If they don’t like you, you don’t need a Godan to sense that. And yes, if they don’t like you, they are SURELY backstabbing you. No need for a Godan either.

If you focus, you'll hear and feel the movement of the change in air flow around you when the attacker moves. You'll feel a vibration in the floor as well. Requires extreme focus.

Regardless whether it is just waiting to hear a sound in the silent room, than actually sensing intent, you need to be calm enough to hear it quick enough for you to react in time. If you're anxious and constantly anticipating to hear it, your mind would be divided and you'd respond slower, I think that's the point.

I have this. It litterally has kept me from being in a murder situation. I sensed a bad vibe & stayed home for a few weeks & later found out a person was shot & killed in the back seat of my friend's car where i usually sat. The case ended up on first 48. It has also enabled me to call out deaths of others & other things like car wrecks. So if you uptain this listen to it. It can save your life...although i have never had any martial arts training of any kind...but i have uptained this so listen to your sixth sense it can very well save your life.

As soon as you feel not a sword which they try to make you think is a metal instrument going to split your head into two leaves the top of your head you focus on the person's feet behind you. There's a little nuance of noise when they change their body position to strike that lets you allow yourself to move out of the way of danger. Yes this takes practice meditation and time.

I've trained this for years, but no matter how hard I try. I can't neither hear nor sense my dad pass the bathroom despite him being rather big.
No idea how but he's sneaky as HECK!
It's quiet, I listen and stay calm. Yet suddenly I hear him picking dishes in the kitchen, then suddenly he's back in the living room and then I open up and he's in the bedroom. And they all pass the bathroom. No idea how but damn if it's creepy when I don't know if he's there or not

im not totally sold on this, i think the test would be more accurate if you had the guy pace back and forth and strike at random. Dodging an attack like that would be a true test of sensing malice

THE reason it turns out to be soooo hard to hit a pesky fly with a fly swatter, I finally read in a science book, is that the fly's wings are super sensitive to even the smallest changes in air. As you come down w. your rolled up newspaper or flyswatter, you're already creating a change in air pressure which the fly's wing pick-up. I wonder if this same principle is working here? If they're simply detecting and reacting to a very sight change in the air above their heads, created by the downward movement (which is moving air particles) by the bamboo stick. I think that's easier to believe than any "Chi" or "6th sense".

    • @jonathonvillella1614

If you slowly lower your hand over a fly you can get right above it then easily smash it..it's weird how it works

  • @TheLeo4th

Take note of the the first and third swordsmen, they had blissfulness on their faces and then their face “fuck it!” And that’s when he moved. The second guy had a weird face from lifting the sword till swing and hitting the person kneeling. I think this exercise works only when the two people create a sort of connection.

I started discovering the world of the ninja around the early 90's, when I read the story of Steven K. Hays meeting Hatsumi sensei. Always wanted to actually learn the art, but no teachers close to me in those days (Portland, OR area). Glad to see the skills od the ryu being passed to others in America from Hatsumi sensei, along with use of the Internet to learn. Thank you for the video, and the discovery of a place to learn more!

I read a comment expressing the opinion this phenomenon was physically explicable. I once escaped such a surprise lethal attack for real by what I am sure was the same principle, and I am absolutely convinced something spiritual was involved, and nothing from the material realm. I do not think intentional training for this is without danger, as such powers are not always benign. They open one up to dark forces that cannot be controlled by one’s person, and there are numerous anecdotes to attest to this.

Sometimes I wonder, if he has something in mind for the time of his passing. What will become of Bujinkan? Will there be a new Soke? Then I stop myself from such ideas. Just curious.

People can Sense the mood from Others. Some people even when someone important to them is feeling Bad or are in danger. Like a mother is sensing when her child/baby is in danger. So why wouldnt you bei able sense when someone is deciding to harm you? If He has the intention behind IT, why shouldnt people be able too feel IT? It doesnt matter If this martial Art doesnt Work good in a Fight but people shouldnt be ignorant about other Things. Beeing effective in a Fight and Feeling is a different thing. All those comments who make fun about the possibility to feel other or danger are not as smart AS they think. Even though, maybe, in this video IT was "Luck". But i think the skill exists.

I've had the pleasure, no matter how brief to train within the Bujinkan. Most folks accept it up to this point, then they accuse me of "BS". Even showing old videos of Soke Hatsumi administering the test, they accuse me of BS. They often accuse the fact that the participants who fail, still walk away, seemingly without harm. I have tried to explain that (1) A true master can still knock some sense into you without rendering you unconscious.(2) We could go back to the original tradition of an actual sword, and lose the Bujinkan to the lawsuits of all the angry spouses and parents that never believed in this as a "real martial art"; Anyways, thanks for showing this. And thank you Soke Hatsumi for breaking with tradition and allowing us outsiders into the art.
