Getting emotional about the idea of climbing with your son. Fantastic, its what its all about. I hope he remembers his early comment in this vid, where he says he remembers not always wanting go. We walk a very fine line as parents between inspiring and pushing away. Best of luck to him.
My 3 year old has been climbing for almost 2 years now. And he's very much into it. He did a proper smear with his foot in our gym. I was so moved. Damn it's impressive to see small kids move so naturally and have the passion.
This was a cool video, enjoyed learning a little about Adam's home area. I'm an American but my grandfather was from the Brno area (a town called Bzenec, where I still have some distant cousins).
@@ondrejnevelik7338 Very interesting. We look somewhat similar, wouldn't be surprised if we were distantly related. There were many Czech emigres (like my great grandparents) to Chicago in the late 1800s and early 1900s. It used to be a powerful ethnic group here, with large neighborhoods like Pilsen and "Czech California," and a well known mayor (Anton Cermak) who was assassinated in an attempt on Franklin D. Roosevelt. Some of my cousins have visited Bzenec and really enjoyed meeting relatives and seeing some family history.
The thing people don't realize: for Adam climb at the level he is without being a little 5ft 6" 120lbs featherweight like most of the world cup guys are, is incredible in and of itself...he's a freak of nature defying gravity with that "tray hard" that only eastern europeans have :)
Kai Lightner is another guy who climbs hard and has an even bigger frame than Ondra. Idk how they do it at their size, Kai is like 6'2, 215lb?? insane shit
THIS!!! Finally someone acknowledging it! Everyone is always like "oh yeah but there's Adam who's 186 cm and is the goat". Yes, that's how freakishly exceptional he is (was, in bouldering comp in particular, where now he clearly struggles with his size). Yes there's Kai and Jan Hojer who are both amazing, but they're in great minority and never been in the very top rankings. Adam the goat!

I just came back from climbing session with my friend... and I was thinking about climbing and this popped up ;) Perfect timing for that video :)
I am very much looking forward to seeing videos of Adam climbing with his son in the future.

One of the best in the game undoubtedly.
1:36 I thought Adam's gonna say when he's a small kid he didn't like climbing and training so much lol
