I was there. This bird is the most beautiful thing I've ever seen in my life. I've got tears in my eyes as I first saw through my binoculars an albatross flying over the water.

I lived on midway island almost 4 yrs. My dad a naval officer stationed here. I was a kid and remember everything but did not understand the war seeing the rusty wreckage of aircraft's scattered across the shoreline from the end of the airstrip to my dads naval base. I still don't understand the word. The point or rusty bucket. I attended school at george cannon. Also there was 1200 or less servicemen and their families. Single men live in barracks. Every morning early I can riverly and night I hear taps

Hi I lived on midway 4 years in 1970. My dad stationed here from the navy. I attended school at george cannon. My dad takes care of fairy terms that fallen off trees. I have to take turns with my siblings to help my dad catch minnows. We had over 300 birds to feed everyday. We are the only family to do this but we have help from neighbors and my dad naval workers

Hi. When I lived on midway my dad would take of baby fairy terns that accidently fall off their nest. He would feed them minnows. We would have over 100 terns. Me and my sister and brother take turns with my dad catching minnows. When the terns get into adult stage they would fly away but sometimes come back for a visit and a free meal
