I've had mine for years and wasn't comfortable using it. Just found it and in desperation had to use it. Ok the first the bevel came out the wrong way. Wrong side of the line but I only found that out by finding this video. Excellent. It shall have good use now. Bx
I have one of these. Being left handed makes this hard to use. In order to have the bevel the correct way, need to draw the lines on the board that shows. I then cut and then need to erase the lines, causing a mess! Not good for left handers.
No, this cutter is meant to cut up to 1.5MM mat board. You can try our 8ply mat cutter, which will cut up to 3.175mm mat board. Not sure how it will do with cardboard.
Hello. Using the #2000 is not difficult at all. Just make sure you change the blade often, adjust the blade depth so it barely passes through the mat you are cutting and always use scrap mat board as slip sheet underlayment. Never use self healing vinyl cutting mats. Use the #2000 along a suitable straight edge and always push it away from you with your right hand. Never slide it right to left as that can rock the cutting head and give you hooks and curves. Mark your borders out properly and start and stop on the lines without going over. Hello, Make sure you are marking and cutting the mat from the back and you have scrap mat board slip sheet underneath. After marking out the 4 borders, make sure the cutting head is riding inside the four lines, not on the outside of the lines. Otherwise your bevels will be going the wrong direction. @@lukeshieldsnature The 2000 is designed to cut 4ply mat board 1/16". We do make a cutter that will cut 8ply 1/8" mat board. It is our model 5000 8 Ply cutter.

Help, my bevel is coming out as a reverse bevel. How can I avoid this?
