It is an absolute disgrace how this ever became a finished product. Recently, I did my due diligence and finally played thru andromeda at a whopping 38% completion! I could have liked it and appreciated what the game was trying to accomplish, but they absolutely ruined the gameplay mechanics and I certainly hope the correct people read these types of comments whenever/if ever the next Mass Effect installment comes out so as to not irrevocably F*** that one up so badly it becomes more a pain in the @$$ than an actual enjoyment to play!
It still has. The first game wasn't what we all anticipated and as good as we had hoped, but it can be redeemed. Give it a 2nd entry, and it could be the fist wobly step to a new amazing trilogy.
The Milky Way had even more potential, especially after the events and characters of the first 3 games. There absolutely NO reason to leave our home galaxy

@@two2truthsthis meant to be a spin off. They do it all the time with other sci-fi franchises. It's basically the Stargate Atlantis of the Mass Effect universe. They will continue the main story eventually, it doesn't replace it. Probably the main motivation to create a game like this was to introduce new gamers into the ME universe without the need to play the first 3 games (it took me 130+ hours with Legandary Edition recently). It could have been as good as the original with no strings attached, giving writers some space to experiment with new races and technology. The bigger issue with this game is that you don't really care about the characters and the lore. In ME1 you were hooked from the start.

I'm 50 years old and stayed up until 230 in the morning to finish watching this. Now, that's kind of pathetic. You would think that I had no life. Not so much. A retired millionaire. And...a retired gamer. Incredible story line. Well done. I will sleep in, and my wife thinks I've lost my mind, my lab is looking at me like I have as well, and my sons can not even get me to play with the thousands of dollars worth of shit that I buy for them. This game's story line had me. Incredible. I normally deal with geopolitical issues, and the financial markets. This was very refreshing, and reminded me what it is just to imagine. Thank you for that.
God, this game had such a strong opening. I got blue balled about halfway through the game when I played it and I can’t stomach looking at the animations, but just purely listening to the audio, especially in the beginning, Andromeda begins very powerfully. The voice acting, writing for the scenes and dialogue, soundtrack, and sound design are all very well done. I get goosebumps. Andromeda isn’t a bad game on the whole, in my opinion. It just has some glaring flaws. Some aspects of the game are extremely good, some are extremely bad. That averages out to just an “okay” game.

Also, the controls are kinda jank and the car is fiddly. It also feels like I didn't even make any choices the whole time, and so it felt less impactful by the end. Overall, not the best.
Glad I could watch it on RUclips instead of actually playing it. The story and the characters feel lackluster. I do understand the developers tried to give a game exploration vibe like 1 Mass effect had and expand with more resources grinding, but I hope a newer game will be much more interesting. If Liam is the Security Specialist former Cop who served in the Crisis Response Unit( SWAT EMA) then why his analytical skills lacking his situational awareness lacking (basically not at the level an experienced LEO/Tactical Operator should have as their foundation?! Just wondering and why isn't he in a hard suit (full body) he seems like comic relief sort of, in reality he should be on point with all things related to Crisis Situations period and not just some guy on the team. They kinda did that to Jacob Taylor as well ,a former Alliance Marine and Corsair who is a Biotic and he is only good for working in the Armory?! Thane an assassin.... never mind I could go on and on,lol
I loved it, totally enjoyable, fantastic. Don't know if you younger people noticed. But when bad guy morphs into the giant snake 🐍 Boss creature, his head with the 4 way jaw thing was a total ripoff/homage to the original Alien movie with Sigourney Weaver, I mean exactly, it made the ending hysterical. Oh my god wtf is this writing lol. I tried to play through this game years ago but stopped because I was bored. Wanted to see how it ended. I feel like the writing was pretty okay until around 1:17:00 and then I kept saying WTF is going on. Like who approved these lines lol. OG Mass Effect trilogy had a tone that was pretty serious with some comedic relief to balance it out (Joker, conversations with characters on Normandy, and occasional party banter. Not when conflict is DIRECTLY happening). This feels like a comedy game with the only character grounded in reality (Ryder's father) dying in the first 30 minutes of the game. It's very hard to take this game seriously when it doesn't take itself seriously. It's fine if that's the tone they were going for, but it feels jarring for it to go from "humanity and all of us are gonna die if you don't do this right" to "haha should I take my shoes off?" I think it'd be fine to have a comedic mass effect game (I mean come on the Citadel DLC was so good) if it wasn't trying to also be serious/dark at the same time. The game just doesn't hold that emotional/narrative weight seriously, it just all feels like one big joke.The OG trilogy had a much better balance than this, with more memorable characters. Such a shame, it really shows Bioware's talented writers either left or weren't put on this game :/

