This is a great cheap option and really good for someone that isn’t good at tuning a carb or just want the simplicity. I bought one of these carbs after seeing this video while I was recently doing a case reed minarelli build on my bike. The carb works great but I had to put a pwk on it they are just so crisp when you get it right. I actually modified the power jet by taking the actual power jet out and making a needle jet to use in place for ease of tuning the power jet if you know what I mean.
For anyone wondering what the adapter is, it's an adapter to a pz20 which has the same bolt pattern as bigger engines such as 212cc, could be able to same adapter of a 212cc carb upgrade (which simply extends the carb out) for the saw carb or perhaps directly mount to engine but doubt u could access screws very well
This is the confirmation I needed. Have my black bike parked due to tuning frustration. I also need to learn the timing wheel and the compression/squish octane calculator you showed on another video.

The pulse port is the hardest part, on chainsaws etc they often have a hole below the inlet port and a slit down to bottom so you can't lower bottom of inlet much. On Hyundai 2 strokes they have the same hole from manifold but it connects to a drilling leading to base. I just posted a 2ps 50cc engine, 15mm pumper carb with rotary inlet and primer bulb. I have a 4 stroke with a pumper carb - honda gx- the pumper hole leads only to the inlet manifold! Simples! The valve stopping and starting air flow must be enough.

Around 11:55, this applies the same if you do full throttle. So, tune them both one at a time. There are multiple ways of setting up the pulse port. - For a non-reed engine, you simply modify the intake somehow and hook to the crankcase transfer port. You CANNOT combine the pulse port with intake port since the piston will close off the intake at BDC, not giving it any more crankcase pressure. - For a reed-valve engine, if it's a minarelli, simply drill a hole through the bottom of the block (not the top, you'd have to drill through the pedals, so please don't), modify the cage at the bottom (exactly like what I did at 9:30), or simply just drill an L hole, install a barb, hook to the crankcase transfer port, if you do swap cylinders a lot etc. - For a reed-valve engine using G2 or something, you can simply hook it to before the reed valve (as long as it sees crankcase pressure), by the intake area. If you have a windowed/ported piston that is.

I still don't understand how these work properly btw! When we raced 100cc carts the carbs would fail and seize the engine. You can get pumper carbs where the pulse is fed by a pipe, far easier but I can't find a cheap one.
Could you test this carb with a more simple setup? or an alternate carb without the internal pump? (i dont know how/where to get all of the intake manifolds!) (im fine with adding an electric pump if needed, as weight isnt as important to me as performance.)

The intake for my athena sport (for minarellis) would be off smolik etc. Just figure this out really, like find an intake, route the pulse port if you need, or simply find a carb with an external pulse port barb, for whatever venturi size you need.
There is no actual internal pump. The diaphragm design works like a very small, weak, vacuum pulse driven pump, but this notion of it having a built in fuel pump is nonsense! In ordere for them to work properly, under load, you need an external mechanical fuel pump. Just physics alone tells you this. Look where the carb is located in relation to the gas tank. There is nowhere near enough of a drop for gravity to effectively feed the fuel even with the tiny boost from the diaphragm design. Hey hope your doing well I just wanted to know if I can use a dio reed valve to do this as they have a hole on the top of them that can be connected to the carburetor can I modify the intake and run the a tube thing though just like you did with the non reed valve engine does it need powerful positive and negative force ??
Great video my friend! I just got the same carb for my phantom. Do you think I could drill my reed valve in line with the impulse hole all the way through, so it receives the impulse signal from after the reed? If im not mistaken, I think it would receive both pressure and vacuum to properly operate? Thanks for your time brother!
As long as it's not through the reed pedals or anything which could crack them over time. I did the same, at the bottom of the reed valve block, on my athena.
Do you think the walbro wj69 (used in Stihl 066) would work as fine as that one? The walbro is cheaper for me, has a separate pulse port, and still has a good size

