Batocera v39 has been released with a few changes. The primary change people should be aware of is the format and location change of the ps2 bios within batocera linux. Follow along this, hopefully, easy to understand tutorial!
I'm new to this tutorial style and found out about the bios differences when the basee video was nearly finished. Please forgive some of the rough edges due to this last minute discovery!

Updated to version 39 on my linux system. Totally ruined everything - No games will start now. Is there some place I can go to get help on this? I would pay for someone to fix it. All I am doing is going down rabbit holes of things I do not understand. Extremely frustrated

Hey there! i just installed the V39 on my old HP Laptop and it bricked where i cannot boot into Batocera anymore. how can i rollback to V38
Im not very good with linux and dont understand a hell of a lot with it. When i look at the wiki for upgrade/downgrade_manually i really dont understand it.
This is coming from someone with limited experience myself. If you just did a fresh install of 40 and are trying to get that set up. I'd probably just wipe the drive and do a fresh install of v39. I wasn't aware there is a v40 out already, but I'll look into that soon.
@@RawTactics1 sorry that was a typo V39 and i had V38. I was hoping id be able to do something with the drive to boot it back and copy my game saves :(
@@SuperKnuckels I'm sorry but that one's a bit out of my current skill set 🙁. My main piece of advice when doing anything like this on pc or with console modding, always always always have atleast 1 backup of your games saved on a different drive. I have a home server and external drives specially for it
Hello many thanks for the video. I have a similar scenario with a mini PC and in windows I can play ps2 and other things very well x3 resolution. In batocera 39 I don’t know why I’m not able to play the native resolution because of lags. I’m using a pen drive could be the problem? Also I tried some settings I really can’t understand why. Thanks in advance for any feedback!
Are you certain all bios packs are in the correct location? If it works in windows, but not in batocera it would either be a bios issues or someone with windows vs Linux. I'm not entirely sure where to point you other than that 😕

@@RawTactics1 when I think I put two games too much. Haha. Used my space up on my sd card. Then I think no space to boot. Had to reformat and do the sd card over again.
Mine stop working after update can get to work again
Sorry I missed this comment, I'm not sure about the update process currently as I started this build from scratch. Maybe that's soemthing I can look into in the future.

I'm sorry, what download are you referring to exactly? At the time I recorded and this video went up nothing was requiring any payments.
