This made me cry!!! A first born, worked myself to the bone, I am drowning in depression in the USA, I feel drained and exhausted. I have sent millions home but it never stops. It’s never enough. I am in prison in my own life.
❤Please remember to be kind to yourself and it might be easier said than done, but its time you start truly prioritizing yourself for your own well being and i know how hard this is but, you have to.
Please STOP. My mother a first born daughter educated all her siblings. When my grandmother died, they insulted her because they thought that she wants to “steal” the land. It’s never enough, will never be. Live for yourself now. For the first time my mother is resting at 60. She bought herself a nice car, built her dream house and travels. Before her money was always tied to educating her siblings children, paying for their medical bills, rent etc. it will never stop until you stop it.
@@Ubhntu3789 thank you for your reply. I am fighting hard through depression, creating boundaries, not people pleasing and putting myself first without feeling guilty. Your mom’s story gives me hope, it’s never too late to start loving myself.
I also used to help family this way. I don't interact with family much anymore, I now live my own life on my own terms. Let's live life our lives how we want not how someone else wants as if they they are living for us
Mresh, this is the crisis of confidence that brought Gen Z and Millenial Kenyans out on the streets, Your story perfectly captures the pain of the Youth. May we overcome❤❤❤
Isn't it refreshing? A young person who understands the need for balance and actively seeks to achieve that in an environment that thrives on imbalance. Love you loads sweetheart. Your strength, courage, and confidence are inspiring!
This is a very healing and friendly reminder to embrace our shadow because running away from it is more expensive. You are wonderful sis and it sucks that I am late to you but here I am and I am grateful🎉❤
We read that book in high school and its funny how everything that happens in the world is always well documented in books from decades ago. It makes me wonder why as human beings we keep repeating the same mistakes. Reading is truly a gift.
I understand I feel the same way and I am old enough to be your mom. I get so sick of people always saying to be positive. That alone is exhausting. Your hair is beautiful.
Do you plan to ever go back to France? Or is your plan to live in the village in Kenya? I chosen a slower life 2 years ago after realizing everything we are chasing is vanity. Corporate life made me so demoralized and sick. Went to a smaller country, got a beach house, took up a remote job where I work 6 months and 6 months I travel. I’ve never missed the corporate world of grinding culture. It has healed my nervous system.
You’ve done well for yourself 👏. My plan is to ensure i live a free life wherever I choose to be. I didn’t like how I was living abroad like a prisoner and being in the village has given me a lot of answers on how I want to live henceforth, whether I stay or go elsewhere 🥹
@@Jepisms rooting for you. Your content is a breath of fresh air. For you to have realized this in your 20’s is very commendable. You should be very proud of yourself. Your older self will be very proud of you.

i totally see your point about us consuming western media, basing our desires and direction on them , when in reality some of these ideals don't work for us.
💯 that’s why she points out the need to be media literate, she’s saying uncomfortable things and I’m thinking as a kalenjin woman, a first born daughter then she’s facing patriarchy head on. The men can even collude to kick you out of home because you’re not married.
You touch the core aspects of human, it’s absolutely important to align the mind, body and spirit. At some point I was a master of shelving issues, trauma’s and I made a decision that’s it , it comes with the territory for if I was in the wild I would deal with the good and the bad there and there get a solution, get it out of the system, so as to stay at optimum level in positivity with zero stress.
Chep, You really are lovely 😊. And funny. I could listen to you all day. I have been binging on your videos and just remembered I haven’t subscribed yet. Your thumbnails are so dramatic in a funny way😂😂. By the way, what did you add in the pancake dough? I am interested 😊
Thank you for noticing the work I put into the thumbnails 😂 and welcome to my little world 🥂 For the pancakes: - all purpose flour - baking powder - cinnamon - milk - sugar - eggs - diced apples (I don’t measure anything. Go with the flow 😃)
I swear your voice is so captivating....i just find myself getting lost in it.