Hey, bro, what are you running your oil at I was told 40 :1 synthetic. Is that true. I just dump $200 hundred dollars on an engine I don't wanna lose the money
If you blow your engine you're not going to buy another. You'll just have to inspect and if anything the crank bottomend rod bearing may have blown and you can just replace that or replace the crank, maybe the top end. It's not that pricey. Maybe like $50-60 at most. Plus theyre stock engines that only put out a hp or 2 and 7-8k rpm so they will last a long time. Just don't run it lean. 40:1 is fine.
hey can anyone help me i was wondering if you could just make a sort of crevasse/ hole down into the intake for the pulse port because im unsure if this will work and im not trying to risk ruining my crank case any help would be appreciated
Depends on upgrades and mods, depends on porting, pipe, etc. I'm going to try a stock a85 cylinder on, compare it to my porting, then port it nothing too crazy, then fully port it, I guess. As well as pipe header sizes etc
Thanks for this video 👌🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼 💪🏼😎🏁 I have a Meyers PCR 100cc cart engine that I need a pulse feed carb like the one in your video here. Can you please tell me where to get one or what is the name of the carb i need to search for? Thanks again.✌🏼
Hey I'm trying to build a carb set up like yours. Could you point me in the right direction to get that intake manifold adapter? I can't seem to find one anywhere
just keep trying to start it up and it will prime it for you. crankcase pressure and vacuum is sucking and pumping it. non reed doesnt mean it won't give it crankcase pressure, because the piston still closes the intake port when travelling down, and still give you crankcase pressure.
im not sure. I had to replace it every time I took the head off because the corners of the O ring were basically bent in a way that it would like break off easily.
@@leonardarola On bigger sprockets, sure, but I might be able to keep going to hit over 12,500 maybe even 13k on 36 or 38T if I duck down enough (I now have a custom mini dirt bike seat). Idk eyt
@@trentbikes The pulse port is only a trigger, it is not power to pump fuel. You need an external mechanical pump for them to work properly. The term "Pumper" car b has been totally erroneously tagged on these carbs. The correct name is "Diaphragm" carb. A true pumper carb has what's called an "accelerator pump" and is found on much larger engines. Again, there is absolutely not a built in fuel pump only a diaphragm the very weakly mimics what a pump does!
Bro, you better get some proper riding gear right fking now. The bike is running great with that carb, and you're moving fast enough to get completely fked up when you come off the bike. Never ride with busted spokes. Go home immediately, SLOWLY. I tuned all my bikes to go slow since I last tuned in to your stuff. Top speed 45mp and that's already fast enough to kill. Seriously bro, full face helmet, gloves, pants, maybe consider some kind of arm/torso gear. Fast is fun, but you have to DRESS FOR THE SLIDE, not the ride.

I know English, but can not completely understand your pronunciation... What's problem: my hearing ability? Your pronunciation ability? or English is so irrecognizable?

What is a good brand that smokes?

🤘😁 Id like to know if this carb would work on a phatmoto engine! If so, how would you connect the vacuum port? Could you make a video for us 4 STROKERS? Please!
OH, also Im gettin one of these for my Phattie!
I have no idea. Never used 4 stroke yet (bought an used tilly 212!). I believe you need an electric pump for it
I need to thank you. This carb rocks. From 38 km/h to 46 not done tuning yet. Engine runs cooler. Need better brakes now. Bike is a 66cc 44t sprocket with 26' weels.
Can i add a reed valve after the carb?
@@johankemp3809 you'd need a windowed/ported piston
Try a 40t sprocket if You need a little more speed!👍
Hey thanks but unfortunately I only have 36 and 32t as ordering options. 36 might not work on my occasional hill.
@@johankemp380936t 66cc has surprising good tourque for uphill off-roading mine isn’t stock tho and 32t on a 66cc you’ll b never reach top speed engine sounds like it’s got more to give but wont
Also, anyone else having the issue of that port leaking on the side of the motor? My tubing apparently isn't up to snuff and has been spattering hot oil on my leg and leaking. I think the heat is loosening the fuel line
Idk haven't had problems on mine. if it's spewing hot oil from the crankcase, you need to check that out.
Can I just rip out a carb from an old weedeater or chainsaw instead of buying the one in the description?
its probably gonna be a smaller venturi size than what you need
hey can anyone help me i was wondering if you could just make a sort of crevasse/ hole down into the intake for the pulse port because im unsure if this will work and im not trying to risk ruining my crank case any help would be appreciated
a case is only $30. it can always be covered up with jb weld etc, it'll be fine
How fast could you push the avenger
Depends on upgrades and mods, depends on porting, pipe, etc. I'm going to try a stock a85 cylinder on, compare it to my porting, then port it nothing too crazy, then fully port it, I guess. As well as pipe header sizes etc
@@trentbikes what’s a good estimate for top speed and would it be better to go with a minarelli and thanks for replying I love your vids
@TheTrioShow2k23 hmmmm.... that's hard to say tbh (for the last part)