@@two2truths The biggest shame is that so many people piled on to the launch problems of the game and soured the experience for most. ME:A had a rough launch. Many hardcore fans were unable to let go of the Shephard story line. Others got hung up on visual/animation bugs. And the game itself was unpolished, partly due to time constraints, but also because EA forced Bioware to use a new (to them) game engine during development. ME:A was never actually that bad. And after the launch troubles were ironed out, it is still a fun experience that is well worth playing.

If EA had made a spin-off or other interesting story related to the million characters and sub-plots in the first 3 ME games, they may have even weathered a stormy launch much better since fans would've at least have been more content with something familiar, or relatable, to the formula that worked so beautifully with the first 3. Same here, mine game got irreversibly glitched, evern clean install didnt helped, my hud was somehow moved beyond the screen boundaries and most saves got corrupt and were loading indefinitely. I was so pissed, but the overall ending and the game itself was weaker story wise. I still remember how hyped for the game i was, i bought the game on pre order and i was at work when i remotely initiated the download, so the game is ready when i get home....After this i swore this was the last game i preordered

Some people just want to look at the negative points and this short-sightedness made this game sink and no DLC got to be released... I really wanted to play the Quarian ark mission. Such a shame.
This game suffered from what so many games in the last 5 years have suffered from, bad management. What we got was thrown together in about 18 months. Pretty impressive considering that.

Jim Ang true but look at the first mass effect, the graphics don’t hold up after time but nobody makes a fuss. everyone complains about the graphics but that’s only one small element in game making. I was really intrigued in the story, and in terms of gameplay, for the most part it was smooth. sure they basically re-used mechanics but for the amount of development time this game actually had, which was little more then a year and a half, they did a really good job. it’s such a shame BioWare montreal won’t get another chance to fix their mistake, and that is entirely on their so called “fans”
They hate it because instead of Bioware making a polished game, that couldve had a much more interesting story connected to the countless and amazing stories introduced in the first trilogy, EA forced them to make this dog shit of a game, betting on the love of the fans for the first 3 games, all while laughing on their way to the bank.

Very true mate. Andromeda is my fav then me2. The trilogy had 3 games to Polish its story and character development over multiple years of tuning. What we have in Andromeda is a new galaxy, a clean pallette, no reaper focus, new villains, new races and planets, actually explorable areas with fluid movement and combat. Its great, so sad people bandwagon hated the game cos it was the cool thing at the time. I also love the tempest and the crew feels more intractable. We were teased dlc at the end with the quarians but sadly the devs obviously were crushed by the criticism.

But the story is not at all even close to a bad one, in my opinion. It's a very good story with very different characters from the trilogy characters. Granted the voice acting could have been better, but still not the worst I've ever heard tbh. I just dont get the mass hate for the game. I get the disappointment with how unpolished it was at launch. But the hate is very unwarranted, in my opinion.

Actually you will. Mass Effect 5 is confirmed to take place in both galaxies. It will continue after the events of the trilogy in the milky way, but somehow connect to Andromeda.
I purchased a copy about 4 months ago. The animation and graphics were great. The main story isn't comparable to the original mass effect storyline of Shepard, but it is ok as a stand-alone parallel.
Trilogy had 3 games over several years to Polish and devolop its characters and story chief. Andromeda gave us all new races and enjoyable combat and exploration. Definitely didn't deserve the hate. My only issue is Nolan norths voice for scott

