That was a very smooth video, well edited and nicely narrated. It does some up the C1 perfectly, I think it’s closest rival for versatility might be the Zeus ES, yes smaller cargo but with the benefit of exploration it might be a little more rounded.
Agreed, I'm a little wary of how they will make the Zeus fly, but those ships are going to be awesome for sure. Thank you for the kind words they mean a lot :)
The C1s stock weapons and components are also really good. Sure, they are not all top tier, but compared to the Cutlass Black which is practically unusable without swapping the QDrive the spirit excels even more at starting out after a wipe or for a new player.
I have spent a considerable amount on ships for SC. I won't disclose that BUT with that said. The C1 is literally my favorite ship. It will for sure be a daily for me
This is the perfect ship for star citizen as it is now. Other more specialized ships are going to be better in more developed stages of the game but as long as the game mostly revolves around simple missions and tasks, a multi purpose ship like this will be a dream. Not to mention, it’ll be good for when you wanna go driving around on daymar or something with your friends. You can fit 2 ROCs in there so you could probably fit a pair of most small rovers or a handful of bikes.
When do you think this game will actually get developed? I mean, it's well over a decade since they were "fully funded" and well past the initial launch dates. They have done NOTHING to prove to us that they will actually finish and launch the game. They have though, proven to us that they will continue to delay the launch and keep selling virtual ships. Question: Why would they stop what has obviously become their business model of selling ships and pushing launch back, when it's making them millions and millions?
@@8654ZuluFoxtrot What? Do you think there is a single day they will sit around and 'develop' the game? That is what they are doing as we speak. At this point you guys are the delusional ones.
I've been loving my C1, loved watching this for some added appreciation. It was my first real upgrade after my cutter. I tried out a cutty black and freelancer, but the C1 really just checks all my boxes. Thanks for the great video!
Ty for the review, been considering treating myself to this for my birthday in a couple of months time and after seeing the features of this and the clean interior design, no maze solving to get to the cockpit 😆then I've decided to add this to my Vulture & CR-8 Pices lineup. Oh & subbed too...👌
I really enjoyed this video! Very good editing and nice pronunciation. The review was nicely rounded off with the music. Thanks for your review! Subscribed
Yo just found you and this video for the first time. This is exactly the types of content I’m looking for. Great stuff! Been needing breakdowns on ships. I’m a new player and I don’t know where to start. Thank you! Looks like an awesome ship!
I preordered this ship back when it was first announced. Traded a couple ships for it. Best decision ever as it has quickly become one of my favorite ships and it came out right after i came back from a short break from SC. well worth it
Fell in love with it once I saw it at IAE, upgraded it with LTI just yesterday with the Kyogre paint for fun. I think I’m done looking for a daily, it’s right there, a thousand times better looking than the MSR which was its direct rival, and just reliable as hell. I love it.
I don’t know if this ship can replace my Cutty Black (Drake for life!!) but it certainly is a close contender m, for me. She’s in my stable now and quickly growing on me. Fantastic review, thanks to you I now know there’s a fuel port on the C1!! Didn’t have a clue!!
When I'm not in a fighter, I'm in the C1 Spirit. It's surprisingly great. Only thing I wished they'd consider is loading it into a larger hangar. It's a bit of a snug fit.
I like the Hercules; my go to ships. I am having trouble with the C2. It is hard to fly and often will nose dive into the ground. Great video and I am glad someone did a video on these ships 👌
i rented this for a little while and i love it so much, i just upgraded my cutter to the nomad so im going to enjoy the nomad for a little while before upgrading to the C1
Rn it’s my only ship. I really love it, but I think the tractor beam should be fixed on the back and a turret on top, cause rn co-pilot is basically useless… Too bad the crimson and Olympia paints are not for sale by cig…
The C1 Spirit is my new daily driver and it's definitely the best in game. If I was starting the game today never having played before, I'd get this, the Galaxy and an Orion to cover all the bases.
It is my daily driver now, but the gun racks don't work currently. I swapped my cutty for it, and paid 15 bucks on top. I consider it a win, I really like the C1.
For someone who doesn’t play an awful lot, and doesn’t really play beyond flying and having fun with friends, this is what I’d get. That tractor beam must make moving Furys in and out considerably easier…
@@Space-Tech Facts! I've held onto mine since July, happy to see it was worth the wait. Snagged me a Reclaimer today as well haha, it's now the largest ship I have pledged. SCH Bahamut VII Hyped that Origin day is upon us 🖤 Have my eyes set on an upgrade
this is literally the Pathfinder from ME Andromeda and im all for it, i was almost gonna say it looked like the Normandy but it doesnt have the same level of umph that the Normandy does. The Normandy was armed to the teeth, while the Pathfinder is more like a civilian explorer with weapons for self defense.
