    When it works in the octagon, it’s good. Better yet, try this on a resisting opponent. Everything looks pretty in play.

      What about the street ? It works there. Didn't know fights only happen in the octagon.

    in going to have to agree with you here, most of his stuff is just basically a slight variation of something you'd learn at any jiu jitsu or karate place, just fancied up with words like 'one with the elements' and 'flow like liquid' ex. from 1:29 to 1:45 is just a jiu jitsu hold that would never work on the streets or in a fight because the opponent would just let go the instant he feels pain

    • @punisher7772
      @punisher7772 5 месяцев назад

      You could learn this at any school, huh ? Well, definitely not at a Karate place. They wouldn't teach you something like this if it was strictly Karate.
      And yeah, of course the guy doesn't have to hold on to his wrist. You do understand it's just a demonstration ? He is just showing what he could do if a bigger stronger attacker decided to hang on to his wrist. He is showing how he doesn't need strength and can use technique, leverage, movement, balance, etc to defeat his opponent.

    @slimmythompson, your research was shoddy. This gentleman started his journey in 1967, no fake at all.

    @ riggs & ronin You see nothing impressionable because you are missing the simplicity, effectiveness and adaptability of these techniques. Regardless of the clothing worn, the effectiveness is there. When will you internet martial artists stop trying to gain a few seconds of youtube fame by your stupid & ignorant comments & look @ what is being taught. I'm sorry Sensei Ali for my comments, but I could not let that one slide.

    @Aikininja1 these youtube yahoo's aren't missing a thing. Their perceptions are clouded by ignorance and an inherent disrespect for things out of their scope of understanding. I sincerely hope that they ARE internet warriors and not students of a respectable sensei and/or associated school. Then again for some their only station in life is to anonymously agitate situations. Must be a miserable existence.

    Bullshit that won't work in real life with a person that knows how to fight.

      I bet he would have you on the ground with no problem. I think lots of people who criticize martial arts videos are the ones who don't know how to fight.

    I see nothing great. this is nothing more than aiki-jutsu in ninja clothing. he uses the terminology of gotonpo but his application looks like half-ass aikijutsu technique. I'm not impressed.

    • @punisher7772
      @punisher7772 5 месяцев назад

      Really ? I watched your videos and nothing impressed me. Your techniques and movement is very basic compared to his. Yeah, he is doing Aikijutsu that Ronald Duncan taught him but he is definitely not half assed. He is very smooth and flows, not stiff. Unlike other people. I think his movement is very impressive and in his other videos he demonstrates all kinds of techniques. Your technique is very basic, almost too simple. And boring too. His stuff is way more exciting and interesting. He has great skills that's for sure.

      @@punisher7772 self defense should be simple and to the point. I dont perform techniques to be flashy...
