  • I used the loader to push out some trees for a new fence. It was a quarter mile long and on the north end it was really soft. I was able to get the stump holes filled back in (which had water running in) and final graded it. Under the circumstances it turned out real good.

    The 953 works really nice for that job. I like the sound of the Cat engines, they are music to the ears. Thanks for the ride along young man.

    Larry, that 953 lives to go beast mode on those trees. Doesn’t it?
    Pushing over those rotten trees gives me the Willeys. Those tops sometimes want to come back on you!
    You mentioned the hedge trees… and pushed a few out of the way. I have been surprised how few of my subscribers even know what they are. So I made a hammer out if a fence post and told people about them. You might find it interesting…
    Hopefully we catch a break from the rain. I’m already over 2” in the past two days, with more to come!
    Stay dry and watch your step bud!

      Thanks Dave! Yeah, you have to be careful on those old dead ones! You are correct, they will come back on ya. I’ve had it happen a few times and hit the ROPS and make a big “bang”!
      Seems like not everyone has the joy of having hedge trees and the joy of dealing with them. But, you are correct in the fact most don’t know what the the crazy things are.🤦‍♂️
      I would agree on the rain, it’s been a pain in the butt!

    Love those track loaders. Used a 953 a little the other day. Struggling with the controls on the loader. I have only used joy sticks on tractors and skid steers.

    May I ask a question sir? I do a lot of small clearing around my farm like you are doing here. Right now I have a 200 excavator, and a 455G track loader. I love the loader, but it gets frustrating sometimes since it is so small. I am considering getting a 30k lb Dozer like a 700K or Komatsu D51PX. I can grade and smooth up pretty good with my track loader, but I have never run a Dozer. Do you think a Dozer in that size range would be good for clearing, or should I get a 953 loader?

    • @Dirtdaddy953
      @Dirtdaddy953  5 месяцев назад +1

      Those sized dozers are made for final grading. Now that being said, you can clear brush and small trees with those dozers. But, if you’re wanting to take out big trees you better get a 953. With a little seat time you can grade nearly as good as a dozer.

    Does your new GP 10 allow for an external mic? Hard to understand you in the cab while tracking, working, engine running.

      Hey Bob! No, its the same as the 8. Have to use the media mod for an external mic. Some of the guys have been using a blue tooth style mic and I need to check into that. Thanks!

    just curious why not use the excavator

    • @Dirtdaddy953
      @Dirtdaddy953  2 года назад +1

      The southern part of the fence row was going to be really tight for the excavator to swing. The owners didn't want the cleared portion to be very wide so it was gonna be a tight fit. Plus, I was afraid the root ball holes would be deep (and they were) so the cleanup would be easier with the loader. Thanks Huck!