I upgraded to a Connie Taurus and just couldn't deal w how buggy it was compared to the c1. I can decorate my c1, and even put presents in the suit lockers :3
I dont have much spending money, ive only bought the C2 hercules being my favourite ship design and as a space trucker but i had no choice but to buy the spirit as my daily driver for its design and versatility.
I'd love to see a bit into the future and look at cargo gameplay fully implemented. Some things are not that clear to me yet. Guessing the C1 will take cargo (probably valuable, low quantity cargo) planet side. Wings must be good for something, otherwise they'd eat up space unnecessarily. Well, the RAFT might do the same, but it seems to have more emphasis on lifting heavily. Or maybe to planets with more extreme gravity. Maybe the weight of cargo plays a role in what you can and can't move? Four vtol engines on that one should have a purpose too. Though the extensive QT range of the RAFT confuses me a bit, suggesting it would do long range instead. Then there are larger cargo vessels, like the C2. Wings would suggest it also goes planet side, will fuel be that expensive in the future that multiple stops on a planet are not viable? CIG must have a plan, so they don't serve the same platter to everyone. Can't have a C2 go where the C1 goes as well.
For a ship this size, it flies exceptionally well. Although it is a really wide ship. And I mean WIDE. Feels funny how a medium sized ship can fill the entire hangar lol
That cargo room could be a medical variant for sure IF They wanted to create one. Plenty of place. Could fit 2 medical beds on the side with some healing items behind both. Replace the big door by a glass one like the C8R Pisces. Always wanted a good exploration/cargo ship but never liked much of the current designs appart from the 315p wich was my 1st ship back in 2012-2013. For some reason the C1 remind me a bit of a small Normandy SR2 yet doesn't look at all like it. Really weird feeling.
great review, very tempting. i have been saying this more and more lately FOMO hits hard but i need to remind myself thatwe can get all this in game eventually in 2077 /s. 🙂 Hope exciting things are planned for the FMAX, she feels very outdated with all the shiny new things. It would be very cool if FMAX was also a heavy lift workhorse able to perhaps bring in underslung NOVA's or something like that with VTOL engines.
Appreciate it! Yeah I always say earn in game whenever possible :) the free lander gold pass will substantially change them I think. We've seen some sneak peeks of the components being added in, hopefully they also drop a couple of crew members
Hey Space Tech, I'm facing issues while trying to play the game. I'm not sure if it's because of the ongoing free flight, but the server instability is causing my game to lag or freeze, hampering my overall gaming experience. Do you have any suggestions or tips to improve the gameplay experience?
Unfortunately free flight time is absolutely miserable for servers, what you can do while you wait for it to end is to try and select servers where people are asleep when you're playing. For me that's typically AUS. You get higher ping but better server health
This thing is just PERFECT. I got rid of all the smaller ships pledged, no point in any of those. MAYBE a Cutter Scout when we have something to Scout for.....
To be fully competitive with the Cutty, it needs another shield. This would help with the CS issue and give you more time to get out of there. Let the Cutty keep its weapon superiority so long as you have slightly higher survivability. Currently it only has front and back shields. It needs full 360 coverage. Definitely hope they fix that tractor beam issue, that is just appalling. The weapons rack doesn't currently work which is a little sad. The VTOL wing tips are surprisingly fragile. The hangars that are designated for this ship, barely allow for its width so it is very nerve wracking to land. Your major components are JUST INSIDE the ramp entrance so they can be screwed with first thing. There is only one entrance to the ship. That's all I can think of right now. I actually love this ship and hope that they do a slight redesign to fix these issues as I really want to use this as a daily.
With the exception of the single entrance it out performs the cutty in every aspect tbh. It's more maneuverable. Pilot Control all guns, it's got a tractor beam. Bigger bay for cargo or vehicles, it's even more durable. It's true it does need to be in a bigger hangar but iv only scraped the sides like 2x now.
2 faces is still 360 degree coverage, just how it splits the damage from front vs back hemispheres for S2 shields. S1 is 360 deg bubble. S3 is 360 deg with 4 faces
My main question is should I upgrade to this from the cutty black? In terms of feel I certainly like the c1 better but overall I want the best bang for buck. One thing I noticed is this only has one exit whereas the cutty has the two side doors. Another question, how future proof is the cutty? You mentioned the c1 has spots for jump drive and flight suits etc. does that make the c1 far more future proof?
