Here's an interesting (sad) trivia: Does anyone remember the character "Benny" from the movie Leon: The Professional? His real name is Keith A. Glascoe. Turns out he was also a firefighter during the 9/11 attacks, but unfortunately he passed away in the midst of the rescue that he and others performed during that time.
Nothing happened to him, other than living his life and doing what he loves. He has my respect for responding to 9/11 despite never needing to, and risking his health and life, while deliberately hiding his identity to do it. Really good guy, and Im proud to be a fan
Still can’t believe he wasn’t nominated or at least recognized at the academy for his roles in “Fargo” or “Reservoir Dogs” and also he was hilarious in “Airheads”, “The wedding singer” and “The big Lebowski” but his death scene here was actually so sad
Alan hale sr was in it happened one night 1934 the adventures with Robin Hood 1938 the adventures of Marco Polo 1938 the fighting 69th 1940 Virginia city 1940 this is the army 1943
He is one of those actors with endless range. From Reservoir Dogs to Con Air to Grown Ups to The Death of Stalin and of course The Big Lebowski. Everything he does is believable, genuine and seems like he is just playing his own personality, but then you watch another movie with him and you realise he is that convincing. I haven't watched any of his movies and not liked his performance. What an absolute legend!
Steve is both loved and underappreciated. He'd always been one of the Sandler sidekicks to me until Boardwalk. I remember being 22 and seeing Boardwalk Empire when it was released. That show is so underrated and his performance was amazing.
I love this man. He is such an entertaining actor onscreen but is even better as a person. He is truly a great and selfless man and I think a lot of us could learn from him. God bless this man, he is a national treasure. Btw Mr. Pink will always be my favorite role from him!
Steve is a national treasure! I wish we would have seen more of Tony B in the Sopranos. Also he had good turns in King of New York and as Ellen's dad in The Adventures of Pete & Pete.
When I see Steve, I'm taken back to some of my favourite years in the 90's. A very unforgettable face and act, he's awesome. Still love his bit in Billy Madison lol.
It's a great show. I wish they had made more seasons of it. It blew my mind when I found out that the actor that played Arnold Rothstein, Michael Stuhlberg, played Griffin in MIB 3. He was the alien that could see all the different ways a universe could turn out and saw them all play out at the same time. Talk about polar opposites as far as roles go. That show had so many great actors. The guy thar played Chaulkie White was great. I heard gmhe passed away here not to long ago. But my favorite was the character Mickey Doyle. The actor played that role perfectly.
Fun fact (..well, for me..) he directed me as a featured extra in Portlandia. My "role" never really amounted to much (I was there to learn more about the behind the scenes than to try to be an actor anyway), but it was a great experience and he was a very cool guy.
Spy Kids 2 and Monsters Inc were my introductions to him as a kid. After that came his Adam Sandler roles and after that came his more serious roles in Fargo and Reservoir Dogs
Love Steve Buscemi's work, he can play any type of character, he had me laughing, he had me feel sorry for him, he had me loving so many of his character and he had me afraid to death of him, he could be goofy or serious, it didn't matter, her nails it eveytime
Buscemi's great acting most likely can be contributed to the fact he studied at the Lee Strasberg theatre and film institute. It is considered one of the best to study at because of their specific teaching methods and actors like Marlon Brando also attended.
THANK YOU! somebody besides me actually liked ConAir for what it is! Its not a staple or a throwback. But it was nice and entertaining. And now i may actually watch it again since the last time i watched it was in probably early 2000s. That would have been the second time, i think i watched it. But i remember my first time watch ConAir was in theater...
My fav and what made me fall in love with his characters' was Trees Lounge myself and mate walked into a cinema one Saturday looking to shelter from rain whilst stoned, and ended up going into see this film, and to this day it blows me away
I think in the 90s was stealing scenes in a lot of big movies like “Con Air”, “Armageddon”, “Big Daddy”, “Desperado” and that masterpiece of “Fargo”. He was excellent and so fun to watch
Alan hale sr was in Robin Hood 1922 with Douglas Fairbanks sr Stella Dallas 1937 with barbara stanwyck Algiers 1938 with Charles Boyer make your own bed 1944 with Jack Carson
I loved him The Island! Was a small part, but still good. And I loved him in The Incredible Burt Wonderstone! This movie took me a couple watchings, but it grew on me and now I love watching it.
He does pronounce his name boo-semi but knows it's incorrect, stating, "I had to go to Sicily to learn I pronounce my own name incorrectly" I've just looked this up as I always pronounced it boo-shemi, which is in fact correct 😊 He's a fabulous actor & seems to be a decent person too. I'm sorry to hear he lost his wife at such a young age - may she rest in peace.
Steve buscemi always reminding me of the James Cagney style gangster from bugs Bunny cartoons. . He literally looks just like a live-action version of him lol. I also really loved his character in things to do in Denver while you're dead. . Ass The Hitman Mr whispers.
I only realized 3/4 of the way through this video that I was confusing Steve Buscemi with William H Macy. I was thinking "What about Magnolia, and Mystery Men, and that whole thing with Tea Leoni?"
I don't know how you're going to miss or leave out his role in things to do in Denver while you're dead. . He was perfect as the quiet but creepy villainous Hitman.
Steve Buscemi, David Eigenberg (Steve from Sex and the City) and Robert John Burke all helped in the cleanup and volunteer services in the aftermath of the attacks.
Alongside Giamatti as one of the best Character actors of all time. I’m genuinely surprised they haven’t acted together after all these years. I would love to see it before their done
Anybody remember the show, "Pete and Pete?" He had a semi-reoccurring character as Ellen's Dad. He was also a math teacher, if I recall it correctly. Full show name is probably "The Adventures of Pete & Pete." Fantastic early 90's Nickelodeon show. Let me know if anyone remembers.
Thanks man, also always felt Con Air is a perfect action movie, and it's the perfect 90's movie dealing with racism as in we had overcome it basically. And Garlene Greene is so funny, especially his introduction scene with awesome perfect soundtrack looking like hannibal lecter.
I saw most of these films when they came out. Steve really swam in the Indie world in the 90s. "In walks the biggest Mexican you've ever seen..." "I don't tip." "I'm a pre-board certified massage therapist." 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

