabited areas as you have over there. But the feeling is the same to just be without thinking and just become one with nature

Great video, as always. I go to that part of UT every year in November for photography and this year was no exception. Free BLM camping and beautifuls views everywhere. Hwy 95 is by far my favorite route in the US, every inch is aesthically pleasing and certainly mood lifting. The content creator controls how many commercials and where they are placed. The more commercials the more money the creator makes. It’s a double edged sword.
That’s not quite accurate. We can control where the ads are placed, if we want to, but RUclips decides how many ads are shown. Around this time of year (Christmas) there is always more ads. It’s widely accepted practice amongst creators to not mess with the ad placements and just let RUclips decide what works best.

Being on the road (pavement or not) on a multi-day trip is fantastic. Time stops, and the moment matters. Love it.