They have tradeoffs for sure. But with regards to future proofing, I expect the Cutty gold pass to bring a lot of those features. The main difference will be atmospheric performance will be stronger on the C1, where the Cutlass will be better in combat
I waited 10 years for a ship in this class to arrive to be PROPER Sci-Fi and not a space AK-47 like the Cutlass or the fucking fever-nightmare Fallout-toaster Freelancer. I literally leapt on the buy button the second the C1 came online.
was fun flying, not a fan for it being a daily driver. with the docking bays you get assigned, you need to land almost exactly square in the center or your bumping the sides. with the bigger profile also, can make landing at bunkers sometimes difficult also. If i do need to haul cargo, i got my M2.
I still need a ship of this size, but can't decide between the C1 and the Zeus Mk. 2 ES. The latter is not available atm, so I would guss this is the time to use the C1 for the time being and have a look for potential later upgrades.
If you're on the fence about the ES, grab a CCU to it today, so you don't have to worry about it going up in price when it releases! Other than that, solid plan :)
I love the Cutlass. I'm trying the C1 out though. I fly with gimbals, so for me this actually has two guns a size up from the Cutlass. As for the Zeus... if those two size 4s aren't either gimbaled by default or bumped up a size so they can be sized down when gimbled, then I don't think the ship will be worth it. However none of the three can carry an Ursa. I haven't tried Pyro yet so I don't know how common those solar flares are, but I am thinking that maybe enclosed ground vehicles might be preferable to open tops there.
So what are these maneuvering buffs you mentioned ? I really disliked the amount of time it took to turn in it, gladius and similar ships would run circles around me with ease
If you can believe it, the spirits used to fly even worse on PTU. They'll probably need control surfaces to be at their best, and of course we need to bring the light fighter meta under control haha
It's huge compared to the Black, and the landing gear is TOO short! I take the Black every day to do bunker missions, and I've tried the Spirit's and they just don't fit in the same areas. Also, the size to cargo rating of the FL MAX is unbeaten. Although the Sprit series are lookers!
Лучший корабль в своём классе! Единственный корабль, который захотелось купить как только появился прототип, что я и сделал! Любовь с первого взгляда!😍👍
I think the hype around this ship is mostly because it looks fast and cool. Well and of course because its new. Glad they are adding more variety to that ship class though. Probably just me but its so weird seeing everyone in the same exact ship at space stations and stuff.
I fly a Freelancer MIS as a daily driver, but recently did a CCU from my Mule (with LTI) to a Zeus ES with the A1 as my loaner ship. I expect CIG to change that to the cargo variant (C1) when it’s in game and I’ll be happy to fly that until the Zeus is released If a better ship comes along, I likely won’t upgrade again as I like the idea of developing a relationship with my ship (names, when?) and a few quirks are good for that. I intend to keep the MIS, even though I don’t want to collect a ‘fleet’ as many backers do, but if I find myself never taking it out, I might melt her in a year or two … waiting for the Gold Standard pass on the Freelancer before I consign it to the smelters. But for now, it will be interesting to see if I abandon my Freelancer for the Spirit, as that tractor beam looks like a lot of fun.
A fellow freelancer pilot! I have a C1 and freelancer DUR, and still prefer to daily my DUR even though it really needs that gold pass. Melting the C1 during IAE. Something about the weapons, flying and entrances with the freelancer just feel more comfortable to me.
It looks nice, and is well appointed BUT (and these are big "buts"): it's slower than a Connie in atmo. It only has a single shield which, for a medium, means it only has 30% of the shielding of other ships it competes with. Virtually every other ship its size has fuel scoops...the C1 Spirit does not. And while the tractor beam is nice, the lack of weapon turret makes this a little thin (decent pilot guns though).
Great review, I also think this ship is a first class daily driver. However I would definitely NOT swap the cannons for repeaters. The C1 has speed, with speed you can create and use range, at which point you won't get hit and can hit hard with the cannons. Use the range, the cannons are excellent. Forcing yourself into dogfighting range with repeaters or ballistics is a mistake when this ship has range creation as its combat strength.
Why does the C1 still not have a personnel entry elevator or entry hatch? Instead crew has to use the cargo ramp once again and the middle of the cargo bay has to stay clear so that crew can get through and so it cannot be used for additional cargo. Will CiG ever learn to think before designing ships? Why do they keep making the same mistakes over and over again? At least since the MSR it should be very clear that having only one ingress point is bad!
It feels like this is now just a part of crusader design language unfortunately. Luckily the tractor beam can be used from the copilots seat so you can clear the middle tunnel before attempting to exit your ship!
@@Space-Tech Hmm but that's a very sub-optimal workaround. I can't image that CiG wants to leave all these ships flawed like that, in a game that is ALL ABOUT SHIPS! The MSR forever having only the cargo ramp to enter/exit for example feels like a fundamentally flawed design from any realistic point of view, security flaws, etc. And it doesn't feel like this is by design but it feels like this is an oversight on the designer's part.
