Can Will Bosi Repeat Adam's 9a Route from 2007? | Adam Ondra

  • When Will Bosi typed me a message that he was planning a trip to the Czech Republic and to visit my homecrag Moravský Kras (Moravian Karst), it took me a while to believe he really meant it. 2 months later, he quickly dispatched quick ascents of many of the hardest boulder problems, but I was especially curious about some of the routes. Sport climbing in Moravský Kras is usually even more weird, complex and beta-intense than local bouldering. Perla východu is a 9a that I first ascended when I was 14 years old and it hadn't seen a repetition. It is a proud line (trust me, it really is, unlike many other lines at my homecrag!) and Will had to put up a fight.
    Watch the video about his visit and this particular route.
    Thanks, William Bosi and Annaelle Duffield for the videos. Check Will's RUclips channel to watch full videos of his climbs: @WilliamBosi

      Perlorodka is a 9a+ that I first ascended in 2011, and it shares the start with Perla vychodu and then it goes straight. Will tried it very briefly, and we will definitely hear more about it as I have been trying a 9b+ variation into it. I want to finish it in the autumn, now it is too hot. If you write “Adam Ondra A few forgotten routes” on RUclips, you will get the result you want.

    10:41 what's the difference between flash and first go in bouldering?

    • @MLURD
      @MLURD Год назад +4

      When you try some moves/sequences it cannot be a flash. For flash you can touch the holds but no trying of the actual moves...

    • @OriginalDestro
      @OriginalDestro Год назад

      I consider a send a "1st go" instead of OS/flash when before the send I try the holds of the problem, even those that are not reachable from the ground, potentially hang on them to feel how good they are etc. :)
      EDIT: I wonder if it would still count as a "1st go" when you try individual moves of the problem separately before the send go. I believe so? Maybe thats what Will did but don't know...

    • @DaleTurrell
      @DaleTurrell Год назад

      Flash is first go but you're allowed beta (information about how to do the climb, like watching someone else do it, or someone telling you which holds or moves to do), Onsight is first go and you don't have any more information apart from what you can see from the ground. Often in bouldering there's not much difference between the two so people sometimes only use flash.
