nr. 9 is important. made this mistake myself at first. stop messing with stuff too much. if it's not clipping then your FFB settings are fine. "you actually need to practice yourself" i approve, because you can watch tutorials, and after one tutorial you practice a lil' bit, and then go to the next, practice, and it goes on until you get good

I've sold my G29, but one thing I can tell you, if you can drift on the G29, you can probably drift on any other wheel. Sure the weel didn't spin fast enough so, I needed to help the wheel a bit, or maby better throttle control, all those are things that helped me despite using a G29. If you got a G29, it is indeed possible to drift, just harder, that said, if you got the budget to the G29, save up a bit more and go to the T300RS GT (Gotta be the GT version to better pedals)
You used to be able to get into a real car to make into a drift middle for the amount that you have to pay for these setups. with enthusiast cars getting so expensive though, this actually doesn’t seem like a bad way to get started until you can get into a car, but nothing beats the real thing feeling the weight of the car, suspension travel, and the exhaust when you plant your foot down
as someone who has a g920 i can say that is enough for someone who wants to have fun, i couldnt save more for some personal reasons so i bought the g920 and the logitech shifter, made a diy handbrake from a ps3 controller and a wooden sim rig with a seat from an old alfa romeo and i can say that its not the perfect set up and yes the wheel isnt the most simulation one but its a lot of fun ,its still a good simulation and the whole thing cost me less than a Thrustmaster T150 RS Pro or any of the "cheap" thrustmaster wheels and as u said ,games are for fun and the g920 is enough for this ,if someone can save more tho and want to have a more realistic experience try to go for a better wheel Love ur vids goose
I recently bought CarX for my PS5 and before I did what every noob does which is play the game "blind" I asked a few of my online friends for tips and help which significantly improved my gameplay by a lot.
I have the g29 and the motor needs some help indeed. I call it "throwing" the wheel into the drift because the motor is too slow to react to the car. You notice that when you drive a car there is some feedback and sometimes you feel it really lightly. The lightly moment is when the wheel can't catch up with the car in game. There is the moment when you throw it into the direction to get control back.
I def agree with your all's point with the logitech wheels. I've been using the G920 base for a few years now and I can comfortably say that you will spend so many more pain staking hours learning to drift on a wheel with that much "give". Save up that extra money and get ANYTHING other than a gear drive base. I had to take the extra time to get used to throwing the wheel the other way when transitioning because the motor just isn't responsive enough for drifting.
I started out with a G27, thought it was a good wheel until I got my T300RS, once you go belt driven you'll never go back to gear driven, I'm sure it's the same for direct drive, but honestly a quality belt drive like the T300 will be good enough for most
drifting etiquette dosnt always mean spawn back too pits if your gonna mess up sometimes that’s the fun of drifting and keeping it “real” spinning out and bumps are normal in the drifting scene so if you are gonna mess someone up just try too bump or spin yourself it’s not a huge problem if the train gets messed up for a run just keep practicing you’ll never get good if you just spawn into the pits thinking your gonna mess something up or someone up and your gonna have anxiety form that situation not to mention. drifting etiquette does not involve what you said hardly it’s usually about not being the rammer of the lobby or trolling around being a child when your tryna drift and learn
I bought a G27, yes it is clunky and loud, I am happy with drifting on it tbh, it fits my needs, bought it for cheap. I feel like I have no need to upgrade soon. I am in just for the fun.
I'd really suggest upgrading soon. Not because drifting sucks on a G27, but the throwing you have to do to make some transitions work puts a lot of stress on the components. I'm guessing it you bought it used too so I wouldnt be surprised if it breaks fairly soon. In the long run, you'll probably safe more buying a decent wheel from the start. Speaking from experience.
Best advice I can give that helped me was: stop trying to force a reaction from the car, ease into a slide and try to extend and if you need to correct it!
I started drifting in 2002 when Life for Speed came out and it's more than 20 years.... and after those 20 years I don't need any special setup, just tune front and back toe on the wheels and the tire pressure and that's all. Everything what you need is a good steering wheel and a lot of practice.
