I found the Alvord Playa from one of your videos posted a year or two back. Spending the night out there underneath a crystal clear night sky is something everyone should experience. Changed my life man
Oregon has so much diverse landscapes and areas. Some of those roads you thought were never travelled have been travelled by every RUclipsr in Oregon and any that have ever said the world overland. Still it’s always an amazing time being there and or seeing it on video. Glad you enjoyed it all!
As I watch this video, I'm transported to a world where adventure knows no bounds and nature's beauty knows no limits. The fusion of overlanding, untamed landscapes, and camping under the open sky ignites a sense of awe and reverence for the wild. It's a reminder that life's greatest treasures are often found off the beaten path.
Just started following this channel a week ago and it’s awesome to see my home state on here. Thank you for capturing and representing it with such high quality work and I hope you enjoyed your time here.
You are a sheer talent sir. The footage, the editing, the music all incredible. Another awesome video. Absolutely enjoy and look forward to your drops every week.
Mickey Hot Springs left me with 68% burns last September attempting to save the Adventure dog Hope! We were solo and had to self rescue to Fields Station, from there it was life flight to Portland. A story I will share with the offroad community for the remainder of my days........Skull Creek Road is awesome!!!
That descent to the creek at 48 minutes is awesome and I know that area out there is epic in its own right, although it is quite barren in many ways with its lack of forests and lack of water most of the time. Really good effort by you guys out there! Nothing like getting out there and depending on your rig for everything it is a good feeling . Car camping in general is an excellent experience!
I'm a subscriber because Shaun is my favorite you tube content! I really enjoy seeing the other side of this vast North American Continent! Makes me want to sell most of my stuff and head out there!
Wonderful video -- great technical work. As an Oregonian, though, I just have to correct you on one thing.....we don't call it "overlanding". We call it the weekend.
awesome video! You were in my backyard. I wish I knew you guys were running that section. You missed so much good stuff that we could’ve put you on. Gearhart mountain. You missed the cowboy Hot Springs below heart Mountain (kind of a special spot) not on the map of hot springs in Oregon. You missed the Hot Springs in heart mountain reserve. there is a crazy glass house at the base of heart mountain that some rich millionaire built and never lived in it that you can explore. The climb up Dorothy slide. The wild horses. The Steens mountains. they are the deepest canyons in the United States. there is also a breed of mustangs that came from Spain that are only alive and well in the area. on a special occasion, you might get to see them. If you ever come back I would love to show you a few places.
I have a 2004 forerunner with a 3 inch body lift and a 4 inch long travel. it is a V-8.. in the winter time I put snow tracks on it and we go back hilling on Heart mountain. I can send pics.
OMG... you had the ram right behind the trailer. all you had to do is get real close to the trailer and the winch would have lifted it in the air and it would have slid to the right with eaz. ive done it with long wheel base trucks that have a tough time cornering trees and rocks.
The road where you had issues with the trailer was a place a gentleman nearly rolled into the river. He was going up and waiting for his turn to go through that tight spot. He felt the right rear of his pickup begin to drop. The road had given away under his tire. The only thing that kept him from going over was the pumkin on his rear diff. It caught on what was left of the road. Luckily he was with some people who knew what to do. He also teaches vehicle recovery, little did he know. Not sure how much longer that road will be able to survive. All those roads where built for wagons back in the 1860's by the military. It was called the Military Road back in the day. See you on the trails! George.
@@TheStoryTillNow It was bound to happen. I had been going in there for nearly 30 years yearly so I have seen a lot of deterioration of the area. Use to be I could camp at the gravel bar you guys parked on (swimming area) for days and might see one other person come in. Last year it was grand central station.
Nice one, Oregon is my neighbor to the south so it looks like a nice place to do some overlanding, might have to try it in a few months. If you had a Deadman off-road earth anchor you could dig a pit in any location you want a snatch block or a winch point, I haven't had to use mine yet but since I'm out solo I like having options to get myself out of trouble.
Hi Guys, Stumbled across this video and I loved it! We own about 60 acres that border the dunes near Christmas Valley, OR and you guys went right by our property! We feel so grateful that we have access to some amazing areas in Oregon. Thanks for sharing your journey with us.
