I could see something like that doing coast to coast custom car hauling for a show circuit or a race hauler unit. Possibly a hauler for custom harvesting going farm to farm down the grain belt from Canada to Texas. That you'd sleep in the truck basically on site until the harvest is done, load up the header unit and combines. Go to the next, maybe spend the off season doing the trip again to prep for planting or carrying contract loads of perishables like shrimp or crawfish to depots in North and South Dakota, Montana, Wyoming and such. Otherwise possibly a hauler for goods that require round the clock observation, a watcher for when the driver is on rest period. That aside, it looks bonkers good, ike having a good studio apartment on wheels. Sure for tighter locations it may just be too large but if a driver can work it a afford to swing it. It's their baby.
Would this be the ideal truck. For hauling shipping containers, going from Cali, to Nevada and Arizona. I'm looking to be on the road, hopefully 3wks a month. Then be home with the kiddos, for a week. Maybe something like this, will vut down on truck stop showers, eating bad food. I could be wrong.
It's extra weight that isn't payload cargo. Which means expediting (hotshot) loads only. That's a maximum of 15,000 pounds of freight (ie plows, seedling trees, mix tank). Hotshotting is usually done with a Dodge Ram 3500 cub cab with a fifth wheel. That configuration is normally more economically viable. Because a Dodge is going to be less thirsty for fuel. Furthermore, buying one of these when we're just a few months away from a recession would be very bad timing.
Containers are kind of heavy as trailers go. The guys I see with these are usually running either flat bed, produce, or over dimension loads. I mean if you’re going to have to get a permit anyway then who cares about an extra ton.
I follow a few USA truckers on RUclips, but I still have a question; with so many of these sleeper equipped trucks, do many of these huge truck stops have facilities for grey and black water or do they have to find a trailer park to dispose of it? Is there a cost involved?
so many of these? my man you can drive around for a year and not see one of these. these are mega mega rare! only ran by lifelong truckers on dedicated lines due to how much they weigh and size. it makes normal trucking IMPOSSIBLE. no truck stops do not have those facilities, RV sites may or may not. depending. of course there is a cost. nothing is free. and dumping it anywhere (including your moms mouth, you trailer park hatin eurohippie) is very illegal
Flying J's usually have an RV dump. Grey water you just dump on the ground. And the blackwater is a canister that you can remove and wheel it to a dump area.
@@ictpilot Thanks for that, I have only seen videos of where they drive the camper close and connect the lines, dang, you wouldn't want that canister to ever drop out on the road or trip over across the parking area!
Aunque yo me lo compraría no para que los canarios se sintiera envidia por mí si no me lo compraría para disfrutar el resto de mi vida lo que me queda con él correría primero canal todas mis Islas Canarias ya empezaría a recorrer todo el mundo es una gozada
Would this just add unnecessary burden to maneuvering? Or is it basically the same since you’re driving a huge truck anyways? Seems like the latter to me but I can’t really tell as I’m not experienced (yet)
If this was on a peterbilt or Kenworth I’d be way more excited. Nothing but problem after problem since the day I drove my Volvo off the lot. If they could worry more about the mechanics less on the esthetics that would be great or it’ll just be a great looking truck on the side of the road or looking pretty in the shop!
I’m not a trucker so I have a silly question: Do bigger truck stops generally have septic/waste dumps like campgrounds ? Would they also offer water for showers, sinks and toilets?
Not a trucker; I’m an RVer. In the US Flying J’s and some Pilot truck stops have dump stations and potable water taps. They’re usually in the RV fuel lanes. I believe the dump is free with the purchase of $100 in fuel…and these beasts take several times that when refueling.
Driving that on anything other than long and straight highways must be absolute hell.
More like it handles like a bus/coach. Those things usually don't have trailers
