Thanks, it’s pretty hard to improve the perfection that is the opening of ME2. However I felt I had to change it for the movie approach I was going with. It’s still my favourite game of all time.
@@MythicMarty The eventual lack of lore in the ME Trilogy around the Lazarus Project, makes your opening more believable. Since your cut doesn't dwell on how deader than dead Shep was. :p
yeah i always made sure everyone survived, too many story elements would go missing otherwise. also didn't i get all those guys together and let them die ... nah i can't
Can you imagine how Shepard must have felt when The Normandy got destroyed and he drifts in space... Falling towards the planet, with the oxygen leaking out... But the Collectors got fucked in the end. I remember one playthrough that I did just so that everyone would die, and I did it right after doing a 100% completion right before, so it hit me quite hard
Yep, like after the second or third time you really shouldnt be losing more than a person or 2 at most and really, its not hard to save everyone if you do the upgrades and loyalty missions.
Wow that was pretty emotional. I remember playing through the first time and preserving as many people as I could (I think everyone lived that could?). Watching them all die one by one was pretty tough. Great job on this though !!
Hahaha damn this Shep is wild "jacob, you go do the hacking. Mordin, you're running head of the second fireteam" "... you wot m8?" "Well I had planned for Joker to do it but he's sick or something idk"
Spoilers : While everyone is pissy about Shepard dying at the end of this movie, I actually fucking adore it, because it actually gives meaning and weight to the suicide mission. Everyone agreed on the mission knowing it would probably be their last one, and it was. It was never about surviving through it, it was about doing what's right no matter the cost, and they were ready to pay the cost with their lives. I also totally agree that it's a better ending than Mass Effect 3. To be honest, the story ending here is far more intriguing than going on with another sequel that's just not that great. Mass Effect 3 has *some* good moments but a lot of it is... not *great*. So bravo on the decision. As to everyone else who's irritated by it, not every ending must end like you want to.
I really feel for Joker when you dont do the upgrades. Guy is THE best pilot in the galaxy, easily, but you as a commander keep leaning on it harder and harder until it gets impossible for him to 100% get everything done and people start dying regardless of his skill. After watching the crew get abducted and losing the first Normandy, the guy has taken way too many gut punches that werent at all his fault and just keeps being the absolute lynchpin of the team
And Wrex if he survives ME1, plus EDI. Could have had Thane’s son join the team looking for revenge on the Reapers for his father’s death. And I always thought that if they brought Shepard back to life, they could give Joker a suit or some enhancements so that he could actually fight. Thought it would be powerful for him to take up the cause with Shepard’s sacrifice driving him. Could have even had Anderson join the team or lead it too.
My only observation seeing this to the end, is it seems the crew of the Normandy are highly "undergunned" compared to the Seekers and other foes they come across. For the most part having only standard automatic weapons, and pistols? When things like drones, grenade launchers, and some futuristic bad-ass weapons would be available in the future - as we have some of them today. I'm not even seeing a multi-barrel gatling gun or laser gun. If it's one thing humans seem to do quite well, is make very good, devastating weapons of destruction. I think this was something missed in creating this game. Otherwise the story and overall game is very good.
Awesome editing work! I could deal with most squad mates kicking it, but Legion Grunt and Garrus dying... you monster lol. Do you plan on ME3? Maybe use Femshep, pretending it's a different character captaining the Normandy. Use remaining squadmates (Liara, James, Edi etc.)
I didn’t have it in me to do Mass Effect 3 and this ending in 2 always struck me as something I wish BioWare could have supported in Mass Effect 3. It set Joker up for some heroic part. Imagine Liara, Wrex, Ashley/Kaiden dealing with Shepards death and the incoming Reaper threat. It just seemed interesting to me.
Wow, you're getting good at this. Nice combo of dialogue and gameplay. Good to see a bit of action! Thanks for this.
@Wells Maison fuck you

Great job. Mass Effect really was an achievement in the gaming world, setting a new standard.
Wow, the way you've stitched shepard's opening moments is really cinematic. :D

I cant stand going into ME3 and seeing the ugly replacement characters, just existing to taunt you that you failed the real characters

I sure hope you are working on #3!
Wow. Played that one plenty of times and never lost Shepard or even half the team.
Skip all loyalty missions/ship upgrades and make bad decisions and you'll get the bad ending.

Thanks buddy! Yeah the Suicide mission is an incredible price of game design. I wish I could experience it fresh again.
Now this is a coincidence. I discovered the first ME Movie now
I never let my entire squad die... but damn does it make an epic Suicide Mission.
Same. I just did this for the drama
Hahaha damn this Shep is wild

The Mass Effect trilogy would be a worthy successor to StarWars... If they made a movie or show out of it.
They would make it like andromeda

I've just realized that the actress speaking here ruclips.net/video/jwTT9nxlQ1k/видео.html is, in fact, Chrisjen Avasarala from The Expanse!
When you think you have episode 3 or should I say Mass Effect 3?
I gotta play these games!
Thank you great work
Good lord could you not do ANY loyalty missions or upgrade the ship?
Two reasons; Drama and Time.

Damn, how'd Joker lift that beam by himself with his brittle bones disease?
Im hoping for the 3rd one you choose the Synthesis (Green) ending so EDI survives with Joker
I wonder how ME3 would be without any crew to assemble after everyone dead in ME2 directors cut.. looks like you’ll only have Ashely and Liara
And Wrex if he survives ME1, plus EDI. Could have had Thane’s son join the team looking for revenge on the Reapers for his father’s death. any chance of mass effredct 3 movie?
Hey, where's the third movie?
I want my third movie!
This is actually a great ending and it’s one of thos that shouldn’t be continued

Garrus and Legion hits too hard, horrible person....
Please no femshep for me though, Shepard is this Shepard for me.

I spat my water out when i heard this
Wut?
Is there any chance for the 3rd Game? aswell as Andromeda ?
Why isn’t the awesome beginning there
Wait... If he dies, how is he alive in Mass Effect 3? Is the galaxy doomed now?
why did you have Shepard die
It’s a better ending than Mass Effect 3...
@@MythicMarty I have no problem with Shepards fate in number 3
@@MythicMartyah so you're one of those people.
This is not even 50% of the story. Hahaha! Great edit.
Epic! Thank you
Garrus the best.
The video is good, but regrettably you went as boring Sheppard, not hanging up on the counsel, not bringing active geth to the active geth trial...
How about an Anti-Biotic field?? Huh?? Lol
WHERE IS MASS EFFECT 3!!!!!
I am thankful for the MovieCut, but you seriously let everybody die, wtf!
It’s more dramatic ;)
@@MythicMarty its bad hmmkay
This really sucked! You had everyone die at the end.
That’s why it’s called a “Director’s Cut”
@@MythicMarty Yeah I know but still
BAD DECISIONS, ONE AFTER THE OTHER... NOT GOOD LOL I DID ENJOY THE MOVIE THOUGH
It was all good until that ending. Dude seriously why?