@ericseitzler81 right! Like character in con air or armageddon bad but his part in Billy Madison when he puts the lipstick on woke folks would lose their minds cheering how great he is
I enjoyed 'The Dead Don't Die'. Adam Driver was a hoot. Bill Murray dead panning through the impossible. The rest of the top shelf actors and actresses being total professionals. It was a lot of fun just to watch the talent chew the scenery even if it was a bit stale.
Did we forget about the movie he did with Sandra bullock, the movie about her going to rehab and Steve is the councilor. 28 days movie, another one Steve stole the show!!!Surprised this wasn't mentioned? You must see it if you haven't already!!!
I'm 49 and truly consider Steve Buscemi as one of my generation's greatest actors.
Absolutely
i agree. I just had to stop watching Boardwalk Empire after the incest scene.
No argument. I'd always considered him just a funny character actor until his role on the Sopranos, and after that I was like this dude can act!
I agree!

I love Steve, great human being.
Alan hale sr was in god is my co pilot 1945 with Raymond Massey Adrian Dunbar Jamie dornan Dennis Morgan Dane Clark
We can't forget Escape from L.A. Even if you want to. Steve and Bruce Campbell are the highlights of that movie
Nothing happened to him, other than living his life and doing what he loves.
He has my respect for responding to 9/11 despite never needing to, and risking his health and life, while deliberately hiding his identity to do it.
Really good guy, and Im proud to be a fan
Great actor he can play good guys and bad guys, so well
Holy smokes. Did not know about this story. This is one of my childhood favorite actors. Much respect
This maybe you're best "what happened..." yet. The level of respect paid is wonderful, cheers for this one.
This is the first that I've heard of what Buscemi did during 9/11. I've always admired him as an actor, but that admiration just turned to respect.
Still can’t believe he wasn’t nominated or at least recognized at the academy for his roles in “Fargo” or “Reservoir Dogs” and also he was hilarious in “Airheads”, “The wedding singer” and “The big Lebowski” but his death scene here was actually so sad

Tony B Uncle AL lol!