Playing the game today and i must say, even with all the fixes, eyes, mouth, hands, fingers, legs .. they havent fixed much. Still so much broken stuff from past. One of the reason why i stopped playing and watching this movie now :)
We have a CGI cast. No actors. But, Are they playing real people, androids, artificial humans, robots or cyborgs? Artificial humans, or some future construct? A One would think that an advanced race if humanity exploring an exoplanet 600years away, that a small skeleton crew would be awoken prior to the rest of the crew. Once a secure area for landing or didembarcaton was secured, a survey team would be sent. First action wove to kill anything deemed hostile. That means everything. After the planet is destroyed and radioactive, we'd start strip mining and polluting. They would phone home to a dead Earth. Next, rape the land, strip mine everythingpollute and overpopulate the planet, fight wars over land, resources and reliant abandon it for another utopia. Tepeat.
Again - have it recut for ise as a movie by the original creator and they could charge money for it. Graphics are incredibly, watching the gameplay, not so interesting. Let's do a "the expanse " game after the end of the season. Perfect time for space pirates.
I like this, a lot of work gone into it. One thing, on the first planet with all the lighting he said the first alien race we come upon we shoot them, then when they get to the space station or what ever they called it there are four or five aliens on it, did I miss Something. I'm only an hour into it but enjoy it so far.
Those were not aliens, they were races from the Milky Way, Asari, Krogan, Turians, Salarians and so on, introduced in the Mass Effect trilogy. The Kett were the first race from Andromeda they encountered.

Oh my god wtf is this writing lol. I tried to play through this game years ago but stopped because I was bored. Wanted to see how it ended. I feel like the writing was pretty okay until around 1:17:00 and then I kept saying WTF is going on. Like who approved these lines lol. OG Mass Effect trilogy had a tone that was pretty serious with some comedic relief to balance it out (Joker, conversations with characters on Normandy, and occasional party banter. Not when conflict is DIRECTLY happening). This feels like a comedy game with the only character grounded in reality (Ryder's father) dying in the first 30 minutes of the game. It's very hard to take this game seriously when it doesn't take itself seriously. It's fine if that's the tone they were going for, but it feels jarring for it to go from "humanity and all of us are gonna die if you don't do this right" to "haha should I take my shoes off?" I think it'd be fine to have a comedic mass effect game (I mean come on the Citadel DLC was so good) if it wasn't trying to also be serious/dark at the same time. The game just doesn't hold that emotional/narrative weight seriously, it just all feels like one big joke.The OG trilogy had a much better balance than this, with more memorable characters. Such a shame, it really shows Bioware's talented writers either left or weren't put on this game :/

Yes, the editing to make this video was good. Too bad Bioware made an absolute GARBAGE of a game though. Ruined the ME franchise. Zero reason to leave the Milky Way, to abandon the countless stories they couldve gone with from any or the first 3 games. Instead deciding to make this dumpster fire of an unrelated experience in the Andromeda Galaxy... 🙄 poor choice EA.... poor choice
@@two2truths The biggest shame is that so many people piled on to the launch problems of the game and soured the experience for most.
ME:A had a rough launch. Many hardcore fans were unable to let go of the Shephard story line. Others got hung up on visual/animation bugs. And the game itself was unpolished, partly due to time constraints, but also because EA forced Bioware to use a new (to them) game engine during development.
ME:A was never actually that bad. And after the launch troubles were ironed out, it is still a fun experience that is well worth playing.

If EA had made a spin-off or other interesting story related to the million characters and sub-plots in the first 3 ME games, they may have even weathered a stormy launch much better since fans would've at least have been more content with something familiar, or relatable, to the formula that worked so beautifully with the first 3. Sorry but its just silly... EA wasted many many resources on a title that just didnt have to be made, and wasnt appreciated or well planned, executed, thought out, nothing.

Same here, mine game got irreversibly glitched, evern clean install didnt helped, my hud was somehow moved beyond the screen boundaries and most saves got corrupt and were loading indefinitely. I was so pissed, but the overall ending and the game itself was weaker story wise. I still remember how hyped for the game i was, i bought the game on pre order and i was at work when i remotely initiated the download, so the game is ready when i get home....After this i swore this was the last game i preordered

Thanks for the effort. I've subscribed. I do not understand all the hate, I found the game enjoyable and it had some brilliant moments. Some people just want to look at the negative points and this short-sightedness made this game sink and no DLC got to be released... I really wanted to play the Quarian ark mission. Such a shame.
This game suffered from what so many games in the last 5 years have suffered from, bad management. What we got was thrown together in about 18 months. Pretty impressive considering that.

