I just recently discovered that the B-2 Stealth Bomber's profile shape is almost a spitting image of a Peregrine Falcon's profile while diving! My mind was COMPLETELY blown when I saw that!
According to scientists humans could run up to 40 mph if they really pushed themselves to their limits. I assume these estimates are for elite sprinters and not marathon runners so your average normal Joe couldn't do it only the kinds like Usain Bolt. Of course I believe height does play a role on how fast we humans can run so that might involve some good genetics too.

I have Guinea fowl at home and I was wondering why it wasn't compared to the chickens when they appeared running and were already moving into the flying birds. I was not disappointed when they came out 1:30 If you've every tried to chase a guinea fowl, you really know how fast those birds are.

I driving down the freeway and a pigeon was flying parallel to me, keeping up with traffic for about 15 seconds, did not know they could fly that fast. Will never forget that sight

I'll go search for my jaw, I heard it hitting the ground just then. I live in a quiet and green/water-rich Rotterdam-suburb, I know these guys. And swans, too; especially when kayaking. I always keep a safe and respectful distance from those BTW...

Great video!! I was amazed at some of the average lifespans of some birds. The animation was great. I was getting goosebumps towards the end watching the eagles and falcons dive bomb.
And being the slowest flying animal (except for only insects). But I guess by flying you can at least get out of reach of the Kiwi, given it's not stubborn enough to continue chasing, waiting for you too land, as you can't overtake it even by flight XD

What I want to know is that there is a pigeon race in my country. They will be trained to dive directly overhead or what we call 90 degrees Above head, at very high speed. In fact, it is not uncommon for pigeons to fall to their death before they have time to reduce their speed. try to look for Indonesian racing pigeons.

What I want to know is that there is a pigeon race in my country. They will be trained to dive directly overhead or what we call 90 degrees Above head, at very high speed. In fact, it is not uncommon for pigeons to fall to their death before they have time to reduce their speed. try to look for Indonesian racing pigeons.
