Century of Progress was the theme of the Chicago Fair in 1933. That looks to be a souvenir dish with the fair goers' names engraved on it! Very cool!!
That was beautiful and my mom was born in 1933.
I'm sorry you couldn't stop here in Asheville on your way back. We're pretty miserable right now, but we'll be on our feet next year. Be sure to stop back and grab yourself some great BBQ and a craft beer. Thanks for the video, you made me smile today!
I love the part with all the coordinated colored glass. Especially that amethyst glass.
Yeah Cincinnati! Home sweet home for me. Riverside is one of my favorite antique malls. Thank you for such a great video. I always learn so much from you:))
The photo of the 'telephone operator 'is a treasure. Love it.
Pot belly pigs are fun and smart pets. If you're not used to them, it can be quite a surprise. Thanks for the shopping trip.
Dear Heart, I grew up in Belle Meade...outside of Nashville. My Grandparents used to go antiquing in Franklin which is one of the best shopping spots east of the Mississippi. It is definitely worth a trip. Grandmother spent 56 years collecting her entire dining room set.😊
I liked the Victoria Rescues Vintage space, the sentiment and the aesthetic there. The whole "mall" felt enjoyable. I hope you "rescued" the kitty for restoration. Nice video Scott. Thank you. 🐈⬛
I liked that Terrier valet wall pocket too, I've never seen anything like that before either! Thanks for filming, and taking us along with you on your way back home to NJ! 😍
Please make a video showing the kitty die cut restoration project. Luckily 🐈⬛️ you have an existing front and back paw for patterns!😊❤
When you showed the cloth masks, I could remember the scent of them. Very cool. The two RCA record players. My parents had one and I would play my Beach Boy 45’s on it. I was around 6 or 7 at the time. That was a fun shopping video, Scott! Thanks! 👍🏻🫶🏻
Goodlettsville is about 7 miles from me. Looks like you stopped at Rare Bird, it’s one of my favorite places. I have found some awesome pieces there a time or two.
Thank you for sharing some of your travels on the way home from vacation.Glad you are safe and sound and feeling better 🙏🧡🙏Loved the different shops and critters at your friends horse farm.🎉
"A Century of Progress" is the 1933 Chicago World's Fair. Fred and Mae just visited and got a personalized souvenir.
🎉totally remember the RCA 45rpm record players👏👏👏. I played top 10 hits from the early 1970’s on my parents vintage record player, totally sweet👍👍👏
Yes the Hobnail pitcher and small glasses with red were fantastic!! 🥰
Scott i have a copper negative photo block too, and got mine for the same reason just because 😊. I've got mine with my camera collection. Great history behind these!
Your friend has a beautiful place in Kentucky. 💚
😊😊really enjoyed this vlog. The painted blind china closet/cabinet was charming.I agree about the amber and blue bowl..didn't gel in my eyes.I also felt the same about Memphis.A harsher feel to it.Cincinatti, great name, gentler feel.Homely(thats a compliment in England)
Loved going to the antique shops with you 😊. I have a lot of those old photo’s of family members I don’t even know 😂. Someday they’ll end up in an antique shop too 😂. Enjoy the rest of your evening. 😉🕊️
I live in nice condos south of Portland OR. When I moved in, Matt...a policeman, used to walk his very large Sir Francis Bacon several times a day. We miss seeing him as they bought a home here in Sherwood.
I'm going antiquing tomorrow love it😊
I had my share of business trips to Cincinnati. Did you see the Roebling Suspension bridge to Kentucky that looks like a miniature of the Brooklyn bridge? It was the prototype.
I love these long videos. I truly enjoy it Scott 😁. Hello from New Britain Connecticut 😀
Thank you for the shopping trip.
Oh my gosh!!! You were right near my neighborhood in Cincinnati!!!
I love your 🎶 music
Love those old photos. My hallway is almost full. Liked the rooster 9ne. Just started collecting rooster stuff for my kitchen.
Yessss ... rescue the kitty cat.
I just had to replace my porcelain washboard sink. It was rusting so bad the part around the faucet and drain was about to fall apart. I found a company online that makes reproductions of all the old sinks. It came yesterday and can't wait to have it installed.
dang it! im 15 min from swamp water, could have gave you that book im trying to mail you....still need a po box Scott!!!
That red rug looked like a prayer rug
Good -letts - ville just moved from Clarksville TN last year. Moved to Pittsburgh PA.
Ahhh thanks for the tour of all those shops! I am in Cali so I don't get to see very old unique pieces like some of the stuff you have shown, and IF I do... they want an arm and a leg sigh.
Did you see that child's rolltop desk at Riverside? My heart stopped!
Wow! Sensory overload! I saw so much that I wanted, most of all that Grand Rapids painted cabinet, loved the colors, and were I to drag it home, it would be back home, since I live in Grand Rapids. Hmm. Cincinnati ain't that far away. Those Spanish galleon andirons would go for a lot more in California where you have zillions of those Spanish style houses from the twenties and early thirties. Anyway, getting ready to watch your flea market live stream, many hours later. See you there!
The fainting couch, oh my. If I lived closer it would be sold.
Thought you were at building value in cincy. That's a good place for old sinks and doors!
Love the video
Next time you are in Ohio, you really should go to The Heart of Ohio Antique Center! Springfield, Ohio, Berner Brothers Antiques. It is the largest antique mall in the Midwest! 122,000 square feet. 1425 booths.
Scott before reselling did u have an antique shop in Philadelphia ? If so where was it
Loved the old photos you showed early on & the frames of some. Yes, I had those same roller skates.
Kitty cat 🐈👍👍
The print block looks like Robert E. Lee. Well sorta anyway.
I have better luck with Zrytec. Did you try the Cincinnati chili?
We have lots of pigs in NJ lol 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Scott, I have 3 painted ceiling hanging light fixture shades that you might be interested in. Let me know.
Scott what did you think of the Queen City Cincinnati that where I Live
I had a great time!
The century of progress was the Chicago World's Fair in 1933/34
That print etching should still be usable
The black figures are definitely mid century my mother h ad the same set in the late 60s
Just one humble opinion, but I like that cat decoration as is with the damage. It's Halloween and it's supposed to be old, worn, and we will know that trouble was AFOOT for him😅
Well you are The Old Curiosity Shop…
I've seen plenty of pigs. I live in Iowa "the pork state". It's the other "white meat " here. There's more pork confinement units than homes... Oh the smell wafting in the air some days... lol That small photo on the wood block is a "tintype. I'll let you research from there. It would be easier for you to understand than me explaining.
I know what tin types are and have several old family examples. The example in this video is actually not a tin type. This image is on copper mounted on wood and it was used in print making. So his image could have been inked and stamped on a letter head....news paper etc.
@@oldcuriosityshop265 my 1st thought was the same as what you said. But I thought maybe I was wrong so I researched. But I now take your word for it. 🙂 p.s you should have bought that skeleton in that antique mall in Cincinatti for Halloween. lol
That definitely is not the top antique mall in Cincinnati. We have many great malls
