Slowly started to forget that you once had long hair. But what is the science behind guys looking so fresh and bright in short hair. I myself always feel like that, esp whenever it try growing out vs a clean short look, the latter always wins!
Long hair is hard to pull off. The texture, thickness etc of your hair really shows. And if you dont take care of it and have it cut well its more noticeable than with short hair. But if its done well and suits your style it can look great.
I think a big part of it is the sides of the hair. If you have shorter hair, your sides are a lot cleaner, maybe even shaved, so I feel like it just creates this clean look.
Short hair brings out ur masculinity, and u don't have to take care of it much to look good. Long hair can make guys look feminine if they don't compensate with something else.

When i wear one colour i look like a straight up prisoner. Sweatpants/shorts and just a plain sweatshirt with boxie fit and a circular collar that hide my collar bone... The look on my face when i realize that is priceless.
There's also a big matter of not every color working for every person. Find what colors suit you. For me personally it's "fall/ autumn" colors, so lots of beiges mostly lol (and the khaki green, maybe some dark not too saturated reds).

I like wearing bold colors, but not many patterns, so: style complicated with colors but simple with patterns. I've found out that you can wear practically any major colors (blue, red, yellow, green, orange, violet, white, black) together long as there's no more than four or five of them and the colors "talk" with each others from the top to the bottom of the outfit. For example, same color repeated at jacket and shoes or cap and pants; no different color at every single piece of cloth.

I find that sometimes it works with clothes, but most of the time different hues (colors) should be matched with different levels of saturation to create a distinction making them complimentary. Ofc you have to know color wheels to identify what colors are complimentary, but to keep it simple, if two colors seem close in saturation, you best switch a piece out.