I got a tmx pro used today for $200, just need the shifter and handbreak! Tonight I played AC for a while and was able to hold a decent drifts (more by accident then anything) but I finished better than I started and I'm feeling great :)
I bought my first sim rig a few days ago :) (thrustmaster tmx pro) This video couldnt have come at a better time. I would classify my self as very experienced with controller racing games. The wheel I feel like a blind cat trying to catch a mouse.
@@Goosiest no problem maybe we can colab sometime. I'm also a RUclipsr just started though. Love the vids don't listen to any of the haters or people that say that you aren't good at what you do
I had Ardor gaming Silverstone for less than 200 bucks with a ffb 900 degrees and stuf. Worked pretty fine, the only bad thing was low ffb power. Now I'm on moza r5 and it's completely different thing but hey, as you saing always: you have to start somewere! There is some exxxtra budget options, better than nothing
My best piece of advice is spend on quality setup. Don't go cheap. Not talking ridiculously expensive, but don't go for the bottom of the market, save up for the better stuff: belt driven, or preferably a direct drive given how cheap they can be now. As for the actual sim drifting itself, the best piece of advice I could've given myself is pay attention to your drifting line when drifting roads, especially touges. The drifting line is basically the same as a racing line; you just give yourself as MUCH room as possible on each part of the road so you don't end up clipping the sides. This might be the one thing that doesn't just come down to muscle memory - everything else, from throttle control to clutch to left foot braking can't really be taught. You just have to learn how to do it yourself. But the drifting line is something you can remember and pay attention to and it'll immediately make you better. Same goes for getting the right camera setup for your drifting. Assetto's default cameras are horrible. Especially chase. Don't be afraid to download whatever camera makes you feel most comfortable. Coming from Forza, my drifting in AC improved instantly, and I mean INSTANTLY, as soon as I changed the default camera to the kind of camera I had in Forza.
In fact, I even joined a drift league in FR Legends called FR Legends Drift Championship, there are many pro players joining in that league including the best FR Legends players. And we didn't get a good score in just 1 try, of course we need to practice more and FR Legends physics is just maybe easy and way too easy to get a good score but using some tricks and maintaining angles, we get a good score by practicing.
u can mess with the settings in the beginning i started sim drifting a mount ago and as soon as i got my wheel i make my settings and they are good and improved me a lot the default are fine but the custom are better and about the community i asked some guys in carx about ac and he answer me with some tips that helped me a lot so dont be afraid to ask something just ask. and if u are a new sim drifter and u cant drift just watch some videos about the cars in ac and setting and tracks there are so many stuff that can help u so just dont give up and sell the wheel instead tru get better and practice a lot.
I love to play carx with controller now I'm going to wheel drive with t300rs I love your videos and have long time to learn how to drift in wheel but let's go practice
I personally use a g920 for the time being but it works just fine for me on live for speed. I built my own Sim rig from wood and used the stock seat from my summer car when I put aftermarket seats in it. I don't have a dedicated handbrake yet so I have to use the left paddle shifter for the handbrake.
as another guy in the comments i have it the same. i had no ffb wheel for like 2 years and then i bought some gear driven one like 3 weeks ago, and its compared to non ffb so good, so yes for starters that really dont know if wheel is or not good for them, the gear driven will be enough
I think I agree with all of them except for the first one #1. Either on a desk or full blown rig... With the right amount of "seat time" (#8 :D) you can be better than 90% of sim drifters! Look at some people that went TOP32 in DMVC rounds / people that drive DCGP, VDC, etc. + Watch out! Not all sim rigs have a designated spot for a handbrake. Most have a spot to mount a shifter but need extra brackets/mounting hardware for an e-brake. Not all handbrakes come with mounting hardware for sim rigs.
if you have the space I'd suggest just building a rig out of 2x4's. just get a used or cheap car seat (I just ordered a brand new off-brand racing seat for like 90 euro and like 50 euro in timber/hardware) I have like 2 left hands and practically no tools and I managed. XD like you mention it won't make you a better drifter but it does a ton for comfort and immersion. (I line up the wheel in VR and the shifter and handbrake are in the proper position and it just feels like I'm in the car, couldn't really get that feeling sitting behind my desk)
@@zwenkwiel816 I'm at my desk still haha after all these years LOL Yeah upgrading doesn't hurt, i'm just saying you drive the best on whatever it is you're used to.