Hey man, how do you do the 3D model thing that starts at 32 seconds ? oh and also the link for your code is broken in the description, so you might want to update that for people to sign up with your code 😄
I am debating upgrading my nomad to this but worried about it's combat ability. The ship dps is way higher than the Nomad and maneuverability is actually quite close, but the turn rate on the c1 seems so bad.
Not sure I would consider this ship over its competitors personally. When compared to the Cutlass/Freelancer is't more expensive, slower, flies like crap in atmo even though it's a flying wing, less maneuverability, less firepower (also a smaller capacitor), larger yet only 1xS2 shield. This is also the only ship where you have to give up a defense turret for a tractorbeam on rails (yet is only usefull when in the rear location) while every other ship out there gets a tractorbeam without having to give anything up. So yeah, I don't really see the appeal here. It's also being advertised as a 2-man ship yet that second person has nothing to do most of the time. It looks fancy and sleek but when compared to the competitors it seems to fall short on every aspect. The only thing it seems to have going for it is a bit more cargo than the Cutlass Black. Then when we look at the Zeus-CL we see that it's smaller than the Spirit yet with double the cargo capacity, a defense turret, 3 times the shields, and a free tractorbeam. I definitely think that CIG should just give the Spirit C1 a static defense turret and then place that tractorbeam turret at the rear; as well as increase the speed and maneuverability. To my knowledge CIG advertised it as a fast ship yet now every mention of speed was deleted and it's now just a slow ship that can't even fly properly; even though this one is shaped like a wing whereas the others are shaped like bricks. Really makes no sense imo. Really feels as if CIG hates Crusader ships for some reason as they also did the same with the Mercury and Ares where they completely nerfed those ships into oblivion and then ignored them.
Hey appreciate your thoughts. Id like to think that control surfaces are really going to make a large difference in atmo. While today it's not as good as it should be, this ship will undeniably be better once the shape of ships is taken into account for control surfaces. I think each of the three has a place, but it ends up coming to what you enjoy the most as well. At least for now it has much stronger thrusters than the freelancer, and they are a bit better than the Cutty overall. Now the CL, that's really going to mess things up, so I have to imagine it's going to be a good bit more expensive
@@Space-Tech Yeah, I guess we'll have to wait and see. Definitely hoping that the VET will approach this with an open mind and make the Spirit C1 a bit faster than it currently is (especially in atmo) plus increase the Pitch and Yaw rates as those are currently lower than the Cutlass and Freelancer. Then I would have liked it if CIG could just give it a defense turret and simply installs that tractorbeam above the loading ramp as that's the only place where you're going to be using it anyways. I doubt that they would give it a gun turret plus tractorbeam though so you have a 2-man ship where 1 person can easily do everything by themselves. The Zeus CL definitely riled things up as it wasn't all that more expensive compared to the C1 (25 bucks or so?). For a ship offering double the cargo, 3 times the shielding, defense turret, plus a tractorbeam that's a pretty decent deal. Now I believe CIG said that the Zeus was going to be slower that the Spirit but the latter is already dreadfully slow. So yeah... Not too impressed atm. Then again, I already had several other cargoships myself including a Taurus so maybe I'm just going to keep the Spirit E1 so I have something to ferry passengers/VIPs with. Also not sure if I should keep that A1 as bombs aren't all that useful (can only use them on locations with gravity) whereas a ship with lots of missiles/torpedoes might be of more use. 🙂
Why you shouldn't use the C1 over Cutlass Black and Freelaner? Speed: C1 is the fastest. Followed by Black by a small margin. Firepower: All have 4S3 Guns. Black has more missiles. Turret. Black has the best turret. Freelancer is rather useless. For Solo players it's not a big difference. But if you normaly fly togehter wit another person the C1 isn't the best choice. Defense: Freelancer has best shields but is sluggish and easy to hit. Black is agile but fragile. You easily loose weapon and thrusters. And a lost main engine is a lost fight. C1 has a big top surface. But it's rather durable. No clear winner or looser here. Cargo: C1 has the biggest cargo hold and well placed tractor beam. Freelancer has a second entrance which maybe helpfull. But no tractor beam. Black has smaller Cargo but nice side doors. The tractor beam maybe useful in future after a update to it's position. Overall Choose what you like. All ships have their advantages and disadvantages.
Yes but the C1 also doesn't have exposed engines, I hit cuttys with distos and then I all u gotta do is punch through one of those engines and they are dead in the water. I ran the msr as my daily driver for 3 years now, the problems that exist and ignored by the CIG team has become frustrating - doors - the unnecessary labryinth maze , After flying the C1 I upgraded my MSR to the drake cat so I had a massive SCU hauler, and bought the warbond C1 to make my daily driver...haven't regretted it, although if they ever fix the msr I'll have no problem melting the c1 and rebuying my BIS MSR pledge Just could t take how long and faulty the doors are...and the fact cig refuses to fix them.
