- In this video I'm showing you how to convert an Epson 2803 printer into a sublimation printer. this is not a trouble shooting video. This is the basic setup including unpacking and filling the ink wells. Also, this is not meant to be a "technical" video. I do not show you how to set up the printer beyond filling the ink wells. The printer has detailed instructions on how to do that.

Epson 2803 Printer - 1st one purchased on Amazon and 2nd one purchased from Target. WalMart also sells them.
You can use any Epson EcoTank printer of your choice but this video focuses on the 2803.
As always, I try to list everything I use but if I forget something, please do not hesitate to ask in the comments below.

Can you help me??? I have set my Epson ET 2803 printer setup with the Hippo sublimation ink - it’s been through all the alignments tests -everything is working - heads & nozzles are good - all my settings on my printer are set “except” my ink levels show “empty”!! My printer is not recognizing my sublimation inks! How do I over ride this???

I’m so sorry I missed your call spoke - it’s not my printer - it my computer under the printers settings that is still showing the ink levels empty - all the other settings are right but the computer’s settings for the printer isn’t connecting & reading the printers ink levels

Try cleaning the printer heads. That usually fixes the problem.
How do u pull that bottom tray out I’ve tried and can’t get mine out :(
That is not where you load the paper so there is a small tray that pulls out as a paper catcher after it is done printing. It just pulls out with very little effort.
Would love to know how to remove the ink from this printer
I have no idea. But why would you want to remove it? You would probably have to extract it using a syringe.

That sounds like a printing software issue not a printer issue. The printer itself is equipped to print 8 1/2 x 11.

No. I didn't do a detailed video on how to set up the software. This was more to show that you can turn this printer into a sublimation printed by changing the ink.
My 2803 from target came filled with Epson ink already.
Really!? Well that wouldn't work if you were trying to put sublimation ink in.

Hi, I'm needing some help. I converted my epson printer and it printed out over 100 sublimation images. Now it says their is a paper jam. I've tried everything even called epson customer service they had me send them a picture and could tell I wasn't using the ink that came with the printer, couldn't help me. Dors anyone have ideas on what I can do I don't want to toss it. Thank you so much.
I feel your pain. After having this printer for some time now. I am definitely not happy with it. The colors are all wrong. Customer service is horrible. I get constant print errors. I'm about to toss mine.
Omg so did you lose all that ink from that first printer?… and if so you had to return it with the sublimation ink and didn’t that void any warranty?… so lesson I learned if I get one is turn on first make sure it actually works before I install the sublimation ink into it! Yes I lost all that ink but thankfully the craft supply place sold me another set at his cost. He is so awesome! I returned the printer to Amazon which is where I bought the printer from. They refunded me so I think I'm good. Oh and I'm

So i bought this same printer. I followed every instruction to convert it. From the very beginning i had issues. Not with the sub ink, but the printer. Kept saying paper jam, can not detect printer, or foreign object in printer. After three weeks of trying to solve the problem. I gave up and returned it. Went and bought an other one. Again followed instructions. Ran super smooth and brilliant colors. Then a corner of the paper jammed. It came out. Couldn't find any pieces missing, but now the printer says their is a piece remaining. Need to run paper through to clear it out. For 3 days I've been passing paper through and cardstock, but it continues to say to pass paper through to clear and there's no way to see any paper left in the machine. I tried to see with a flashlight, but I see no paper. Now i can't use it! Afraid to remove any panels and it says not to turn over because ink may come out. Epson support didn't help or contact me with the first printer when I reached out to them. How can I fix this or do i do another return and forget about sublimation?

No I put the ink in first and then I did the set up

I have Epson Et-2803, already put in Hiippo sublimation ink. I’m not very happy because I found after print out. It’s all not match colors from computer. I’m very disappointed!
So when you print, the colors are not the same as the image your printing?

You have to go to settings on some you tube it
You probably need to install an ICC profile. There are many youtube tutorials on how & why to do that. I believe Hiippo has them on their website. Good luck!

If you finished watching the video. I did! The first printer was broken. Not my fault!
I got this printer in Jan 2022. I only used it to practiced on it. I had to power it on and off just to cycle through here and there because I was not using it at the moment.( to nothing clogs by sitting) well It still prints noting, nothing , nothing. I am so mad. $200 plus printer $50 ink and this thing does nothing, blank everything. I can not figure the issue. I am guessing that the ink has clogged the tubes for sitting. I only put in a little sublimation ink in just case the printer didn't not work. Sorry this happened to you. July 2022 and its still crappy. Folks, do research before getting this printer and especially the type of sub inks. Mines wasn't even that rich and vivid.
