My grandmother called sandwich glass, ‘oatmeal glass’, because it came as a premium with the oats. 5’2”, eyes of blue, and the energizer bunny couldn’t keep up with her. Mother of 7 and midwife to many. Rest In Peace.
great seeing you back thrifting, Scott…But also a little sad that your musical break / vacation came to an end…Thank you for taking us along…Really enjoyed it. 😊
The black glass deco footed bowl is very special, and would stand on its own in an eclectic setting. I love the yellow deco teapot, a glorious color that would would well with blue and white china. I was strangely drawn to the free form sputniky French bowl, it would be great for floral arrangements, but I get why you didn't buy it. Lots of fun, you were on fire, thanks!
Thanks for filming your successful thrifting trip. My dad loved Nakashima’s furniture. Back in the day, once or twice a piece of his would turn up at the Lambertville flea market.
i forgot to comment when you found that amber sandwich glass. I have several pieces of it. I love it. I have plates, a platter, a deviled egg platter....I find many at goodwill around here (well I used to). I thought it was tiara.
Helen O'Connell Green Eyes is a cool song. Big Band Era with live musicians and real singers. I would like to see that era come back again! Great finds especially that delicate pink etched platter. Love your educational notes on the glass factories.
Wow that art Deco bowl is awesome, Scott. And that table is Outstanding great score Again?. Great video. Give me a call this week if you get A chance so we can discuss your Edison players. Thanks for sharing.
I am learning watching your videos, now, when I go to the local thrift stores I scour for etched vintage glass. Just yesterday I found a glass bowl with a what looks like an Iris motto. Love it. No mark. Thank you.
Great job Scott. You have taught me so much about glass, antiques. Like you I have a Collection of Antique radios, but wish I had your subject matter expertise to repair. I retired from the Army after 20 years, so you teaching an old Army grunt is quite an accomplishment.

Yay a new OCS video! I must say that, thanks to you, I'm growing very fond of amber colored glass. I used to see the 1970's whenever I saw a piece in amber, but now I think those deep honey colors are irresistible. Thank you for everything you do.

Curious if you ever come across frankoma pottery? I recently acquired a couple mugs and love their plainsmen/prairie green..very arts & crafts movement sytle.
Hope you pulled your kerchief up and your hat down as you carried out that "nearly Nakashima" for only $20! This is called "making out like a bandit"... :)
Love that mid-century table at 14:00. Kind of reminds me of an artist's palette with that hole in the side. It would look nice in your 1920's bungalow!

I have a blue pitcher like that one - it belonged to my Aunt Helen Anne, and there was a metal egg beater that sat in it, but it had rusted.