Love the vids keep up the good work hope you have a beautiful day best sim drifter on youtube
Thanks 👍
@@Goosiest no problem maybe we can colab sometime. I'm also a RUclipsr just started though. Love the vids don't listen to any of the haters or people that say that you aren't good at what you do
Got a g29 for Christmas, I learnt to drift after a month but it’s worth all the time spent
Fire vid as always and im very sorry for being 4 minutes late😢
keep going like that and you will got the million subs, PEACE!!
goose, we want you to do real life drifting at 1M followers !
That Rx-7 looks really good with the BN Kit 😍
fire vid as always goose
Wheel is important but I argue that pedals are the most important part of the rig
You replied to my friend and he was happy keep up the good work btw
Thank you for the classes :D
u can mess with the settings in the beginning i started sim drifting a mount ago and as soon as i got my wheel i make my settings and they are good and improved me a lot the default are fine but the custom are better and about the community i asked some guys in carx about ac and he answer me with some tips that helped me a lot so dont be afraid to ask something just ask.
and if u are a new sim drifter and u cant drift just watch some videos about the cars in ac and setting and tracks there are so many stuff that can help u so just dont give up and sell the wheel instead tru get better and practice a lot.
i have g29 its great wheel, but also i can 100% agree that belt engine or dd wheels are 100 times better.

I love to play carx with controller now I'm going to wheel drive with t300rs I love your videos and have long time to learn how to drift in wheel but let's go practice
Great video👌
I personally use a g920 for the time being but it works just fine for me on live for speed. I built my own Sim rig from wood and used the stock seat from my summer car when I put aftermarket seats in it. I don't have a dedicated handbrake yet so I have to use the left paddle shifter for the handbrake.
big fat moza wheel, yes yes. very clean.
so i just cant keep drifting but i love watching it. im pretty good with rally but i sucked onroad but now im getting better starting to get faster
these tips actually helpful:D
as another guy in the comments i have it the same. i had no ffb wheel for like 2 years and then i bought some gear driven one like 3 weeks ago, and its compared to non ffb so good, so yes for starters that really dont know if wheel is or not good for them, the gear driven will be enough
Hey! That's me in the dark green soarer😊 Love to be in the vid😊😀
This video is perfect for me as I am getting a sim setup very soon. I will indeed stay sideways.
I watch these videos in school when I have free time
Man i wish i had longer hands and 5 fingers. Also i have more than 500 cash in my and im 12 XD. Love your vids man, keep up the work.
I got mad lucky with my wheel setup on marketplace (tx base, 599 wheel add on, th8a, tclm pedals, and stand for $300 usd) all parts were 2 months old
I think I agree with all of them except for the first one #1.
Not all handbrakes come with mounting hardware for sim rigs.
if you have the space I'd suggest just building a rig out of 2x4's. just get a used or cheap car seat (I just ordered a brand new off-brand racing seat for like 90 euro and like 50 euro in timber/hardware)
I have like 2 left hands and practically no tools and I managed. XD
like you mention it won't make you a better drifter but it does a ton for comfort and immersion. (I line up the wheel in VR and the shifter and handbrake are in the proper position and it just feels like I'm in the car, couldn't really get that feeling sitting behind my desk)
@@zwenkwiel816 I'm at my desk still haha after all these years LOL
Yeah upgrading doesn't hurt, i'm just saying you drive the best on whatever it is you're used to.
bob is back les gooo
Yeah these tips really made me a better sim driver.....
Bob's back yay
Also am getting close to a good chair
Also goose is a t128 good for drifting
Thanks goose I learnt a lot from that thank you
Thanks for the tips!
6:14 on logitech g29 i would recommend to get the rattling off if you like to drift
Same with the Logitech. Honestly settings make a difference. Moza is definitely the way to go but with some crisp settings you’re chillin.