Had no idea about his wife, how sad. He deserved a step back and am glad to see he is continuing to give us amazing performances!
Highly recommend Boardwalk Empire to anyone who hasn't seen it! It was truly a top-notch experience from beginning to end.

Lot of great performances in that show, but Buscemi was the highlight and the glue that held it together and made it work.
Shocked we haven't gotten this one yet but I'm glad we got it now!
He is one of my all time favourite actors.
8:41 is a great segue to my thinking Bill Skarsgård (Pennywise in IT films) looks like young Steve.
Thought the same
What a career! So many iconic roles. Mr. Pink, Carl, Donnie, Nucky and the often overlooked Rex in Airheads. LEGEND.
One of my favourite actors, just superb.
Fun fact (..well, for me..) he directed me as a featured extra in Portlandia. My "role" never really amounted to much (I was there to learn more about the behind the scenes than to try to be an actor anyway), but it was a great experience and he was a very cool guy.

Alan hale sr was in the smiling ghost 1941 with Wayne morris
His little speech on tipping was classic. He was really holding out for a buck. Hilarious.

I didn't know Steve Buscemi stuck up for Vince Vaughn in a barfight. What a good friend.

Worth mentioning he directed the most famous Sopranos episode Pine Barrans in 2001, 3 years before he joined the cast.

Ghost World is one of my favorite movies, and it wouldn't have been the same without him. It was definitely a Steve movie.
I think in the 90s was stealing scenes in a lot of big movies like “Con Air”, “Armageddon”, “Big Daddy”, “Desperado” and that masterpiece of “Fargo”. He was excellent and so fun to watch
Yep, he always stuck out and got you to remember him even though he was only a side character.
Alan hale sr was in Robin Hood 1922 with Douglas Fairbanks sr Stella Dallas 1937 with barbara stanwyck Algiers 1938 with Charles Boyer make your own bed 1944 with Jack Carson
I hung out with him for a few hours during the filming of Con Air in Utah, what a great guy!
Its hilarious that around the 18 min mark of the video, the narrator starts pronouncing Buscemi the way everybody else pronounces Buscemi 😂
Airheads is such an underrated movie
Steve Buscemi is an incredible talent. If he chooses not to work again, he will surely be missed.
The way you changed how you say "Buscemi" in the middle of the video was crazy 😂
Some heartless guy punched him in the face 😡
I wish that vermin got tracked down and beaten to a pulp. Genuinely.
Yeah screw that guy. Steve is a wonderful man and a nice guy. The fact somebody attacked him is absolutely disgusting.
I kept googling to find out who the other recent NYC face-punch celeb was. It was Rick Moranis, thank you for including that in the video!
The blatts are out of control in NY
We all know who did it
Now that Brendan Frasier is acting again. They really extremely need to do a new Airheads film!
So you can complain about how lazy Hollywood is nowadays with all the tired sequels ?
I love Steve Buscemi. I have never seen a bad performance, even when in a bad movie. He deserves joy. Or at least peace.
I'm there for anything he's in. Even if he plays the character that just doesn't tip comedy to drama he is solid! He's up there with Mr walken!
'Tree's Lounge' was a good one, akin to a play. He's got talent. I am glad he found success...

How many actors can say they’ve worked with basically all the greats American directors?!
That's a darn good point, my friend.

I Love Steve Busemi!! He is so very funny and extremely talented!! BUT why wasn't the 1993 movie: "Ed and His Dead Mother" mentioned in this video??
Bc he didn't want to talk about his dead mother it's rude.
Missed Escape from LA..... Map to the Stars Eddie.
I've always wondered bc in the first film cabbie said he had a friend named Eddie I wonder if it's the same guy or just a coincidence
I literally have a hand painting of Steve Buscemi on my wall, right next to my hand painting of George Carlin.