New ships is better than the old ones that haven't been updated. Way to many ships need a gold/balance pass and they are just making a bigger back log, not to mention the ships that we have been waiting YEARS FOR. Having only 1 entrance is a huge safety issue/red flag IMO. Ships can/should have tiny elevators or ladders like the Corsair has.
I'm more of a Freelancer kind of guy. I love Crusader too but as someone who used to drive big rigs across the country, the max just clicked with me automatically. It's a tier above the CL and base Freelancer I know but, the design language of the Freelancer Max just screams space truck.
The Herc has curvy lines instead of all the angles of the ares and spirit, and the msr kinda has a little of both. It will be interesting to see where the Genesis redesign lands, closer to the original concept, or more like the modern Crusader shape language shown in the spirit?
It's a great looking ship, but I just can't get over that the Freelancer Max and Zeus Mk II CL have a very similar footprint, but carry twice the cargo. The C1 certainly is the most sleek looking, but with only half the cargo it just gives up too much utility.
Totally fair, the Max pretty much always invalidated the Cutty Black and Base Lancer the to you as well? The CL is awesome for sure but definitely comes at a higher cost
I love the crusader design ...there are some fundamental flaws. The MSR has been my daily for the past three years with hopes that it's issues get fixed, I finally retired the MSR a few days ago for a big hauler, I upgraded the MSR to the cat and picked up the C1 as my new daily...main reason : the doors actually fucking work. Sad, if it ever comes down to it I'll buy back that pledge...but I just couldnt take the long broken frustrating journey to the MSRs cockpit
I've spent a bit of time with the Spirit and so far I have mixed feelings. On the one hand I really want to like this ship but on the other when I stack it against the Cutty or Freelancer I find it to be a comparative nightmare to land at the bays given to you by stations.
Sorry but the unnecessarily massive wings are just absurd for the ships size. First time I flew it I ripped the wings off because I didn't wait for the hanger doors to open ALL THE WAY. Add to that the one point of ingress at the far rear of the ship via the cargo ramp with no quick access to the cockpit and its just much more of a pain to fly than the Freelancer. No it may be new and shiny but its not for me.
I fear that CIG didn't realize the width of their hangar bays. The Spirit is just too large to fit in the 'standard' hangar reserves for ships like the Cutlass/Freelancer/Zeus resulting in these issues. They should really bump the size designation up by one point so that it gets assigned a hangar that is one step larger imo. Either that of they need to update their hangar bays and make the doors larger too. That would be a ton of work though so I guess simply giving it a larger hangar for takeoff/landing should be the best option.🙂
Honestly bang for buck, The nomad is a better daily driver. 24 SCU, carry a ROC, cheaper than a C1, still has full living quarters. C1 is nice, but we're talking daily driver, not built for a game loop (as the thumbnail said).
I can see where you're coming from, but the C1 can carry the ROC in addition to cargo, and most importantly I think a size 2 quantum drive is just necessary, and will be even more so with Pyro!
@@QuotidianStupidity For consideration, I always factor in price. Remember the thumbnail deemed this video as "best daily driver" and the nomad can do everything the c1 can, for less. In no way am I saying the C1 is bad, but it goes a little beyond a daily driver for a lot of people.
@@RoughGalaxyYT daily driver is just a ship that gets used every day, and this one is better than a Nomad for a variety of tasks, which is exactly what you need. How can something go “beyond” being a daily driver
C1 vs CL will be the difficult choice. FL Max has its place if you value that styling, but C1 and CL are fairly similar in profile. They should fly similarly in atmo. But the CL has some advantages, mainly way more cargo and better shields but also better crew area, additional side entrance for safety from boarders. C1 definitely looks cool, but it's not an easy choice compared to the CL.
This ship...Shamed to admit, but the cool factor of it(and that well done add) made me buy it(well, I had some store credit so managed to "save" a little)
Never mind, the following comment was spoken too soon without getting the details correct. : Can't fit the T.Storm, keeping the MAX, maybe even keeping the stubby legged lethargic Corsair. Hope we get to design our own ships and bunker/bases someday. Also can't fit the Storm in the Star Runner. Frustrating how CIG designs everything like hangar bays too narrow, too short, too small. Guess I'm just in a mood.....
@@Space-Tech Figures I spoke too soon. I was sure the MAX would fit the Storm, but of course not. And even if the size fit, the mouse & keyboard make driving miserable.
