Hey, a video that cleanly shows me the visual/physical differences between the larger magazines available. Cheers from England, where annoyingly this excellent product is illegal.
Nice video! I bought a P665 a couple of weeks ago and it has become my daily carry! Since I pocket carry, I use the flat 10rd in the gun, with a 17rd as my reload. With a chambered round, that's 28 bits of comfort with me all the time!
Just got the 17 rnd mag from academy sports up the street for about $58. Came with 2 different grip ends for macro and xl. Easy to install. Fits my XL perfectly. The whole idea of 18 ROUNDS on the ready is still crazy to me. I agree with you , that 15 round really does look unnecessarily clunky.
Nice!! My academy never had it in stock, but online is till easy to get.. that’s a good price I think I paid more than that ! Yeah it’s so small I forget I’m carrying 18 rounds . Any other pistol you would have a huge extended mag
@@cliffordmorgan4222 I’m sure you could put the 17 on the 15 but then it would just be a normal 17 round mag so wouldn’t make any sense. The mags are the same so you would be just swapping base plates
Technical glitches aside, this was a pretty useful video for me. A still shot of the part number (around 3:28) would have been even more helpful. I might be interested in this very magazine. I'm sure I can look it up online just like you did (but I am pretty lazy... haha). Seriously, thanks for posting this video!
I'm sure you noticed you had a very hard time dropping the slide when the magazine was in. This is by design. In general it's a bad idea to drop the slide when there is not a bullet being loaded from the magazine. This temporarily deforms the extractor, and the fact that a bullet is not creating friction drag in the process of being moved from the magazine into the barrel subjects it to too much force. Use the slide "release" as a slide stop only, and you should hand release an empty slide by pulling it back norma,ly. And, if you do want to use the slide stop as a slide release, then press the button to eject the magazine first, even if only to let it pop out by a couple of millimeters, then press the slide release, and pop the magazine immediately back in.
Hey thanks for the long comment! Thanks for the info .. sometimes when I’m recording a video I’m concentrating on angles and view so I mess up on simple things.. I try not to edit my videos much so if I mess up I mess up .. some good info . Most of the time I have rounds in the chamber with it in my holster or shooting it at the range so almost never have it empty so forget that it stays back when empty ( especially if I’m making a video) thanks!
This is a common myth. It’s perfectly fine to drop the slide on a empty chamber with a striker fired pistol. 1911 is a different story though. But it’s the same amount of stress as firing your gun.. it won’t damage anything. That being said I agree it’s still good practice to pull back the slide to release it when your empty.
@@NittyGritty420It’s extremely difficult to drop the slide using the release with an empty magazine as the original commenter mentioned (very nice comment btw). It feels like it’s unnaturally forced and like it would be bad for it….
@@Mr_P_Rockzz It would make sense that it is. The P365 xl takes a flush fit 15 rounder too so it would only need a little bit more to cover the last two rounds for the 17. Thanks
Since the holes the 15,16,&17 holes are exposed in the back doesn't that allow dust to get inside more easily, or if u are pocket carrying pocket lint potentially trapped and causing a potential misfire??
I have never had an issue with anything getting in it .. even Glock got holes in some mags… it might if you were in a desert rolling in sand.. but as a daily I never had that issue… you would have this in a holster and that part doesn’t go in your pocket anyways it sits by your belly..
Oh nice! Removed the safety? That’s pretty cool! Maybe one day I’ll do that also..one day I will carry a gun without a safety, but for now I like having my safety’s

It is right .. such a cuttieee . I know you’re being sarcastic. People love to hate on a Manuel safety .. you know how easy it is to carry it in a holster with the safety off? The cools about a manual safety is that I can toss this gun in my bag or pocket with out worrying about a holster.. you can’t do that with your glocky..
