Hi my friend thank you for your video it has helped me so much when you know the location of something it's so much easier and I thank you thank you thank you for that it saved me so much time knowing by your video what to do has cut down my time so much. it literally took me 25 minutes to do the same fix as you did but I did some things a little bit different I didn't take one panels completely off....That's the only video for generation 2 bmw X5 e70 on RUclips...you did all the hard work!!! for me by finding the location and which component was the faulty one.. again thank you for that my friend

Does this fiber optic bypass affect the GPS? I have a Drone Mobile auto start and I still want the remote starter to work with this. Any idea? Thanks
I own a 2017 bmw 330i Xdrive. My sound and chimes all work on my car but sometimes the SOS error pops up and the goes away. It can be there for a few mins then it goes away. It can go days to weeks and then pops up. Any suggestions on how to fix And remove this error?
It does not draw current from the battery as I initially thought, it has got no current draw.
Dude the fiber optic loop starts from the radio to the amp to the telematics to the usb most (if you have it) then to satelite radio (if you have it and 2010 + its integrated in the head unit). Since you are not getting a red light from the telematics plug, that means the issue is either the amp or the radio itself.
I followed your instructions, but the sound is still audible, and the SOS error light is still displayed. What should you do to make it disappear?
For my own peace of mind I boucht a male / female loop and I bypassed the TCU but it didnt solve the problem. So I belive indeed that the problem lies within the phone unit wherever that is. But is not near the boot, rear seats, telematic box, rear wings or anywhere near. Where can that phone unit can be ?
i have same problem in germany ..where did you buy this cable? greatings from germany
You have the link for buying this cable ?
i love you sooo much
Cable rubbish went off sos come back on next day but wouldn't connect mobile phone while the bypass was in place any other ideas
What did you end up doing to fix this issue
Did the same thing and it didn't work , sos malfunction still there , any idea why?
Bonjour jai le meme probleme que vous sur mon x5 e70 2009 .
Sos fixe !!
Avez vous reussi a trouvé le probleme ?
Esque la fibre a fonctionné ?
Merci
Is that a fiber optic bypass plug?
Hi, where would you buy that fiber optic loop with connector?
Hi Faud, I think from Amazon
This Amazon seller sells a Universal loop AND offers phone support until the issue is resolved: www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07PDJPXCW
Hi.Thanks for your video.Did this problem come back ever again after you klicked this thing in?How to find it on Amazon? Thanks.
Hi 👋, yes the problem persisted still.
@@dan1981ify did you managed to fix it at the end?
Have anybody looking into a replace of the battery on this sos system?
That's what I am after as well, it's a battery that needs to be replaced. I don't know where is located
Today 2 Oct 2019, i got the same problem of SOS CALL MAINFUNTIONAL FAILTURE, the Bluetooth can not active, and the ipod can not Be read through CD1-2-3-4-5.... the problem is due to the TCU????
Same problem here. Changed TCU (used from ebay) but I get the same sos error. The TCU does have the Bluetooth logo on it so I suspect the TCU and Bluetooth module are in the same box. I need to check if the "new" TCU from Ebay needs to be coded to the car or something.
I really dont know what to say, to be honest I kind of got used to the warning sign and ignored it, it doesnt cause ma any issues apart from poppin up in the dasboard when I start the car
Love the video thanks would be heplful to do video on how to remove the trim to get to the sat tuner ?? also link for the optical by pass loop ...one from amazo was too small !!! didnt fit
Where did you get the part ? Ebay? I cant find the fucker! 😀
I have taken the car to the garage, a real good one in Surrey and explained them what the situation was. And after a couple of days and a series of tests Ive been told that there is a fault in the telephone unit. Not the TCU (telematics box) but in the phone unit. Does anyone knows where that is ? It is not in the back in the boot or anywhere near it. Nor under the rear seats or anywhere else under.
If you haven't found it already then it is in the back under amplifier
your vids are awsome
Is a flash fiber to my car x6 e71 the fiber from headup is not working
Not sure what these guys are telling you, but the telemetics module houses the telephone unit, along with Bluetooth and all that. Since the plug going into the telemetics module was not lighting up, the issue is most likely in the amp or the cable leading to the amp from the radio.
Hi did you find the problem? I think i have the same problem . If you do please tell me what you do. Thank you
Salut Sorin, nu n am gasit problema. Masina merge nu am nici o problema nici cu telefonul nici cu blotooth nici cu casetofonul. Doar atat ca apare in bord si ma enerveaza. Dar m am cam obisnuit cu ea
@@dan1981ify Salut. La fel e si la mine. La mine e de 2 saptamini. Inca nu m-am obisnuit : ). Mersi de raspuns
You can also code it. Don't need a wire for that
All that! I just Pulled the Circuit Breaker
which one?
Does not work for my bmw x5 2008 (e70) the warning sos light came back on after 1 minute or so. oh well, it is worth to try.
Same here, it popped up a min later and stayed there until I sold the car. Didnt do any problems or anything just sits there like a sore thumb. Mind you the buyer never asked anything about it.
Try to change the battery of the antenna
Wie heißt diese kabel bitte
If it upseted you so much why didn't you just cut the plastic piece off and connect the wires together to create its own loop I have it on my car but it's no concern for me My battery doesn't drain I just had a program a new battery All I worry about is a check engine light but not an SOS or TPMS or even a light don't care for those cuz I know my tires are good my radio is good and all my lights are good
Hi Mate, thanks for the input.
It's been a while now and the car is sold but thanks anyway.
@@dan1981ify do you remember the name of the the converter
Disregard that last message
Do you solve the problem?✍🏼✍🏼