Man what is with you guys and your "Hot Kinky Joe" approach to stuffing things in whatever hole you can attempt to fit it?? Dude, it's a tank and you're frustrated that it doesn't fit in small cargo ships?? Like really? What's next? You want an APC to fit on the back of a Dragonfly? Come on man.... This approach is jacked up. You have the entire Hercules line to haul everything in that category. All ships can't and shouldn't be able to do all things. And hauling tanks should definitely be one of those things. Your frustration is misplaced..
I think the storm is definitely too big though, it should fit in more than 2 ships more than the NOVA Tank right? As of now it only fits in the carrack and you can it into a corsair. Would be cool if it could say fit into a Valk for example :)

The C1s stock weapons and components are also really good. Sure, they are not all top tier, but compared to the Cutlass Black which is practically unusable without swapping the QDrive the spirit excels even more at starting out after a wipe or for a new player.
@@funki7500 just got to try it out. A great little daily runner, especially for me that likes to run small batches of my refined mining material.
The bit about the toilet lighting convinced me to subscribe 😂
Appreciate it!
I have spent a considerable amount on ships for SC. I won't disclose that BUT with that said. The C1 is literally my favorite ship. It will for sure be a daily for me
Hell yeah man, enjoy that ship!
I love this thing. It is my first concept ship purchase and did not disappoint.
I've been loving my C1, loved watching this for some added appreciation. It was my first real upgrade after my cutter. I tried out a cutty black and freelancer, but the C1 really just checks all my boxes. Thanks for the great video!
Great to hear that the C1 is working well for ya! Appreciate the support :)
Ty for the review, been considering treating myself to this for my birthday in a couple of months time and after seeing the features of this and the clean interior design, no maze solving to get to the cockpit 😆then I've decided to add this to my Vulture & CR-8 Pices lineup. Oh & subbed too...👌
Thank you so much! I'm glad I could be of some help :) this thing is a top tier daily driver imo
I really enjoyed this video! Very good editing and nice pronunciation. The review was nicely rounded off with the music. Thanks for your review! Subscribed
That's very kind of you to say, thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed the video :)
I love it.
Hahaha hadn't heard it called the Kyogre paint before but that's a perfect description :D glad you're enjoying it!
I'm always a Crusader fan of ship designs, so the C1 is going to be my daily driver, sleek and stylish and it just looks cool
Never discount the cool factor :D
I don’t know if this ship can replace my Cutty Black (Drake for life!!) but it certainly is a close contender m, for me. She’s in my stable now and quickly growing on me.
Fantastic review, thanks to you I now know there’s a fuel port on the C1!! Didn’t have a clue!!
Hey I love my Cutlass back to death! But even I can't help but love the level of polish on this thing haha. Also thank you for the kind words!
Upgraded from nomad to C1. And oh boy if I like it! What a great ship!
Hell yeah!
Was looking forward for something to change my janky cutlass. Your video was just perfect. Will upgrade right now to it.
You can also rent the C1 for free from the expo floor to try it out! Either way I hope you enjoy it :D
When I'm not in a fighter, I'm in the C1 Spirit. It's surprisingly great. Only thing I wished they'd consider is loading it into a larger hangar. It's a bit of a snug fit.
I've lost a wing more often than I'd like to admit 😅
Excellent review! Thank you!
You're very welcome!
Thank you for the support!
I like the Hercules; my go to ships. I am having trouble with the C2. It is hard to fly and often will nose dive into the ground. Great video and I am glad someone did a video on these ships 👌
Having a daily I’ve always been focused on combat ships but I decided to get an A1 and I love it. I’m keeping this one.
The Spirits are awesome no doubt
i rented this for a little while and i love it so much, i just upgraded my cutter to the nomad so im going to enjoy the nomad for a little while before upgrading to the C1
It's a wonderful ship for sure :) also it has a warbond CCU available for a slight discount if you're not using credit to upgrade!
Great video. +1 sub and actually going to upgrade the Freelancer to the C1.
Appreciate it! The difference in polish is night and day!
Nice review, easy to watch and listen to. Good to have more options in the space - I still love the Cutlass though :)
Hey thanks for the kind words :) (also I definitely still love my Cutlass Black)
Rn it’s my only ship. I really love it, but I think the tractor beam should be fixed on the back and a turret on top, cause rn co-pilot is basically useless…
Too bad the crimson and Olympia paints are not for sale by cig…
The C1 Spirit is my new daily driver and it's definitely the best in game. If I was starting the game today never having played before, I'd get this, the Galaxy and an Orion to cover all the bases.
Awesome! Glad to see you're enjoying it man!
I just wish that we could operate the tractor beam from the pilots seat as well, and the gun rack fit the FS9 heavy machine gun
It is my daily driver now, but the gun racks don't work currently. I swapped my cutty for it, and paid 15 bucks on top. I consider it a win, I really like the C1.
This paired with the 600i would be a sick fleet!
