Super super nice guy. Have met him twice. I was telling him how his movie, To Heal a Nation, made my father cry and that was the only time Ive seen that happen. He was genuinely touched and thanked my dad for his service. His wife did not seem to remember that role (she was with him), so he told her about the character he portrayed. Lovely man.
I once knew someone who told me that she was actually in one of Eric's movies. She told me that it was one of his lesser-known movies and that she had a very small part. She told me that he was REALLY nice and came around and talked to everyone on the set.
I remember that movie, I was in New York to see Eric on Broadway in "Burn This", in which he was brilliant, To Heal A Nation was on the TV supplement cover of The New York Times, which I purchased the same day. I got the DVD of the film the following year in the UK. It was a moving and inspiring story, beautifully acted, I can understand if your Father was a veteran how it would move him deeply. Thanks for sharing your story.
Absolute win, just googled her she's also an actress usually ego's get in their way and things fall apart. If they made it through the lockdown they can go even further.
Thank you for doing this! This man has always been one of my favorite actors in the world. Pope of Greenwich Village really needs a 4K blu-ray reissue. Star 80 too.
Thank you for this video! I think Mr Roberts is an outstanding actor… in the past I wondered why he was on so many crappy movies, but it just made me respect him even more. No matter the role, no matter the budget and no matter the script, he’s always good, he always makes an effort. Now, instead of wondering why he’s in some bad movies, I wonder why other A List actors don’t do the same.
My friend is a huge fan of the Stalked By My Doctor franchise. So I got him a cameo and I thought it was low effort it would be funny. Eric gave a genuinely lovely and message. Gave personal recommendations for books and music related to my friends' interests. It was outstanding for even the level of the average cameo video. He delivered far above what was expected.
I agree strongly, a lot of people criticize the film and I have some friends who don't like Robert's Master. But I personally think his take on the character is unique and very gripping and sinister.

Runaway Train 1987 is a must watch! Made me become a life-long fan. He's played so many bad ass roles. But there are some that show off his emotional ability. And Runaway Train is one of them.
Glad to see brother and sister have long successful careers and they didn’t even have to be in the same movies to make it happen. They both have charm, good looks, and a true warmth in their characters.
Eric’s a great, great actor…easily better than “stars” of recent times! He doesn’t get to play the roles he once did, but he appears in everything and can still make money doing what he loves… And he has classics where he played an important role… The Pope of Greenwich Village is one of the most underrated films ever (him and Mickey Rourke were amazing together), Runaway Train, Best of the Best, Star 80, so on…
Eric Roberts was in a cameo role in The Dark Knight directed by Christopher Nolan. Eric was in the scene where the Joker said "I know why you are having your therapy sessions in broad daylight and I why you don't go out at night...the Batman."

Julia's good too but she doesn't drown into her character (sometimes she does). Julia, I feel it's more about her screen presence. But that's just my opinion.
I guess because he never cared for being a superstar.. he chose more and indie projects with character based roles, unlike Julia Roberts who mainly did commercial movies and became a huge star
I read somewhere that Eric Roberts's desire is to be on set everyday, and that's how he's been in 700+ movies. If that's true, then I applaud him on his work ethic!

I think Eric Roberts is an underrated actor. But his choice in films and probably the speedy drugs made him seem weird/odd. He was better looking than Julia but evidently a more intense person. She is not intense enough, him too much. Love him though. Going to watch some Eric Roberts movies.
