- A video guide on how to set up your driving wheel in Batocera or EmuELEC.
We explain which type of racing wheel is best suited, and shows the setup process to configure it for N64, PS1, PSP, MAME, FBNeo, Model 2, Model 3 and Atomiswave.
You can set up many options in the Retroarch menu, and also set up the controller by using the wheel itself. Both options have remapping capabilities, as well as methods of changing sensitivity. It may be best to check your wheel manual before you try to follow this guide.
This has been on our to-do list for a LONG time. Apologies for those that have been waiting. Was a bit of a minefield, and took a lot of trial and error.
We hope you can learn with us.

Excellent! Thanks
Nice!
You are the master!
By the way the powkiddy x28 has just come out that seems to be a portable beast, bring it 😜
Very useful.
Thanks. Probably not useful for most people, but for those with a wheel... Maybe? 🙂
Trying to source the same wheel but I also found a PS5 PS4 version of the HORI Racing Wheel Apex - anyone know if this works the same as this older PS3 PS4 one?
HI All great video, is their anything i can do with a logitech g920 as i already own one of them,
disabling the force feed back or something like that
We don't have one of those, but you could always try as it is. I think if you wanted to use Windows you could use teknoparrot, or even use the ffb plugin for MAME games. That may help.
Hi, sorry it didn't seem quite clear but are you using the pedals as well?
Yep
What software are you using to emulate generic gamepad for your wheel?...thanks in advance.
It's just a wheel controller hooked up to a machine running batocera.
During initial mapping batocera seeing my pedals as axis. Any way to remap to buttons instead? It's giving me weird results like stuck gas or on and off with each press as default. Is this because I initially mapped them to A and B buttons and they need to be on an axis such as a joystick (R2 L2?)
Depends on the game I guess. What are you trying to map your buttons to ? Which emulator / game ?
@@TeamPandory initial mapping in batocera. Configuring for the overall mapping for menus etc... First minute of video. I have everything mapped the same except my wheel maps axis to left joystick left right joystick right. Which works for steering in most games out of the box. The pedals I mapped to cross x, and circle, (A, B). Tried it on GameCube Simpsons road rage dolphin and rush 2049 in N64. Both games have pedal issues. Maybe I should try in-game mapping with hotkey and see if that fixes it. Note this is on a thrust master t150 wheel.
There's no control settings like that in my batocera.. what do I do ?
agree the problem of M.A.M.E its to complex for their own good, I once try to bind the controller with my Keyboard coz I don't have controller at the time and not yet buy new one, and its really not good option, as M.A.M.E use all keyboard key for whatever reason and if I try to bind for example W for up its not show what other command its bind for which result when I press W than Up it launch whatever command M.A.M.E pre-config it (don't remember what it is coz after that I never use M.A.M.E again)
The thing with MAME, is that it's all over the place. Later versions can have all the controls bindable in the retroarch menu, but rather than faff - just use final burn neo. Much easier.
@@TeamPandory agree winkawaks, Final Burn or Retroarch do good job to separate it and not use that many useless shortcut, and yes I still use my keyboard and yes I already have new controller but I get used with my keyboard now so I never bother hook up my controller unless the game required it like when I play Ape Escape or Racing game who use Analog stick.
@@bhirawamaylana466 Winkawaks... Not used that emulator in YEAARS 😲
i have a thrustmaster tmx and batocera did'nt recongnize it....somebody can help please :/:/
thank you
when I turn my wheel left it maps as axis 0- but the right then does not work, as if it sees the wheel as one button (using a trustmaster t80)
were you using the thrustmaster t80 with the playstation logo in the middle of the wheel or the version with the ferrari logo?
@@celebrategout1008 hey, one with the ferrari logo, thanks
Off subject but can't for the life of me get star wars trilogy going with hotas flights tick... Retrobat.... Help me! 🇬🇧🙏
HI.
I have seen that the Road Blaster game runs fine on Batocera, unfortunately this game doesn't want to run on my system (Batocera). Could you help me solve this problem? Thank you!
Will this work with the super console x?
It might. Depends on if emuelec is compatible with the wheel or not.
@@TeamPandory thank you sir!
and suddenly i find myself wanting to invest in one of those ps5/ps4 steering wheels. damn
Brummmmmbbyrrnmmmmmmm
Any tips on getting Logitech Driving Force GT to work? I already own one and can use it with Sega Model 2 stand-alone emulator, but when I try using it in the Batocera front end I can’t seem to get it configured on any emulator. Any assistance would be much appreciated. Thanks!
Better just using retrobat tbh. Using Linux / batocera will likely not support force feedback, that's why we made this guide focusing on this wheel in particular
If you set it up in bacteria, I suggest clean it off with Lysol or Chlorox first before playing. A clean gamer is a happy gamer! 😁 😝
Great point! XD
sorry, i read tgis title as set up your driving wheel in bacteria :D
probably pretty easy judging a lot of gamers hygine levels :P
actually, can you set it up in teknoparrot as well?
@@Larry Teknoparrot is pretty easy to set up in comparison- with the sheer amount of emulators from within Bacteria, it adds to a lot of pain. Are you setting something up?
@@TeamPandory just curious really, ive been using an xbox controller normally
@@Larry Yeah, so each game has it's own configuration screen from within Teknoparrot. It's basic control configuration stuff that gets set up before the game is even loaded.