Just what i got myself at IAE 😄
This is a ship I really want to like, but the poor crew space and the only entrance being the loading ramp in the rear has me waiting for the Zeus.
It does feel like one entrance is now a staple of crusader unfortunately
Excellent video! Thanks!
Thank you for the support!
It gave me instant Halo CE vibes when I saw it. That reason alone is why I want it.
This and the Syulen, both!
For someone who doesn’t play an awful lot, and doesn’t really play beyond flying and having fun with friends, this is what I’d get.
That tractor beam must make moving Furys in and out considerably easier…
I already swapped out my cutlass for it. Right away.
Love the C1! It can even hold it's own in a fight, nothing outlandish, but she can slap.
It really has grown on me since concept! Doesn't hurt that it's so good looking either haha
@@Space-Tech Facts! I've held onto mine since July, happy to see it was worth the wait.
Snagged me a Reclaimer today as well haha, it's now the largest ship I have pledged.

Hyped that Origin day is upon us 🖤
Have my eyes set on an upgrade
Best medium ship for a solo player that might want to bring a friend now and again
Perfectly slots in, only difference is copilot gets a turret on the FL and Cutty
this is literally the Pathfinder from ME Andromeda and im all for it, i was almost gonna say it looked like the Normandy but it doesnt have the same level of
umph that the Normandy does. The Normandy was armed to the teeth, while the Pathfinder is more like a civilian explorer with weapons for self defense.
i just got this, and im loving it so far. not to bad for bounty hunting
I upgraded to a Connie Taurus and just couldn't deal w how buggy it was compared to the c1. I can decorate my c1, and even put presents in the suit lockers :3
Hey in the verse, your ship is basically your home so I get it!
Yupp all great points. Really feels like the C1s design was done with control surfaces in mind
For a ship this size, it flies exceptionally well. Although it is a really wide ship. And I mean WIDE. Feels funny how a medium sized ship can fill the entire hangar lol
They really did design the wings for control surfaces haha
Hope exciting things are planned for the FMAX, she feels very outdated with all the shiny new things.
You get higher ping but better server health
ill give that a hard try, thank you @@Space-Tech
Pretty sure that isn't how shields work, all shields are 360
With the exception of the single entrance it out performs the cutty in every aspect tbh. It's more maneuverable. Pilot Control all guns, it's got a tractor beam. Bigger bay for cargo or vehicles, it's even more durable. It's true it does need to be in a bigger hangar but iv only scraped the sides like 2x now.
It's a 360° shield
2 faces is still 360 degree coverage, just how it splits the damage from front vs back hemispheres for S2 shields. S1 is 360 deg bubble. S3 is 360 deg with 4 faces
I upgraded my C8X to this and I have no regrets.
You get more cargo with the C1 but less shielding and slower in atmo (and no side entrances).
They have tradeoffs for sure. But with regards to future proofing, I expect the Cutty gold pass to bring a lot of those features. The main difference will be atmospheric performance will be stronger on the C1, where the Cutlass will be better in combat
As with any ship it really depends on how you are going to use it.
100% the best bang for the buck daily driver
With you there!
I waited 10 years for a ship in this class to arrive to be PROPER Sci-Fi and not a space AK-47 like the Cutlass or the fucking fever-nightmare Fallout-toaster Freelancer. I literally leapt on the buy button the second the C1 came online.
Gread editing the tranitions!
Thank you!
was fun flying, not a fan for it being a daily driver. with the docking bays you get assigned, you need to land almost exactly square in the center or your bumping the sides. with the bigger profile also, can make landing at bunkers sometimes difficult also.
If i do need to haul cargo, i got my M2.
Supposedly they'll be moving into the bigger Hangars soon™️ but I totally get it for now!
I'd buy one, but I already have an MSR. I'll probably pick one up when we can buy them ingame.
A man of taste and refinement. Good to see.
Really shouldn't be that expensive with AUEC :)
Of course they will, that is the whole point of a smaller ship
How do you get that red paint with the crusader logo on the wings?!? What is that paint called?
Crimson paint! You can only get it on the store for now unfortunately
Real pretty ship!
For real!
I fly a Freelancer MIS as a daily driver, but recently did a CCU from my Mule (with LTI) to a Zeus ES with the A1 as my loaner ship.
I expect CIG to change that to the cargo variant (C1) when it’s in game and I’ll be happy to fly that until the Zeus is released
If a better ship comes along, I likely won’t upgrade again as I like the idea of developing a relationship with my ship (names, when?) and a few quirks are good for that.
Something about the weapons, flying and entrances with the freelancer just feel more comfortable to me.
i have the C1 and A1 they are great
You planning on the E1 as well?
i think transporting people around might be a long way off so no .. sadly @@Space-Tech
I hope they add the same tractor beam style (can go up and down to fill cargo hold) to the C2
Feels like a must now :)

Get that XL-1 from Orison or Port Tressler ASAP!