Will it run well on 66cc which is just with open ports, balanced crankshaft and expansion chamber?
you would use a different carb. i ran the hs-274e on my ported ld90. the hl-324a has a bigger venturi than the hs-274e

I guess my question should have been is:
Would this carb work on a PCR 100cc?
I have them and those engines
Mine r real deal for those engines not knock off clones
What does that pulse port do? I thought pulse bottles was garbage. This is different?
you didn't watch the whole video, I explained it
Does this carburetor fit the stock manifold inlet of my "Chinese 66 cc" engine?
it's 46 or 48mm spacing
Is there anyway to put an air filter onto this carb? Or atleast something really small DIY that would keep water out when its raining
there's no point, it will just clog the filter basically. Water will still go through, just not as much
I just bought a 100cc ebay kit would the carb give me the most performance gain over the other mods you have done , like expansion chamber etc ?
It's not 100cc.
Okay , whatever its its just the normal ebay bike kit is . Would this carb upgrade give the most preformance gain ? With everyrhing else being stock
@tjbellant6 it will help. To get the most out of it you'd also upgrade the pipe, head, set squish gap to like 0.7mm, balance crank, port your cylinder
Having to drill hole in case is deal breaker
? it's just a simple hole drilling
Hey I'm trying to build a carb set up like yours. Could you point me in the right direction to get that intake manifold adapter? I can't seem to find one anywhere
40 to 47mm intake ebay
I can't find that anywhere @@trentbikes
How did you prime the carb after installing it on non reed engine
just keep trying to start it up and it will prime it for you. crankcase pressure and vacuum is sucking and pumping it. non reed doesnt mean it won't give it crankcase pressure, because the piston still closes the intake port when travelling down, and still give you crankcase pressure.
How long do the head gasket O rings last for you?
im not sure. I had to replace it every time I took the head off because the corners of the O ring were basically bent in a way that it would like break off easily.
where can i get that mount that you used to mount the carb to the engine?
it's a 40 to "47"mm intake manifold on ebay
How many teeth are there on the sprocket
36T
Do I need a piston with holes to use the carburetor?
uh no
that's only for reed valve

Can I run it without a pulse port??
No
It needs pulse port to pump the fuel
@@trentbikes The pulse port is only a trigger, it is not power to pump fuel. You need an external mechanical pump for them to work properly. The term "Pumper" car b has been totally erroneously tagged on these carbs. The correct name is "Diaphragm" carb. A true pumper carb has what's called an "accelerator pump" and is found on much larger engines. Again, there is absolutely not a built in fuel pump only a diaphragm the very weakly mimics what a pump does!
@bigcconservativeguy2534 yes it is, they have an internal pump to pump the fuel.

THIS! Riding gear literally saved my ass, I had a chain break and get sucked into the rear spokes at 35mph bounced on my ass like a skipping stone across a gravel driveway 😂
I know English, but can not completely understand your pronunciation...
What's problem: my hearing ability? Your pronunciation ability? or English is so irrecognizable?

A lot of my riding is done around 25 to 35mph in residential areas. Do you see any problems doing these speeds for extended time as with no midrange adjustment
The combination of the low and high together = mid.