I'm a disabled poor person that cannot achieve a life like yours guys, but every time I watch your channel, I'm there with you, go places, see new beautiful things that God created for all of us ♥️😊 THANKS FOR EVERYTHING YOU DO 😊 AMAZING.
Loved the lakebed shot! Took me back to deployment in Djibouti Africa where we would drive our MTVRs at full speed shoulder to shoulder across a good 10-15mi of dry lakebed!
I never saw Oregon like that. I always pictured it much more forested and mountainous. This video really was amazing and awesome. The western and southwestern parts of the U.S. are so vastly different than the East coast and middle of the country. Your video just UPPED my desire to head out there! I just came back from a solo adventure to S Dakota, Wyoming, Minnesota, and upper Michigan.
I never normally comment on YT vids. But always feel compelled to with yours! Congrats matey! You have nailed your content and channel! Incredible as always. This should be nominated for awards!
Wow..Another epic video of another amazing adventure. Love the open terrain ...So different from what we have in BC.Pretty coolio for sure..Thx for another +++ entertaining video😎👍✌️
I really love your videos. As a guy living in some of the flattest countries in the world (Denmark), I dream about doing what you all are doing. Keep up the awesome adventures! I'm looking forward to your next one.
The dunes are a blast. I didn't see you guys trying the big ones. At least go down them 😂 Really sorry you didn't get a chance to mention Jessi Combs (RIP) when you were on the Alvord Playa. She was an awesome car girl and helped to grow our current off-road hobby.
Haven’t got through the whole video yet but had to comment and say the beginning of the video brought me so much joy seeing that cave again and seeing you guys drive down cabin lake road with fort rock in the background! I used to live in fort rock and have traveled all over that desert! Just down the road from the cave is the largest juniper tree in the world and then also not far from there is a place called hole in the ground you should totally check out if you make it back there again. Such a rad place and miss it dearly out there. Alright, back to the video!
The Christmas valley sand dunes! First sand dunes I ever ventured on. Took my old 92 XJ out there many times. Loving this video so far, brings back lots of good memories.
If you make it to north east Oregon check out marble creek pass. Very cool trail with a couple mines and a big granite quarry. Also virtue flats isn’t far from there. Just finished the video and god I miss Oregon so much. I now reside in SE Idaho and am slowly learning the area. Going out with a local off-road group next weekend that I’m super stoked for! Love watching your videos and the cinematography is next to none. Hope to see more from Oregon, definitely one of the most diverse states in America scenery wise cause it has every landscape and climate you can think of. I miss it so much out there!
Not sure why they didn’t name the cave they went to but it’s called Derrick cave. Very close to Fort rock. There's a cool pioneer museum that you should definitely check out also while you're out there.
I absolutely love your channel, what your doing is awesome, living my dream thru you Ty,makes my happy retirement even better more time to watch,Ty again
I'm living in a city near by one of the biggest deserts in the world called Cholistan desert. I know and understand the circumstances of this wild environment. Anyway enjoying your journey 😊😍❤❤❤ I must invite you to visit and explore the Cholistan desert. I'm sure you will enjoy more really....
Sean I am very surprised you have not purchased a Range America fuel tank. An extra tank of fuel ready to go would be useful and cool to see how well it works.
Great vid! my first go to on the trailer recovery was a high lift jack and push over method.. looks like that would not have worked with the punch out of the rear of the trailer. He might need to bring a long receiver adaptor in the future for that method if he's solo! Great stuff man keep up the inspiring vids .

Supercool. Thanks.
For those watching the video, it would be interesting to have lat/long posted in the corner on some of the scene changes or camp sites.
Another beauty video Shaun, be curious to know how onX works locally here in Van, BC!
Born and raised here, couldn't be more grateful for the insanely diverse landscape we have all over the state.

I feel so fortunate to live 2 to 4 hours away from most of these areas. I just spent the weekend out in the desert and it’s always amazing.
How's the weather there right now?
@@jrob325 hot and dry, fire warnings in effect.