It's a real shame this game garnered so much flak. There was so much potential to build up on from the conclusion and beyond. Like, what did the Geth see there so long ago that made them interested.

Jim Ang true but look at the first mass effect, the graphics don’t hold up after time but nobody makes a fuss. everyone complains about the graphics but that’s only one small element in game making. I was really intrigued in the story, and in terms of gameplay, for the most part it was smooth. sure they basically re-used mechanics but for the amount of development time this game actually had, which was little more then a year and a half, they did a really good job. it’s such a shame BioWare montreal won’t get another chance to fix their mistake, and that is entirely on their so called “fans”
The open world's were trash.
They hate it because instead of Bioware making a polished game, that couldve had a much more interesting story connected to the countless and amazing stories introduced in the first trilogy, EA forced them to make this dog shit of a game, betting on the love of the fans for the first 3 games, all while laughing on their way to the bank.

I suspect that the stories of M.E.4 and M.E. Andromeda 2.0 will be combined. Hopefully with the graphics quality of M.E.3 and NOT the graphics "quality" of M.E. Andromeda 1.
I love this game. I love Mass Effect in general. The only disappointment is that we likely won't see a true sequel/trilogy from what was started here.

The trilogy had 3 games to Polish its story and character development over multiple years of tuning.
What we have in Andromeda is a new galaxy, a clean pallette, no reaper focus, new villains, new races and planets, actually explorable areas with fluid movement and combat. Its great, so sad people bandwagon hated the game cos it was the cool thing at the time. I also love the tempest and the crew feels more intractable.
We were teased dlc at the end with the quarians but sadly the devs obviously were crushed by the criticism.
loved the game but much of the criticism was warranted. What's sad is how EA pulled people off this to work on an even bigger trainwreck.
@@jameslay1489 EA pulled thr plug on Andromeda because of how it was commercially received. I understand that it had a lot of major issues at launch with bugs and glitches. But the story is not at all even close to a bad one, in my opinion. It's a very good story with very different characters from the trilogy characters. Granted the voice acting could have been better, but still not the worst I've ever heard tbh. I just dont get the mass hate for the game. I get the disappointment with how unpolished it was at launch. But the hate is very unwarranted, in my opinion.
@@Hsf-vz2ol I didn't say anything about the story, I thought it was okay. EA was pulling people of Andromeda to work on Anthem while Andromeda was in development, that's one of the reasons why it had issues. I agree about all the hate, there were worse games that came out in bad condition.
Actually you will. Mass Effect 5 is confirmed to take place in both galaxies. It will continue after the events of the trilogy in the milky way, but somehow connect to Andromeda.
I purchased a copy about 4 months ago. The animation and graphics were great. The main story isn't comparable to the original mass effect storyline of Shepard, but it is ok as a stand-alone parallel.
Trilogy had 3 games over several years to Polish and devolop its characters and story chief. Andromeda gave us all new races and enjoyable combat and exploration.
Definitely didn't deserve the hate. My only issue is Nolan norths voice for scott
This should have more views, it's the best quality game movie since the game came out. Im curious, did you mod this at all? The textures and animations look far better than what I remember from playing Andromeda when it first came out.

What if you needed to do it three times, well then all the primitive civilizations out there would have caught up with u. That sucks. Why don't u create a ship that works on magic, u know, instantanious here and there.
I'm not gonna knock this game just for the sake of doing so but this game could've been something great. So much potential that's waisted now, they should've just dicthed the open world and stuck to a linear story knowing the game was gonna come out a mess.

One would think that an advanced race if humanity exploring an exoplanet 600years away, that a small skeleton crew would be awoken prior to the rest of the crew. Once a secure area for landing or didembarcaton was secured, a survey team would be sent.
First action wove to kill anything deemed hostile. That means everything. After the planet is destroyed and radioactive, we'd start strip mining and polluting. They would phone home to a dead Earth.
Next, rape the land, strip mine everythingpollute and overpopulate the planet, fight wars over land, resources and reliant abandon it for another utopia.
Tepeat.

Something. I'm only an hour into it but enjoy it so far.
Those were not aliens, they were races from the Milky Way, Asari, Krogan, Turians, Salarians and so on, introduced in the Mass Effect trilogy. The Kett were the first race from Andromeda they encountered.