Would love a titan v2, with a similar spec to the C1
Great video!
Appreciate it!
I wish they gave the Lancer an interior overhaul. Give the max a tractor beam and i will gladly give myself to it
We know a gold pass is coming!
The Swiss army knife of Star Citizen.

What do you mean? The cannons have 315M less range than the repeaters.
@@JKurayamieffective range plus you need less time on target for equivalent damage.
Yeah in current balance cannons are crap. But you make a good point for the future.
Not to mention Zeus-CL beats it at EVERY point it tries to be good at.
@@Neogentronyx Yes when the CL comes live, the C1 will be more or less obsolete.
The balance against the CL is pretty much going to be price unless they further nerf it. I'm very bullish on the whole Zeus lineup.
Outstanding video.
Appreciate it!
Hey man, how do you do the 3D model thing that starts at 32 seconds ? oh and also the link for your code is broken in the description, so you might want to update that for people to sign up with your code 😄
Hey thanks for that! Fixed it :) Also the 3D models are usually available on the sale page for the ships themselves!
They need to update the MSR to the new tech of the spirit and the C2...
And they need to update that freelancer!
Soon™️
I am debating upgrading my nomad to this but worried about it's combat ability. The ship dps is way higher than the Nomad and maneuverability is actually quite close, but the turn rate on the c1 seems so bad.
The C1 is already on Live ? or PTU for the moment ?
It's live!
@@Space-Tech Cool thanks
Thx for the analysis
Agreed 100% w/Danakar
Defense:
Freelancer has best shields but is sluggish and easy to hit.
Black is agile but fragile. You easily loose weapon and thrusters. And a lost main engine is a lost fight.
C1 has a big top surface. But it's rather durable.
No clear winner or looser here.
Cargo:
C1 has the biggest cargo hold and well placed tractor beam.
Freelancer has a second entrance which maybe helpfull. But no tractor beam.
Black has smaller Cargo but nice side doors. The tractor beam maybe useful in future after a update to it's position.
Overall
Choose what you like. All ships have their advantages and disadvantages.
Yes but the C1 also doesn't have exposed engines, I hit cuttys with distos and then I all u gotta do is punch through one of those engines and they are dead in the water.
I ran the msr as my daily driver for 3 years now, the problems that exist and ignored by the CIG team has become frustrating - doors - the unnecessary labryinth maze ,
After flying the C1 I upgraded my MSR to the drake cat so I had a massive SCU hauler, and bought the warbond C1 to make my daily driver...haven't regretted it, although if they ever fix the msr I'll have no problem melting the c1 and rebuying my BIS MSR pledge
Just could t take how long and faulty the doors are...and the fact cig refuses to fix them.
"Easily pick up crates and vehicles" meanwhile fighting with tractor beam. 😂
Hey I mention it's gotta get fixed haha
Hell yeah man, there's just something so industrial about it
I hope we get a version of this that's 2 or 3 times the size. It's so close to being reminiscent of the Normandy from Mass Effect

I take it you've never seen the Normandy @@Ewski
@@QuotidianStupidity yeess...
@@Ewski the C2 isn’t anything like it?
Still going to daily my Carrack. Its just home for me.
The carrack is an incredible ship no doubt
Totally fair, a daily driver especially should speak to you. I hope Crusader ships one day get alternative entries haha
So a ship that most think looks worse, has fewer guns, will be worse to fly in atmo and in combat and has less storage is better?
No chance
I worry that they will destroy the maneuverability of the CL as compensation to balance it against the C1
Aye.
This ship...Shamed to admit, but the cool factor of it(and that well done add) made me buy it(well, I had some store credit so managed to "save" a little)
Cool factor is heavily underrated imo :D
I am so glad I melted my freelancer for this, and it been so worth tje wait!
Going from such an old ship to this must feel so crazy!
Yes it was... I still love everything about the freelancer.... even the 4 crew stations. But the c1 just looks better. What else can I say.
bought it the other day, the star runner felt lonely.
I'll wait till the zues CL drops before I get this
Never mind, the following comment was spoken too soon without getting the details correct.
Hey I feel you, the storm is outrageous. Only fits in 2 ships that don't fit a Tonk :(
@@Space-Tech Figures I spoke too soon.
@@durtyred86 what planet are YOU from expecting people to be reasonable or logical? Planet California?
I think when control surfaces/areodynamics are implemented, the C1 will have a huge advantage over it;s competitors when it comes to planetary flight.
100%
can you please tell me what paint you are using
It's the Crimson paint I believe :)
yep i did upgrade from c1 to zeus. 😄
